Greetings from Kokol Haven Resort! Kokol Haven Resort is located on top of Kokol hill at one of the Crocker Range starting point and the Resort itself is 2,700 feet above sea level. You can enjoy the same mountain ambient with the thick blanket of mist cloaked around the hills, thus we are known as the Second Kundasang. Furthermore, the Resort is situated 25km (about 40mins to 1 hours drive) from the central city of Kota Kinabalu, a perfect getaway from the hustle & bustle of the city. Besides the location, visitors may also enjoy spectacular sunrise scenery over the majestic Mount of Kinabalu as well as KK's gorgeous sunsets over KK city in the evenings. The Resort area stretch about 40acres, comprising a multi-purpose court, a mini outdoor gym, herbal garden, strawberry farm, and of course plentiful varieties of fruit tree and jungle trekking. The healthy growing flora & fauna, makes us a home to many beautiful creature especially for birds and butterflies. It is the Resort effort to create a "Haven" to our valued guest, so they may experience tranquility and foremost, to unite with the nature. Lastly, the Resort Hotel provides 32 rooms inclusive one Honeymoon Suite and a VIP Suite.

Nice place for a staycation. Lovely view from the hilltop and cool breeze. Instead of traveling to Kundasang for fresh air consider this lovely place which is not far from the capital. Beautiful scenery and magical for photoshoots! Rooms package comes with dinner instead of breakfast.

A cooling place with wonderful scenery overlooking the kota kinabalu town. Rooms are wonderful and good place for wonderful photo shoots. Air-conditioned and bladeless fan (do google if you don't know what it is) in room. You can get a view of mt kinabalu during clear weather. Thanks to the front desk to help in arranging taxi to airport but NO Buggy service available early morning thus when I check out at 8am, my wife and i need to bring our luggage and baby stroller down the slope to reception area. Luckily a car saw and offer to send us down from the rose villa to reception. Another area for improvement would be to segregate the walking path and vehicle path as it could be dangerous especially at night. Some construction works on going and I strongly urge the management to make a stronger barricade and signage to prevent unwanted incidents especially children from entering into construction area (refer photo).

Had a lovely weekend stay in this hotel for a club AGM. The hill resort is about an hour from the airport and we arrived to a welcoming staff from the hotel. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our check-in was quick and efficient. Our hotel room was in a separate building from the main hotel but there was a buggy service to take us to rooms. We were transported to our rooms very efficiently about five minutes away. We had a family deluxe room which had had a king size bed and a loft which had a two big mattress which would be fun for a family with children. The stairs are rather narrow so a safety gate on top of the staircase would be good. The room also had a good size balcony for watching the sun set and sun rise and also beautiful view of the mountains and blue sky. Basic hotel amenities were available and the bathroom has a rain shower and no bathtub. The room was cleaned everyday and bottled water and tea n coffee replenished. As we were there on a special function the food we had was specially catered for our group. On average the food was average, and the breakfast was also average. Unable to comment the food served in the hotel restaurant as we were in a group and did not eat in the restaurant. There is no restaurant or eateries near the resort and you would have to take a grab car if you needed to go downtown for the many shopping centres and restaurant that served very delicious seafood and local cuisine. Our friend had a deluxe room and is the same as the family deluxe room except they don't have the loft. There are jungle tracks, hiking, children play areas, the concierge will be able to advise the guests of all the facilities available. The hill hotel is really nice for a relaxing holiday and Kota Kinabalu has many attractions for the holiday makers.

Away on top of the hill, sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee, escape from the heat. Strongly advisable to drive ownself. You can "Grab" your way here, but it will be very difficult to get "Grab" driver to drive all the way up to pick you. Alternatively, you can "Grab" yourself up and request the Resort to arrange shuttle that brings you down to nearest bus stop, where you "Grab" easily.

Nice resort 40-45 mins drive from KK town. Normal resort price for foods n drinks ($9 for tea) still ok, however you need to have your own transportation to come here, or at least pre arrange it. Don't expect that you can travel back to KK by using Grab or cab easily. Overall, nice accommodation.
