This home stay is a great value for the money. It is 10 min walk from the city center. The owner is incredibly helpful with all sorts of information. The room is simple but clean and comfortable. I stayed in an air conditioned room. That was great. The shared bathrooms are perfectly clean. The shared living room is cosy and have a laptop to use. The hotel has wifi.

We felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. In fact, we extended our stay from 2 to 8 nights!

The place is nice and clean. The rooms offer enough space for storage. The bathroom is clean and the showers work well. You can easily ask for new towels and bed linen if necessary.

Moi is a lovely host. She wants her guest to enjoy the stay in Kuching. You can easily contact her via WhatsApp if you have any questions. She helps you with information and also with booking tours if you are interested.

There is a Chinese restaurant downstairs (the staff is also veryyy nice). Any store you need is nearby (mini mart, supermarket, pharmacy, smaller stores, restaurants). It‘s only a 10 minute walk to the waterfront.

We would definitely come back to this place!

Just one thing: If you are a light sleeper, room no 1 might be too noisy for your because of the street noise from outside. Nevertheless we slept very well even though it was noisy sometimes - maybe because we felt so comfortable staying at this place.

We stayed for 1 night at Traveller Homestay and really appreciated how helpful the host, Moi, was. We contacted her by WhatsApp when we were enroute to Kuching, and by the time we arrived, she was able to book us a river cruise to the Kuching National Wetlands park with CPH Travel Agency. It was perfect for our needs, as we were able to see crocodiles, proboscis monkeys, macaques, fireflies and visit a fishing village, as well as get dropped off at Top Spot food court for seafood, which was walking distance from the homestay (and which we wanted to visit because Anthony Bourdain had recommended it -- we found it affordable and delicious with amazing service!). The homestay itself was very cozy and charmingly decorated, and we felt very safe there and well looked after, particularly by Moi who was very caring and attentive to all our needs. The homestay is very well located and walking distance from everything. We were able to buy bous (bread buns) and durian snacks, visit the bank, purchase mosquito repellent, and do our laundry at the nearby 24-hour self-serve laundromat (a lifesaver after spending several days in the jungle in Mulu)! Our one regret was not having time to taste Moi's coffee, which is roasted right at the homestay and smelled so delicious! Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality, Moi :) We wish you warm blessings and hope to see you again in the future!

Really enjoyed my stay @ Traveller Homestay. I stayed for two weeks (holiday/work) and really loved the traditional home and the experience. I stayed in room no. 3 and the bed is big, the aircon is really good, the room is clean and I could even use my European electricity plug. Wifi is good.

As a solo traveller it is a very nice thing to have a homebase while doing some excursions and other activities. Even when I was away for three days Moi (the owner) let me store the luggage I didn't bring on my trip. I felt really safe to leave my belongings with her. Moi will make sure you have everything you need and more. She will arrange taxi drivers and tours for much better prices and with really nice guides. When I told her I forgot my interglot in a cafe, next morning she told me she called the cafe to make sure it was there (so sweet).

A little bit noisy sometimes as the traditional walls and windows are very thin and in the morning when the downstairs cafe is opening. But the cafe is adding something to the traditional experience for me. Had the dry noodles and the coffee several times starting my day. Great thing to see Moi and her family having such a nice and "busy with locals" cafe.

The location to me was on the best street in Kuching. So many nice traditional shops. Also easy to use Grab.

No doubt for me that I will be back next time.

My stay at Traveller Homestay was like being at home. It's a small (just 6 rooms) charming hotel owned by Moi, who treated me as part of her family and really took care of me, helping with the parks information and bookings and managing a taxi to the airport.
The room (n. 5) was very comfortable and clean... the most important to me. And the aircon worked very well. The living room is perfect for a relax evening with a movie.
Also the hotel have a good location, a short walk from coffees and restaurantes.
Definitely stay here again! Super recommend it!!

Moï's guesthouse is just perfect, the place is very well decorated and so charming! It's also pretty well situated since it's only 15 to 20 min walk to the city center. Moï, the owner is so nice and will do everything possible in order that you have the best stay. She will walk you to the bus stop so you don't take the wrong one and we even received goodbye gifts.
The only address if you're in Kutchin (without saying Kuching is an awesome city)
Thanks again for everything Moï!

We just got back from spending two nights at Traveller Homestay. It is a very unique guesthouse and the furnishings are beautiful and comfortable- you can see that the owner Moi has taken great care and interest in running an excellent guesthouse. It is very clean, there is a common area with DVD's and a laptop to use and also a lot of information about things to do in and around Kuching. The rooms have lovely views over "New Chinatown" and there is a lovely roof top terrace. If I were to stay again I would stay in a room with a window to side street to avoid the traffic noise early in the morning, as it is located on a very busy street. When we were there the water pressure was good, you just had to wait a couple of minutes for the hot water and water pressure to turn on after you start the shower. The guesthouse is above a small café and you can get cheap, delicious meals there as well. Overall Traveller was an excellent place to stay and we will not hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: If you want to avoid the street noise, I would ask for a room on the side or on a higher floor.

We have been travelling for over 5 months straight, and it is no exaggeration to say that we have never before experienced the helpfulness and kindness of the hosts at Traveller Homestay. Moi and Victor go to great lengths to help with anything you may need, often before you even think of asking. They really try their best to make their guests' time in Kuching the best it can be. The accomodation itself is great - super clean and comfortable, with drinks and fruit always available - but it is the way the owners care for their guests that sets this homestay apart from anywhere else we've stayed.

This is a true homestay, 4 small, tidy rooms, 2 clean bathrooms, cozy common area with drinks and snacks, good breakfast and lots of personal advice from owner Moi.

Our room was small, but very clean, air-con worked perfectly, nice lighting (definitely not a given in this price range). Slight noise from the street didnt bother us (room 1&2 face the street, 3&4 the back alley). The whole floor has a very nice, homey feel.

Breakfast changed every day and we got to try some Chinese dishes from the adjoint restaurant. Moi was extremely friendly and welcoming and had very helpful advice for us (even walked is to the bus station one day). We most highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a
simple, comfortable and clean place with a personal note and great value for money.
