Stayed 3 nights. Very central and useful entrance to adjoining shopping centre including food court . So close to everything …. Right on top of the waterfront and footbridge. Rooms getting a little dated - no USB chargers yet in the wall outlets - but spacious . Daily servicing . Breakfast fantastic. Staff helpful.
Most co-operative staff render service with smile.. Comfortable room nicely furnished. Superb location. Attached shopping mall which is good for shopping and time pass. Also serving nice vegetarian breakfast as our group was vegetarian. Enjoyed stay.
We stayed here for 2 nights recently. The location is great - close to the padang, the museums and many eateries. Plaza merdeka, which is a pretty large mall, can also be accessed directly from the hotel via the lobby or elevators. Mirzan assisted us on arrival and arranged for an early check-in. He was very helpful, polite, shared a lot of info on places to visit and names of various local dishes that we could try. He was exceptionally efficient, friendly and polite. The room was clean, comfortable and had a great view. However, when we ordered in room service one night, the vegetarian friend rice we chose was not purely vegetarian - the garnishes on the side consisted of fried shrimp. Believe the kitchen staff might need more inputs on what constitutes as vegetarian. A couple…
Check in.. Whilst the check in team was kind enough to explore a slightly earlier check-in as my mum had fallen down and had to clean up.. The person in charge was not very customer service friendly. I asked numerous attempts for an estimated time to check in.. All he said every time. " I don't know.. Please wait". After a while. I insisted he check with housekeeping and he finally gave me the answer. I think some of the front desk team member (s) need some soft skills training. That said.. Nurshema (front desk) was brilliant. . Internet was consistently slow but adequate for messages and emails... Not for critical business video calls. I was prewarned at check in. Room service was nice but slow...Understandably during the busy lunchtime over the weekend. Very convenient…
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at The Waterfront Kuching. Being the only 5-star boutique hotel in the area, The Waterfront Kuching is able to provide top-notch service, at the same time maintaining a pretty affordable rates. It’s location is very strategic and if you are looking to explore around Kuching city area. IG: Travelfoodie.my Website: mylostvoyager.com
We stayed one night on 25.8.22. We came to check in at 2.30 pm but unfortunately was told the room would not be ready until an hour’s time. After waiting for half an hour and seeing my wife so tired, I went to tell off receptionist. Just 5 minutes later I got the room, 707. It was a nice tidy and spacious room facing river. The sink and bath were all in good order. Towels and bed sheets were clean. All staff particularly Front desk manager Royee were friendly and nice. Breakfast was acceptable. This hotel is in a very good location in the centre of the town with a fairly big mall abutting the hotel. I might try their executive floor and lounge in next trip.
The hotel is in a good location, with great views of the state assembly building, right next to the old courthouse and also connected to a large shopping mall, which was convenient for a few essentials. It seems to be used a lot for weddings (2 of the 3 nights we were there), so assume you'll eat out and not in the hotel (a windowless buffet breakfast restaurant isn't the best location for dinner anyway!). The pool is nice though, although it was pretty busy with kids in the afternoon. There aren't enough lifts for the hotel, and we often had to wait quite a while to get into the lifts. One drawback is how close it is to the mosque, and the call to prayer is very loud indeed. So we were woken up at 5.30 a.m. every day! Highly recommend Zinc restaurant for a great…
Booked through Agoda.com a Premier Twin Room with view with pictures showing River views. However, upon check in, we were told that this only referred to City views of the Borneo Cultural Museum & Padang Merdeka (also very nice views but no nightly Fountain & Light show at the River - a tad disappointed!). Check in is rather strict at 3pm but we managed a small upgrade to a Family room (same 32 sqm size but with 2 Queen Beds instead of Twin beds) at 2.30pm. Hotel is only 7 years old, very new, with a nice enough smallish covered infinity pool on the 4th floor. Swim at 7am without a lifeguard or from 8am with a lifeguard. The Gym on the 5th floor is also smallish, with various types of work out machines but has only one giant sized treadmill. Located on top of the Plaza…
Rooms fine but not a lot of drawer space.Bathroom really nice but nowhere to hang towels but no towels in room on arrival & safe not working. Not at all impressed that there is not a bar for guests. The only bar is the pool bar alongside the semi Indoor pool which is not what one wants from a lounge bar & dosent open until 3pm.Description on booking com says two pools but this is not the case. The on-site dinning is only the breakfast room that is used for lunch & dinner with no atmosphere. Staff seem very pleasant & helpful but it did take two days to get the safe fixed. Hotel very convenient for river front but no bars or cafes open in the daytime. Plenty of food outlets & cafe in adjoining mall .
3rd times staying at this hotel & its never disappointed me at all. Room is spacious & clean. Comfy bed & food so good. Easy access to all locations. Will come again to Kuching & stay at same hotel after this.
