Welcome to the Kuching Waterfront Lodge, refurbished with Colonial, Nyonya & Baba decor. Kuching Waterfront Lodge is located at Main Bazaar, one of the oldest & busiest streets in Kuching, where trading took place since a long time ago in the era of James Brooke (The White Rajah). Today, the Main Bazaar is still buzzing with people, entertainment & business activities, with traditional spices, antiques, jewelries shops and cafes.
Stayed here in a group of 12 in July 2019. The desk were very helpful and accommodating as they allowed us to use facilities to keep bags whilst we trekked and were away, they also gave us discount due to it being such a large group. Good English speaking, the bedrooms were all good for price with hot working water. There is some self catering with the use of a toaster.

We really loved the place. Nice location as well close to the waterfront. Our bedroom faced the street though and it was very noisy in the evening. Don’t plan to sleep before 11 pm if you stay there. Staff was nice. Room and Bathroom simple and clean. Real improvement opportunity is for breakfast. Basic pantry with free low quality tea coffee toast with butter and jam ..no fruits .. a fridge though if you want to buy and cook. But worth knowing it.

"A friendly, no frills hotel located alongside the waterfront. Rooms are small but you get all you need: comfortable bed, small desk, small bathroom, air con, free wi-fi and a very basic DIY breakfast of bread and jam. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful.

Location is at the water front of Sarawak River, so plenty of things to be enjoyed, nice foods in the vicinity, souvenirs shops along the road, relax atmosphere along the river front, and also close to river cruise wharf. The room was clean and OK, the hotel provides us free simple breakfast, and the building has an accent of old chinese house. Friendly and helpful staff, a convenience stay for one night.

I was bringing a group travelling via land from KK, Brunei, Pontianak, Kuching return. they came during the 2nd day of Chinese New Year celebration. this hotel sits on a property built during the reign of the Brooke family. The building itself was huge. Mary, the receptionist gave us a tour of the hotel. the 5 persons group chose a room on the ground floor. great job everyone.

The Lodge was a great place to locate during our stay in Borneo. Arshad, Abu, Mary, Zack and Zienon were friendly and helpful night or day, whatever the hour. When we traveled overnight or several days to national parks and wildlife refuges our extra baggage was stored under lock and key while we were away, making our excursions so much easier. We stayed in multiple rooms, but our favorite was Room 214, centrally located. There are festive events and activities on the waterfront and an all-night open air restaurant behind the Lodge and Room 214 insulated us to a good degree from the reveries. Returning from excursions away from Kuching we welcomed the ability to sleep early.

A friendly, no frills hotel located in the Main Bazaar. Rooms are small but you get all you need: comfortable bed, small desk, small bathroom, free wi-fi and a very basic breakfast. The front desk staff is very nice and helpful. At the back of the hotel you will find a great simple restaurant serving a delicious Sarawak laksa.

People may called it a budget hotel but I would term it as a "Heritage Hotel" as they are not any ordinary budget hotel. They have a displayed of antique items, chairs and even our bed! This hotel is clean and staff are helpful. They do provide simple breakfast with local coffee, tea & bread. I do filled up my drinking water in my bottle everyday. They provide room temperature filtered & hot drinking water. The rooms upstair are quite spacious with clean attached bath with hot shower and is value for your money if you are not expecting too much. A very strategic location at the so called Water Front which is a river. Don't judge the river by its water, they will surprised you with hidden crocodiles! There are boats & ferry rides on this stretch of the river. You could also call for Grab Cars to take you around. Along this stretch of road, you can find the famous Sarawak Kolok Mee & Sarawak Laksa. Behind the Hotel is the Chinatown where you can feast on Kolok Mee, Sarawak Laksa, Satay, biscuits & other local delicacy. You can walk along the Water Front and will bring you to Pullman & Hilton Hotels. In the evening, the Water Front will come alive with street activities, band performances & local delicacy. Oh yes, don't forget the famous Sarawak Layered Cakes which is found at every corner of the streets. Don't forget to shop for local famous Sarawak Pepper corns or grind pepper in small packets. You can smell pepper from the packet as it is authentic 100% pepper. We took a Grab Car to the airport from the Hotel. A pleasant ride and good memories of the Hotel not forgeting the yummy food.…

ok, so when deciding where to stay I could pick the 5 star hotel or even cheaper the Waterfront Lodge. I am very happy I picked this place. The location is perfect. Very charming hotel. Very basic breakfast. But the most important thing, it is very close to the busstation. For the island the bus #1 stops just outside the hotel. The busstation is 10 minutes from the hotel. Couldn't be more pleased with this. The room is basic. The AC is noisy. I turned it off before I went to bed. then when it got too hot I turned it on. Didn't bother me much. Even thought the hotels in this town is pretty cheap. Remember it's very hot outside, so pick one with a great location. Just outside is the waterfront, you can walk it and try out the different restaurants. There is also some bridge, good for sunset pictures. Before the busstation there is a mall with Starbucks and restaurants.…

The 3 person room was very comfortable and very affordable, would definitely recommend staying there if you are on a budget. However, our room (114) was directly over the smoking area and the smell did get into our bathroom when people were smoking, which was a mild inconvenience for us but could be bothersome for others. Otherwise very clean, friendly enough staff, great location.
