- I like it because it's a bit of away from city. Quiet area, surrounded by trees
- right next door to supermarkets. Super convenient.
- Must have a car. No public commute
- Generally clean. Room is spacious. (some stains on carpets, but it's ok to me)
- Parking no problem.

Worth a stay. WIll visit again.~

Absolutely clean and they have cold ac. Just the way i like it! The service is average. And it is next to the mall where you can get easy access to your necessities and food. It's quite far frm the city though. Other than that, keep it up!

Stayed in deluxe room and it had all necessary items. Clean and comfortably all over. Yoy do not have to go out to enter the city mall - it is just right next to the hotel. The breakfast was basic and not something to remember. Just quit plain. But all over a nice hotel for the money.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I stayed here just recently for 3 nights to relax after an exhausting (although incredibly fun) scuba diving trip in Mabul Island and Sipadan Island. I arrived very early (around 5:30 AM) and had already made arrangements with the hotel staff to have my room ready which they accomodated. They also provide a complimentary shuttle service to Kota Kinabalu City Centre which I took for two days while I was there. The shuttle service was on time and I was not worried about having to take transportation back to the hotel, because they also provided return transfer for free.

The rooms are clean and there's daily cleaning service. They also provide a safebox in every room. The bathroom toilet and shower were really nice. The breakfast is somewhat more geared towards the Asian clientele, although they still provided cereal, fresh fruit, and eggs, so I did not have anything to complain. Additionally, the staff is friendly and they were able to answer my questions easily. The location is OK, since being next to the mall provides great amenities, but it's still a little far from the airport and the KK city centre.

Overall, I would come back here again. I would love to come back to Sabah to do more scuba diving and hopefully climb Mount Kinabalu, so this is a good place to relax after an exhausting adventure.

I had an enjoyable stay with this hotel. It doesn't look much from the outside but the hotel itself definitely surpass my expectations. I've stayed in a few hotels in KK and I must say I am impressed especially with the DVD player and the free internet throughout the hotel. The hotel food is not too bad as well, I defnitely recommend the Traditional Nasi Kampung, worth every penny. All this plus a good service at a mere 3 star price for a 5 star quality . I'll definitely recommend it to my friends.

When open the room door at third floor after get the room key, there have a bad strong smell, i rush out for discussion and thinking i still accept the smell. after i back to room, i lay on bed and preparing to sleep, after that i feel itchy and try to call receipt, but the phone is not working, and finally i went down to receipt counter.

the reception guy is rude to ask why i so late to report the room problem. He has changed the room to me and told this is last room, if this room still got problem then have to wait tomorrow morning for room cleaning. he gave me the feeling like i giving him the problem????

I move to new room and straight away go lay on bed.

Next day, when i turn on the water, the basin water leak, i went down to reception counter and report this issue, the SAME reception guy said "yesterday night you report the room got strong smell and the bed not clean make you itchy, NOW you report the basin water leaking", he sound like no good to me.

at the end, i wont come this hotel again.

We had rooms booked and were assigned to rooms at third floor. They are refurbishing the rooms and the place is full of furnitures. Once we open the room, it is full of strange smell and the room is very old. 1 of the room doesn't even have towels in it, even if they brought over late that day, My colleague requested for a room change when he feels itchy sleeping on the bed, the response from the customer service is very rude by asking why we did not report earlier. The same response was given when the same guy reported water leak with his basin to the customer service. Sounds to us that we are at fault as we report the relevant only when we found it out. The WiFi signal is very weak in each of our rooms. It is overall a very bad experience and will never come back to this hotel chain anymore.

First impressions of the hotel lobby is very old hotel, check in was okay, reception has no issue with it.

One lift, went up to 3rd floor for the room.

Open the door and already have a bad carpet smell. And theres a lot of hair left on the bed. Carpet was dirty and filled with stains and burn mark by cigarette.

Very old wooden furniture, bed is old and pain when u sleep. Feel the "spring"

Can't found plug near to bed. Need to charge your mobile phone near to the tv! Limited plug..

Aircond was okay. Cold and strong wind.

Toilet was okay and spacious, water pressure and heater is good. The towel is a nightmare, the smell!! Can't imagine how long they wash it? Requested new one and its still smell the same.

The wifi is awefully terrible! Not saying by the speed. The signal was so weak and it almost dc every second. Bear in mind i do know we have our own data. But too bad to tell you, digi, celcom, umobile and even maxis.. the signal is at E.. and sometime none! Can't even make a call.. oh my god..

Sorry but i wont be coming back here. And to choose this hotel is also because of no other choice as we need to work nearby here.. avangio hotel Kota Kinabalu is fully booked.. now i know why that hotel is fully booked and not this..

My god save me for another night here tomorrow..

Your sincerely customer from penang!!

Firstly, the staff were friendly and polite.

The hotel is not where the map indicated it was (booked through skyscanner); it was more than 1 km further south, and we would not have booked here if we had realised the true location.

On arrival, our electronic room key did not work; we went back down to reception and they quickly sent up a couple of maintenance guys to fix it. It took them a good 30 mins to fix the problem.

About an hour after this we decided to go out, and realised that we could not open the door from the inside, and so were trapped in the room. We tried to ring both the operator and housekeeping, but there was no reply. We then tried calling the hotel number as advertised on the hotel letter head; we seemed to get onto the manager of the shopping complex, not hotel reception. Luckily he contacted hotel staff who then rang as back; when we'd alerted the hotel to the problem they quickly sent the maintenance team to let us out and fix the door again. This experience only lasted 10 minutes, but was quite unpleasant when we couldn't raise any hotel staff and realised we were effectively trapped.

Room cleaning seems to have been stopped halfway through, as they removed our soap but did not replace it, moved stuff we had on a desk into a draw but did not clean glasses left on the desk etc.

The décor is hilariously 70s awful, which isn't a big issue.

On balance, I would suggest not staying here; our experience was that it was not run or maintained well. It was also expensive for what it offered.

The water in the shower takes forever to go down the drain (hence you eventually shower in a pool of water up to your ankles). Service is never offered with a smile. The food served in the morning is cold not not being kept warm (including curry and congee) and the fruits served were so not fresh they were obviously kept overnight after being sliced the previous day. There were ants in my room and all the remote controls in the room were not working (batteries were so old, they were rusty). Only upside to this place is that it is located next to a mall. Some hotel staff had bad attitudes as well. Definitely not coming back to this hotel again.
