We are on leisure trip with our friends and family. We have booked Beach House 1 and a Chalet. The beach house is not being well-maintained at all! Filthy airconds in all the rooms despite we have switched it on for couple of hours and we can’t even feel the cold. Don’t you want to imagine the rooms on the second floor in the beach house was like a sauna room and we discovered the aircond fencing is super super dirty! Solar power system isn’t functioning well as promised. We pretty much understood about water saving concept and shortage of water in Lundu, the least we could expect was hot water or lukewarm water during a hot day as we have kids who were travelling together with us. Not happening! Needless to mention about the next day was a rainy day and all of us have to shower in the cold! How disappointing! On a bright side, the Chalet has so much better conditions compared to the Beach House. At least there’s lukewarm water for us to bath! We will definitely not recommend anyone to book Beach House instead I would rather book 3 units of Chalet vs a Beach House as it is really not worth the price that we had paid for! It would be highly appreciated if management team could look into all the issues and looking forward to a improvement.

We regret that you have experienced these issues during your stay. Our team at Retreat would be more than happy to resolve the water and aircon issues as soon as you have raised these issues to our reception. We wish to clarify that our water heater at Beach House 1 is electrical based, not solar system based as stated. We have immediately checked our aircon system and found them to be functioning normally. You may contact us at 082-453027 for further clarifications.

I’ve been to many resorts/hotel before and this is by far has the worst customer service. The staffs in the cafe are not friendly as when my partner wanted to ask something from the waitress she just pretend to see my partner and just rush off.. All my partner wanted to ask was where was his food for breakfast... We ordered bihun goreng and we waited almost an hour for a bihun goreng and the waitress just buat buat tak tahu and walked away.. also the receptionist, especially the girls are very not welcoming, giving us bad looks from the corner of their eye when we wanted to check in.. however, the reception guy was awesome and friendly.. Deposit of RM200 when check in is just crazy for a retreat that uses solar for hot water and salty pool and stained curtains.. there wasn’t even a mini fridge in the room.. truly below my expectation and i would love it if they could just improve on their customer service and friendliness and also most importantly cleanliness... probably my first and last time to visit this resort.. dont really feel welcomed at the first place anyways.. would definitely not recommend ppl to go here.. go basaga, right next door.. better customer service and more clean..

I really don't know where should I start. First of all, the booking website were so confusing there were so many room types. And then I called the resort the price online and the price booking by phone were different. I took the premier chalet. With a note, one king size bed as i travel with my one year old daughter as there were choices for one king size or one queen bed & one single.
As expected, on the arrival, they dont even take note of my request for a king size bed. They simply give away whichever room available.
Upon entering the room, everything is a let down. From the bed, to the facilities, to the cleanliness. They cant even tidy the room properly. Broken furniture, smelly armchair. Not to mention the satelite tv only have 2 channel. Not even tv3 or ntv7.
The worst part is that, the beach house next door is having a party. We came there to enjoy the beach, the sea. And what we get is people screaming, laughing up until midnight. When the house only suppose to hold 5 people there are more than 10 people on that night. That not including the kids. Might just be fifteen of them. I even lost count.
Other thing to remark is that the beach is nothing to look foward to. I dont mind if the water is not blue or anything but rubbish. I cant even find a spot to lay a mat and enjoy the view. How can we tolerate that ? What is the purpose of staying at a beach resort, if you cant even enjoy the beach. By nightime, i couldnt handle it anymore, i cried in my room. I have never been in any place as dissapointing as this. My eyes just welled while typing this. What a pity.
I dont even travel on the weekend, i travel on Monday. I can't even imagine the crowd on weekend. How busy it must be. But afterall this is just my experience, i hope yours is better than mine.

Check-in deposit Rm200 is to much for this lousy resort. Restraunt open up for breakfast late at 730am. The manager talk rude to customer. Service suck. It's like staying in army camp. Nothing to do at night.

we want to know information about room rate and room type instead of giving us the answer she ask questiön with not happy voice tone. She expects customer to make her job easier by not asking question but just let her know when to check in. When we insisted her to give the the answer, and she answered normaly customer dont ask information. That was my first time experience to encountter such a lousy service. Of course we need to know the room rate and type before booking. Worse part later she just answered different day different rate, full stop she just silent, i was like waiting for her explaination what does she means by different day, different rate. So i asked what she means and with not happy tone she explained nonestop and we got mixed up with room rate and room type. And at the end she said no more room available. We certified that this view based on my own experience. Please understand not everybody know how to get online to search information.

Was there for a night with my family and my extended family. Booked their penthouse room which has 2 rooms and can sleep 6 in a room. it has a nice living room with a beach view, while my in laws room was facing the forest.

it is not a big property, but there is a beach house which can stay up to 10 pax, while there are also chalets for rent. There are also deluxe and superior rooms and hostel rooms as well. Overall, the arrangement in the properties is nice. there is a pool and a BBQ area as well and a spa center.

However, this trip around, there is a huge problem with the water. Appreantly, i think there were a number of busted pipes on the road in. Also, the front desk closes at around midnight, so it would be difficult for you to pick up things u might need such as blankets.

The rooms came with breakfast and dinner, and the meal was okay only, nothing too fanciful.

The resort is about 2 hours from Kuching and about 1/2 hours from Lundu town.

Will go again when decide to get out of kuching for a night or two..

Just back from Yes Retreat, the overall experience was not as good as the 1st time i went about 3-4 years back, although a lot of new facilities has been added to the resort, however a few things to point out here,

1. There was no inner lock in the deluxe room.
2. No hair dryer
3. TV program was not clear.
4. The swimming pool was very dirty and smelly, child pool water has started to turn greenish.
5. Beach was very dirty and full of glasses and debris.

I hope the management of this resort will seriously look into the area i stated above, thank you

Thanks to Prisilla Latip (Front Office)

She manage to get me a beautiful room facing the beach. Although it's raining and high tide but I still enjoy the scenery. Will surely recommended to friends and family about this area. And for sure I will come back. May be not in monsoon season hahahah. The Resort area were nice and clean. The breakfast was sufficient. not so many people was the best part you where you can enjoy sitting at the bench chair looking over the oceanand released your stress.

The road to the resort was rather rocky and bumpy. Checking in at the reception was swift. We had the Penthouse with sea view. The carpet in the bedrooms felt dirty, no room slippers were provided for our stay. Having to pay RM600 for a night to accommodate six people, only four were entitled to their free breakfast and dinner. Food was average, nothing to rave about. Refills were slow when food ran out. It was odd that no drinking water was provided during the meals other than syrups.

Maybe it was sheer bad luck that during our one-night stay there was very limited water supply. At some point, there wasn't any water at all. We had no choice but to cleanse ourselves with pathetic droplets of water from the shower. The management didn't bother with any announcements whatsoever. No intercom telephone was provided for our room, so we had to march down 3 floors of stairs to issue a complaint. There are no lifts at the resort by the way. So, pack light!

Staff were under-trained, responding poorly to our inquiries over the water supply issue. One even joked that we could just soak ourselves in the (filthy, crowded) pool. Towards the end of our stay, we called the resort's office in Kuching city to request for a partial refund for the disappointing experience.

The place sure looks good, but with sub-par hospitality standards. All in all, never coming back here again!

Booked the beach house, the rooms was big and the cleanliness of the rooms was okay but the shower system doesn't work well as it do not come with the hot water. It was really cold to shower during morning and night time.

Also cannot request for additional pillows. They will charge for rm5 each. Although is cheap but you would not want to pay for extra fees just for a pillow.

Next, is about the swimming pool. They are not cleaning the pool all the time but maybe during the peak season only. The swimming pool water was so dirty ( pool is green color and couldn't see clear inside the water). Hence, we complained to the front counter and then they just started to clean at the second day. But they only manage to finish clean it on the third day where we have not enough time to go to swim at the swimming pool. Felt so unhappy about the poor facilities and management. Doesn't worth with the price and I would not visit here again!
