I stayed in jinhold for almost 3 months when I did a course in baking.I stayed in a one bedroom apartment, with a bathroom, living room and a small kitchen. The room and bathroom were quite big and the decor is very good.
When I first moved in,the rooms were quite dirty and the hallways were also dirty. The one thing I hate about this hotel is the stairs.
The hotel is located very close to one jaya, which is a shopping district with a mall, many restaurant and small shops.I was always afraid of going out on foot because of the dogs outside the hotel,so a staff had to escort me everytime. The staff were very nice and friendly. They always greeted me with a smile

We recently stayed at an one-bedroom studio apartment while attending a relative's wedding dinner. The apartment is quite basic but since we paid less than RM100 per night for it, there wasn't much to complain. The room didn't come with a hairdryer so we had to request for one from reception which took a long while to be delivered. It's OK for a short stay but if you're looking for a hotel for a family vacation, this might not fit the bill.

I chose this place because it was near my parent's home. Jinhold is a very basic service apartment and we were glad we brought our own toiletries. The beds were comfortable and we were happy with the housekeeping and complimentary bottles drinking water. What we didn't like was the lack of lifts and we had to lug our bags all the way to the 3rd floor. The air con in my duplex apartment was too weak to cool the entire upper floor sleeping area. There wasn't any curtain on the attic window and it was a pain in the morning as I am a light sleeper. The situation was aggravated by the noise from the main road as our block (C) was right next to the highway. The complimentary wifi was useless because it didn't work when one was inside the apartment. Overall I would say this was an okay stay but I probably wouldn't choose this place if I do not need to be in the jalan Song area.

Wifi is bad, room got bad smell. No hair dryer, only one two pillows provided. Air-cond not cold. Have to walk to outside to get the cab. Go to waterfront is not near, taking cab is about RM20. Won't stay here anymore, will check out by tomorrow!

I was expecting a much better experience but alas. Here's why:

- We inspected 3 rooms and all of them had a strong cigarette stench everywhere - on the beds, in the living rooms and even the toilets. The stench got stronger when the air-con was switched on. Seriously, the management needs to clean or replace the air-cons.

- The condition of the rooms was quite old, especially the toilets.

- No lifts so those with heavy luggage had better choose a ground floor unit.

- the lane leading to Jinhold gets very dark at night so it's not safe for ladies (or even guys) to walk alone. i heard a hotel staff will accompany but never asked.

On the flip side:

- I like the fact that there is a separate living room to meet visitors.

- Great location with a Starbucks, Watson and several coffeeshops across the road.

- Car park space is available for those who rented a car.

I insisted on a smoke-free room as stated in my special request emailed to them earlier but they said they were all taken. Really? Is there even a smoke-free room in the first place?

Overall, I would say that you will love this place if you are on a budget, have a large travelling party and are a smoker. If you are like me with an allergy to cigarette smoke, please steer clear. Other than the cigarette stench, I would have given this place 3 stars.

The rooms are clean & have everything you need for a studio. It's quiet at night but, in the morning (around 8am), expect to hear the housekeepers screaming at each other from floor to floor. They will knock on your door at 9am. This is a problem if you want to sleep in.
The location is quite good. There is a park within walking distance & a large food court within walking distance too. Lots to explore in the neighbourhood. Cafes, restaurants, malls, etc.
Parking is free & plentiful. Make sure you lock your doors with the key provided because they do not lock automatically even when you try to open it from the outside.

Love this place. Wouldn't mind staying here again. Rooms and living area, kitchenette were nice, clean and equipped with cutlery, plates, pans, etc. Air-cond was abit noisy in the living room but ok. Staffs were helpful and polite. Tho this place is not located in city centre but Kuching is really a place that is easily accessible with a rented car...no jams and easy directions. Breakfast is yummy with mee rebus, toast (butter, kaya, jam) coffee/ tea/ juice/ cut fruits. There are no pools here, just a very comfortable & clean apartment to rest after all those jungle trekking & shopping!

Jinhold Serviced Apartments provides comfortable, middle-of-the-road accommodation on Jalan Song. Ideal if you like catering for yourself: there's a fridge, electric hotplate, and rice cooker, as well as the expected electric kettle and daily supplies of tea, coffee, and drinking water. I did not take breakfast at Jinhold. Precinct 88 is a couple of minutes' walk away, with lots of cheap food outlets (nasi lemak for RM3.50, for example) and a number of suburb-type shops. A taxi to the city centre (e.g. Sarawak Museum or the Waterfront) is about RM20, and the ride to the airport is even quicker. Plenty of parking space. Everything worked, and I was glad to have air conditioning in both the living room and the bedroom.

We went with a group of friends and we arrived pretty early at the apartment. The standard check in time was at 3, but we arrived around noon and we were assigned a unit as soon as we arrive. The downside of this place is that there is no lift and our unit were at the 3rd floor.

However rooms were nicely arranged and our stay was cosy and nice.
Location was not too far away from town, about 15 minutes drive away and there was a Starbucks just walking distance about 10 minutes from the apartment.
I will consider staying again in this place if I'm going to Kuching for holiday again.

When this review was written, we 5 aduls are still staying at this 2 room unit apartment. First impression it was very clean, all amenities are in good condition, air condition, hot water shower, big room and free airport/hotel transfers were offered. An MPV Toyota Alphard greeted us at the airport, a 10 minute ride to the hotel. Registration was quick and no hassle. Being a low level apartment there is no lift, so elderlies do take the ground floor.

Room WiFi was very strong and surfing the net was amazing...rated high for this apartment. Kuching was hit by power blackout ..and this Apartment was not spared...4 hrs one night and again the next morning....had a enjoyable river cruise and visit to Sarawak Cultural Village...besides the souvenir of ikan Tarubuk masin and kek lapis...
