Well this hotel is very old and age is certainly showing on everything from furniture to linens to their washrooms. There is nothing much to write positive about the hotel. Only good thing is low budget rates and proximity to malls and water front.

Service is slow and staff is just average. Washrooms are not upto the mark. Hence I reckon avoid this if you can.

I reached Kuching for my business trip on 1 Dec 2008. During that time, most of the class hotel were fully booked. So I decided to stay at a budget hotel which near to the Kuching Golden Triangle. So, I choose Liwah Hotel.

One day stay, they charged me RM90++ (weekday). Ok, for one night stay before i move to other hotel.

Even though it consider a budget hotel the service given was good. Their staff were friendly and helpful, i can say it may be better than some 3 star hotel available in Kuching.

So I have decided to stay there until my business finish. I went back to KL on 6 Dec 2008.

This hotel was recently refurbished but the condition of the toilet was really poor. Stain all over the bath tub. Tap water leaking whole night and when complain, they just tighten the tap. The room was ok, bed average but clean. If they refurbish their toilet, then they might get 2.5 stars. Carpet very old already.

Stayed at this hotel for quarantine. The positive reviews are from 2013, so by 2022 this hotel has not been updated since. The rooms are extremely dated using items from early 1990s. I found multiple hair on the sheets and in the tub. Then as I was cleaning I found a wad of hair inside the closet, which means the staff doesn’t sanitize. There is no water or water pressure so be warned it may take you a long time to shower. By the way, I saw cockroach in the room when I first got here. Just be prepared!

The last time i stayed here was somewhere in December 2009. The room then was a bit small, no kettle provided, and ants were crawling happily here n there. Since then, I never stayed there anymore. But a sudden change of heart makes me try this hotel again. What a great shocked to see such a drastic improvement. The room is spacious, the king-size bed is cosy (even the pillows are so comfortable that my husband says this is the first time a hotel has a good pillow), kettle, mini fridge, wi-fi, flat screen with a few extra channels. The aircond makes some funny noise once in a while though. As for the toilet..yes..there's no luxury there, but it is clean and functioning well.

I stayed in Room 317 and the staff know exactly the room we stayed in without even asking for the room key. They clean our room immediately when we go out during the day. Ample parking space and Chilli Peppers is just at the ground floor of the hotel. Try their Laksa Sarawak n their Ice Milo is "kaw" @ thick, so yummy that my son loves it so much. SCR Express, RJ Ayam Penyet, Waterfront, Tun Jugah are a stone throw away.

If you are coming with family, just make sure u ask for the actual room facilities, e.g. the size of bed, kettle, mini-fridge n so on.

my friend recommend me 360 hotel, but l visited liwah hotel before goes to 360, the room is in good condition, mattress are new, duvet & bedsheet is clean, corridor carpet is going to change next month. the price is reasonable and acceptable for budget traveller like me. l prefer to pay RM 85 pernight instead of RM 40 for a lousy room. friendly services, cosy environment, wifi available and flat screen tv is great for watching movie. definately will come back again. p.s walking distance to water front, the hill shopping complex ( for traveller with extra money to spent), parkson & 3D theatre.

Really need some upgrade as it is an old hotel. The area is a bit hard to find halal restaurant except for the one restaurant which share the same building, but lack in taste. This hotel is good if you have a car, but if you did not have a car, taxi is always available in front of the hotel. Sarawak Plaza is located in walking distance from the hotel.
