We enjoyed our days in the jungle very much. Lisa and Lars are wonderful. We really felt like home, like in a family. But also very relaxed, unbelievable tasty food, nicely decorated rooms. The surrounding landscape - the forest, the river, the hills - all is very beautiful. We had a perfect birthday here. The "wohlfühl"-Highlight of our trip. Thanks... More

This is the second time that I have visited Lars and Liza. It is in a really stunning setting, which is just so peaceful. I am really grateful for them allowing me to stay with them once again. They have a lovely home and a lovely family. Their hospitality is wonderful. Liza, once again cooked some amazing food. Keep up... More

We loved our visit to KuraKura Homestay from stopping at the market for groceries, to traveling on the river, to harvesting ferns with Liza to muddy hiking with Lars. I wished that we has stayed another night for both the activities and the incredible food (weeks later and I am still thinking about Liza's bamboo shoots with wild ginger and... More

Our 4 days/ 3 nights at Kurakura were the highlight of our 2 weeks holiday in Sarawak. Lars and Lisa are great and very hospitable hosts. Lisa is such a good cook! We are vegetarians and the dishes she came up with every day were so yummy! The house is in the middle of the jungle, the river is 2... More

We were staying at the Pullman in Kuching and Lars picked us up from there as arranged. All plans had been made via emails and it was refreshing to not be asked up front for any money. Lets hope that no-one lets you down and changes that arrangement :) The trip out was fine but I hadn't considered going upstream... More

Lisa and Lars were very friendly and welcoming and made us feel part of their family for the time we were there. Lars made us some great coffee and we had a few beers with him... More

By the time we arrived in Kuching we had already seen plenty of wildlife up in Sabah, so for us the stay at Kurkura was for something different. Lars met us at the airport - I liked the fact that he had no nameboard and naturally assumed that we would recognise him and vice versa even though we had never... More

This is an amazing marriage of people, place and local style offering even a solo traveller who likes comfort an outstanding stay in the jungle. We spent 3 nights at Kurakura homestay, right after our arrival in Borneo. What a wonderful stay !!! We really enjoyed it. Lars and Liza are so cool and welcoming that you feel like at home after a few hours. The cooking is absolutely delicious, with à lot of products from their garden and some directly from the jungle.
