Nice easy and relaxed hotel on the outside of Kuching city centre. Friendly staff, clean rooms and a nice swimming pool. Only downside is that maybe they can make the shower curtains longer in order to stop flooding in the bathroom.

We visited Basaga with a family of 4 during 7 days. Brandon was our quide during all stay. We booked a couple of trips, Bako, wind fairy caves, wetland & cultural village. He explained us the best restaurants and arranged transportation. I would highly recommend him if you want to know a bit more of Sarawak. Simply go to the...

Myself and my friend lottie are coming to the end of our holiday and have found it impossible to find a more welcoming and hospitable hotel in Malaysia. Brendan, one of the owners, made us feel completely at home in Kuching and took us to see the surrounding areas along with Tanty, who works alongside him. They were both so...

I've stayed here twice now and have always loved it. It's a really relaxed atmosphere, great staff and great food! And only a 20min walk into Kuching city! Really good for those on a budget as well as they work with the orangutan project and who doesn't love that? %100 recommend

This place has the potential to earn more stars but it is let down by the lack of maintenance and TLC. Booked a courtyard room as it appeared private and secluded with own outside space to relax but it did not live up to my expectations. Room was tired, mouldy, and was in need of a makeover. Outside shower was...

Ok, where do I start? Booked the courtyard room and when we checked in late she was already like are you sure you want this room? Alarm bells went off... went to look and it was at the back, dirty, old, mouldy and not so nice. Outside shower was nice feature if it was maintained, along with the rest of...

Brandon Lim is just incredible. He's a hotel family member and provides great tours. What we'll remember even beyond his tours is his love of sharing Kuching with his guests. To ask Brandon for some advice on where to eat is a joy! Before you know it, he'll have you hop in the car and he'll take you to some...

My wife and I stayed at Basaga for four nights during our last visit to Kuching. In contrast to the hotels in the city center, Basaga offers a more relaxed experience, with a lot of surrounding greenery, a nice pool under big trees, and a bar a little bit away from the hustle and bustle. Yet despite the feeliing of...

My wife and I arrived at Basaga at Midday on 19th March, having already stayed in Sabah the previous two weeks. Our room was still being cleaned and prepared for us, so we were going to leave our luggage and go out exploring, when Brandon Lim, part owner of the hotel appeared on the scene, and offered to take us...

We enjoyed our comfortable and spacious room, the appealing pool and we found the leafy terrace an ideal place to relax in the evening. We used Uber to ride in and out of the city, so Basaga's location was perfectly convenient. Breakfast was basic (we would have enjoyed the addition of fresh fruit), but overall we felt our stay at...
