Stayed 1 night with family, booked 2 rooms .Nice and cozy place. Rooms just nice for couples.Hot during the day, even with air conditioning. FB outlet is open from 7am to 8.30pm daily. Santubong scenery is amazing, beach below pathway. Will definitely come back. Pantry area has a washing machine plus a dryer to wash clothes and it's free. Staff so friendly.

If I could give The Culvert more stars I would.

Let’s start at the beginning, as we booked this back in 2019 and then COVID came along and disrupted not only our plans but everyone’s

We had booked the King Culvert and pleased we did as the Queen Culverts are nice, but the on suite is in the culvert, whereas the Kings have a separate on suite at the rear which gives a little more spare in the main “drain pipe” no I’m now joking, but it’s the best way to describe the concrete structure that is your sleeping space, but a top tip is to either travel lite or as we discovered be prepared to be super tidy!!!!

Right back to COVID, we had to keep cancelling each year until finally we could make the journey this year and it was well worth the wait. (One thing worth mentioning is that the Culvert keep our original full payment and agreed there would be no price increase, we only had to pay the tourism tax, which we didn’t mind and we thanked them for that as we knew we were coming eventually)

Staff check now, apologies if I’ve missed anyone off, they were all friendly, eager to talk and all went the extra mile for us and made our stay so enjoyable. So here goes Ivan top man manager, Vivian, Adele, (Reception), Gilbert chef (thanks for the wonderful meals we had and special thanks for the omelettes in the morning) Raysha, Nana (meals and so much more), Zetty, Budin and Augustine (top people) oh ya and finally to the hotel cats and kittens. Honestly we appreciated you all and thank you for being a part of our holiday.

Private beach, swimming pool, grounds, free car park, fitness room (yes Vivian I haven’t forgotten what you said !!!) and everything thing about this experience will remain with us for a lifetime as we really understood the unique nature of The Culvert. Will definitely return as still so much to see in Sarawak. Oh and the sunsets!!!

We rent standard double room. Design of the room in tube is very creative, just a little less spacious. Those prefer bigger room, there's option to upgrade to bigger room. The staff are friendly. Thanks to Adel from Customer Service desk, and Nana, kitchen staff. Generally, the room, bed sheet and towel are clean. Facilities are great, with 2 swimming pools, sauna room, gym and a deck to view sun set. Those who like strolling along the beach , the beautiful beach is a stone's throw down the resort. Overall wonderful experience.

Highly recommended for nature lover. It felt like camping in the jungle but in a luxurious way. The bed is very comfortable in a room with beautiful sea view and quiet surroundings. Just outside the room, there is cosy seating area for sunsets. Love sitting there for some reading or simply doing nothing is already a retreat for me. Do prepare mosquito repellent if you’re easily bitten type of person. Not to forget, the friendly service from the team especially manager Ivan, he made sure I had a pleasant stay and did his best to ensure I get what I needed. Though things were not completely perfect but it’s their responsible attitude trying to fix things that matters. And big thanks to Ivan giving me a lift to the airport while he knew I was going to miss my flight. Gonna miss this place.

Whether you want to relax or explore - The Culvert has you covered. They arranged our late night airport shuttle pick-up, our shuttle into Kuching waterfront (for a day of exploring), and our Mangrove & Irrawaddy dolphin tour. In addition to this, they also supported us in making phone calls to arrange our transport to the ferry to Bako National park (including luggage storage while we overnight at the park) and our transport from the ferry back to Kuching (while bringing our bags). Once the staff knew I was vegetarian they made vegetarian noodles as part of the breakfast buffet our second morning. Extremely considerate. The resort doesn't have a wide selection of vegetarian meals but can certainly accommodate. There are laundry services available. The grounds are well kept and the rooms are clean. Lastly, you can hear the sounds of the ocean and birds all day and night. If you like to bird watch - this is a great place to kick off your adventure and ease into the biodiversity of Sarawak.

Amazing place. View on the jungle and the sea. Amazing pool. The room are really great but really smaller than on the presentation. You have to climb on the bed to reach the bathroom. And the food is a bit expensive, with few vegetarian options and portion are really small.

This may not be everyone's cup of tea, in staying inside a culvert. For one the space is very limited, not to mention putting your luggages. But it is quite an experience, the jungle setting is fantastic, you can get very nice mountain and sea views, fresh air and sounds of nature.

When we went there that time i didn't see any BBQ facilities. We seeing some part under construct. Actually can try to request. But for my suggestion is not very suitable. But this place more to silent and relex. Night time no much activities. Unless you drive out nearby there is other interested place around 5 KM+ distance. Like lots of sea food restaurant choices.
