First time staying in this serviced apartment which is a home away from home. The 1-bedroom premier apartment was a decent size with a large separate living and dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The rooms are very clean and serviced daily with other facilities i.e. outdoor pool, gym and self-service laundry. Beds are very comfortable. Staff members are always very helpful 24/7. The apartment building lobby is very secure too as it is on the 6th floor which means it is only limited to guests staying at this accommodation>
Somerset Damansara is also linked to The Starling Mall next door and you will be spoilt for the choice food as there are quite a number of restaurants, a food court and a supermarket in the mall. There are also many food choices outside and around the Damansara Uptown area.
As for transportation, there is the Starling Mall free shuttle which takes you to either the MRT and LRT stations and 1 Utama shopping mall.
It is a convenient and comfortable place to stay and will definitely be my choice next time round.

Check in and check out was a breeze, reception always responsive and helpful. House keeping a bit short handed. But service recovery well coordinated. Though rooms had rubbish bins, Placement of large bins in service lift lobby would be great for disposal of larger trash bags etc vs having to leave it outside room doors. Odors in the hallways overnight can be avoided. The minor shortfalls did not overshadow the positive stay experience. And staff always ready to rectify/address any requests.

What can I say about Somerset Damansara Uptown? In 3 words: Delightful, relaxing, comfortable. The 2-bedrooms apartment which we stayed for 1 month, is spacious, well maintained with a good size kitchen and washing machine, and the bedding is firm enough for a restful night's sleep. The staff were all pleasant and polite, from Punes in Sales & Marketing, the Front Desk, the Breakfast team, Security, to the Cleaning staff like Dabal, made our stay all the more memorable. The facilities like the gym and the oasis of a short tree-lined walking track (which was amazingly cool) kept us healthy. Another big plus is the excellent location next to Starling Mall and many other surrounding eateries and shops nearby. We will certainly stay Somerset Damansara Uptown again! We used to love somerset and this is our default whenever we come to Pj. It’s location cannot be faulted with access to so many eateries amenities in uptown and starling mall directly connected so you’re spared the heat.
But on our last stay, it was so dirty. When we checked in the room was full of flies, think like fruit flies but about 50-100 flying about (we had a 2 bedroom apartment). We immediately asked them to give us a new room but they offered to spray the room instead which they did and it got rid of about half.
On 2 nights there were roaches in the toilet and the floor felt like it needed a good mop. We informed them of the roaches and all they did was apologize.
I’m not sure if I would return.

I was sleeping in the room, and suddenly the sound system started at 2.30am in the morning. The remote was placed at the table so there's no chance of me hitting the switch on button by mistake. I switch it off, but after 5 mins, it started again out of nowhere. It was so scary, i rushed to the reception at 2.45 in morning to look for help. Also, i asked them if someone visit my room daily to do cleaning in my absence, they didi had any proper records to check this. This was very scary for me to see the sound bar getting started out of nowhere by its own. I couldn't sleep that full night and the next day I was forced to change the room. I had to pack all my bags, wrap up my kitchenette and shift to another room. Very scary and pathetic experience with my stay and I don't recommend it at all.

My birthday was on the 11th #neverforget. I didn't ask if my friends told the reception it was for a birthday because there were no complimentary cake. My friends booked a few rooms. My family had the 1 bedroom apartment. The toilet is huge, no tub, 2 towels, 1 hair towel, no face towel. The kitchenette is fully stocked with a full size fridge. They didn't really check their amenities so I didn't get bedroom slippers, bathrobes & pen. This is small matters but if they're not alert to this god knows what else they miss.
Pool is by reservation as usual, because of Covid. which is great. You get the keycard from the reception. My kids gets the 7am slot which is fine but there was only 1 unused towels beside a pile of used towels.
Breakfast will be sent to the room as per accordance to Covid SOP. They have a fixed menu. We had 2 sets of fried mee and guava juice.
I will continue my review for the 2nd weekend in another post.

Pros : Stayed here a number of times, mainly because of its well maintained, and neat. Also, you can't fault its location. I appreciate that the hotel provided 2 packs of personal protection packs in the room (mask & alcohol wipes) as they come really handy now especially during the c19 pandemic. I also like that they now have a water machine placed on the same floor where you can get filtered water easily, instead of providing bottled water.
Cons : Dust in the cupboards, drawers and windows. Stained towels - got them changed twice.

This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. We usually stay at least 3 nights. The biggest issue with this hotel is cleanliness and housekeeping. The room is quite dusty, especially the ceiling fan. There is no housekeeping at all for our room throughout the stay despite numerous calls have been made. End up we called front desk to get us towel at least. Although they said housekeeping is from 9am to 5pm, I just couldn't figure out how they could miss our room. If they missed out on the first day, they should at least schedule the housekeeping early on the second day. No choice, we got to place the garbage outside our room, i guess it happened to others guests as well. Anyway, when we check out we complaint about the issue again, they admitted that they were short handed. I hope they could resolve this issue soon and train the housekeeping staffs well. Although there was daily housekeeping during my last visit, the staff did not do a thorough clean.

A lot of good restaurant just within a walking distance. Can get any thing at starling mall which just next to it as well. The washing machine only available at the 2 bed room suite. Hotel will charge rm20 should you want to use their laundry facility

2) From Taman Bahagia LRT, you can take RapidKL feeder bus T784 which will go around the Damansara Uptown shops.
3) There's Grab.
4) Taxis are usually available at Tmn Bahagia LRT and they use metre.
There are more places to choose from in the Petaling Jaya area.
