Travellers' Choice
Cove 55 is an Ethnic-Inspired Hideaway where the naturally untainted foot of Mount Santubong gently welcomes the undulating South China Sea. Where tribal elements subtly influence contemporary sensibilities. Ethnic luxury takes on a refreshingly renewed and refined form at Cove 55. Built originally as a holiday home for an Iban family, the sprawling property is now reborn as an intimate retreat. A private hideaway that’s infinitely customisable to personal tastes and differing occasions. Guests seeking to connect with nature will appreciate the stylish expanse of the overwater platform, designed to seamlessly blend the edge of the infinity pool with the horizon of the South China Sea. Sipping on mixologist crafted cocktails served straight from the pool bar, it’s easy to lose track of your idyllic time here marvelling at a glorious sunset behind the mountain, or simply enjoying a good book in your lap.

Living in Kuching City but wanted a weekend away from the hustle & bustle of the city, we booked 1 night at Cove 55 with my family (2 adults & 2 children 8, 1yo). It was also our eldest son bday and we wanted to give him a nice surprise. Thankfully, Management had arranged few surprises (room deco, personalised welcome board, little cake) ! Our son loves this place. It is our second time there and we always enjoy the calm surroundings and love spending the time at the poolside. Kids had much fun even with no TV in the room, we planned ahead and brought some board games to have some quality (off-screen) time. We noticed also that the hotel is always very clean and well maintained which makes us want to come over again.

Cove 55 is blessed with a great location and beautiful scenery. These however are to be expected in breathtaking Sarawak. Still Cove 55 manages to stand out because their spacious rooms and whitewashed buildings with pristinely kept grounds compliment their natural giftings, perfectly. To top it all off, staff are well trained and understand service. Ideal for intimate couple holidays. May not be suitable for families.

Had my wedding here recently and the team at Cove has been nothing but friendly and amazing. Organizing a wedding in the midst of a pandemic is definitely challenging but we actually pulled it through. The place is clean, well taken care of, and it has the most beautiful scenery as it is located by the beach with Mount Santubong as its backdrop. Bear in mind that you will not have access to the beach but there is an infinity pool and gym available for the guests. The food there is amazing. Breakfast is included but bear in mind that if you are planning to have ala carte lunch or dinner, the price may be a bit on the higher end. But trust me, it is definitely worth it. To the Cove team, if you are reading this, thank you so much for being a part of our big day. We are still over the moon that we manage to pull of our wedding at the most beautiful resort in Sarawak if not in Borneo. We can't wait for the overwater villas and mangrove villas to be completed. We will definitely come back!
