This was my second stay in this hotel. The first was when the hotel newly opened, so any hiccups would have been expected then. However the problems encountered now showed this hotel is having trouble running a smooth operation. Pros: nice new room; pretty decent view (although there is construction going on, you can still see KL tower, merdeka 118 and partial KLCC twin towers in the distance); good amenities within the room, housekeeping was efficient and courteous. Cons: 1) service was poor. No one welcomed us at the entrance. There was only one porter working. Had to wait for him to attend to another guest before he could unload our luggage from the car. Desk staff didn’t bother with basic greeting at check in. Staff in charge of pool towels had no clue about their rooms, I requested for 4 pool towels but was told they provide a maximum of 3 towels per room, I had to explain to him that I was staying in their 2-bedroom suite which is suppose to be for 4 adults, even with this explanation he doesn’t seem to understand. 2) buffet breakfast was underwhelming. At this point, I am really confused as to what hotel star-rating they are aiming for. On one hand the buffet spread was good. But on the other hand, there was no personal egg station (they only had the choice of sunny side up and omelette which was cooked in batches), there was no one manning the noodle station (they didn’t explain to us that we were supposed to cook the noodles by ourselves). The buffet cost RM68 per adult and RM34 per child. This is high compared to One World Hotel which charged RM50 per adult and RM25 per child (and their spread and quality was so much better). Worst of all, the food served wasn’t very delicious. (eg Tandoori chicken and naan bread were hard and dry). 3) Room hallway was very dimly lit. Makes you feel like you are walking into a floor that wasn’t meant to be opened. Overall there is much room for improvement. For the price they are charging, you would expect better quality of service. Would be very hesitant to return. I would prefer to stay in One World Hotel instead.

On arrival it looks very modern and functional. It didn’t take long for things to go wrong. Loud dripping in the aircon meant maintenance were in the room in the middle of the night before a day full of meetings. That coupled with chairs being scraped on the floor above and water whooshing around the pipes meant trouble sleeping for the weary traveller. Staff were untrained at best, with problems at every turn and more often than not a ‘no’ on any request - from organising a hotel car to asking to see the menu at the restaurant to see what local food they have on offer before choosing where you’d like to eat (you can only see the menu if you have already chosen the restaurant). Even simple things like ordering a coke at the pool meant multiple questions and queries and ultimately, the incorrect order (which I was then guilt tripped into paying for). The gym looked good but don’t put goggles on in the pool, you’ll see swirls of black dirt, I’m not sure how often it is cleaned. I think the management need to get a grip and focus on the customer more, not what’s easier for the staff as they’ve lost a customer here. Never again.

It’s been years since my last visit back to KL, Avante was one of two hotels I’ve stay throughout the week. I choose Avante since it was still new, and their studio room attracted me to book. Be expect to greet by a grand lobby upon checking-in (which is far too grand for hotels like this). The hotel which located near to One Utama Mall and a MRT station, it also has a convention centre/ballroom in the hotel. It links within the mall and the MRT station as well. Everything feel grand and “Avant-Garde” until I step into the room, it still has the cheap (pardon my language) construction smell once you get into the room. Nevertheless, I still love the layout of the room which has a full size living area, a small eating table next to a small kitchenette. It also has electric stove, all the utensils and pans if you prefer to cook yourself a light meal – microwave is also available in this room (I’m guessing it’s only available from Studio onwards?). I love the simple carpet design the blends well into the furnishing. However, it’s really the construction quality which might turnoff guests like myself. There were still paint scraps on my window… there’s also sewer smell from my toilet during my 3 nights stay there that comes and goes. The drainage aren’t the best ones as well in the shower cubicle (it’s a new hotel!). The hotel pool was one of the nicer things in the hotel – huge pool overlooking the PJ neighborhood, and KL city if you go far. The rooftop restaurant which isn’t under the hotel is nice as well. Would I come back? Probably not.. would I recommend? Probably yes for it’s location, rate and the simple design of the hotel. During the time when I wrote this review, the hotel is rated 3.5/5 in TripAdvisor. I recommend the management to improve some of the simplicity of hospitality to welcome the guests better. It has potential, but first, get rid of the smell and slowly re-investigate the rooms by floor.

Guests can't use pool facilities due to a wedding and all day events. Management advises tough luck we make good money from weddings. Guests are of no interest to them. Bad service and customer guest experience unacceptable. Urinated sheets in bedding. Agil staff reception failure. 1 star service. 4 star not.

Stayed 4 night for business. The overall experience as below: What I like: 1. Clean room 2. Spacious bathroom/toilet/good toiletries 3. Toilet seat with bidet water spray 4. Comfortable bed (for its price) 5. Bright lighting 6. Easy access walk to 1U Shopping Center covered (rain no problem) What I don’t like: 1. Pillow too soft for my liking. Need to stack 3. 2. Toilet and shower separator doors are hard to open and close (design flaw) 3. In room dining choices and taste (need to improve)

Was at this hotel for 2 nights checking in on Boxing Day and my experience as follows: 1) Parking Plenty of Parking Bays available for hotel guests to park from Level 2 to Level 6. Parking is spacious and free during our stay. Just get it validated at the reception and then insert it into the autopay machine before exiting. 2) Lobby and Reception Hotel Lobby is ok and spacious with a few seating area although the front reception area to check in is a bit narrow. Not sure why on Boxing Day, only 2 counters are opened for check in. I had to wait for about 15 minutes before being attended to due to only 2 counters being opened. Lobby area is busy and crowded during Boxing Day as expected. 3) Check In Experience Check in was quite messy. Eventhough i book directly from the Hotel Avante Website, the front desk seems to be unsure about my booking details etc as well as my package entitlements. I think the hotel is being too ambitious to offer several packages and/or promo on their own website and ended up the hotel own staffs are unsure about the details. My check in was really messy because the hotel thought i only booked for 1 night stay when in fact, i had paid for 2 nights stay. Really hope the hotel can improve on this aspect. 4) Lift to Rooms and Car Parks All lifts at this hotel is quite compact, can only fit up to 8 pax maximum per lift without luggage. Therefore, there is a huge line to get to the lift. This is apparent during peak hours. But i guess nothing can be done or improved on this as this is more on building and structural aspect. 5) Room 2012 and 2013 Both our superior room face the infinity pool. It was quiet and windows are well insulated. I can hardly hear any traffic noise or noises from corridors/other rooms. Two thumbs up on that. Room and bathroom size is compact but this is expected for superior room. It is of acceptable size. While the pillows are of acceptable quality and bouncy, i feel that the matress, comforter and linen use for the bed are of budget quality. It doesnt feel comfortable or luxury at all. The mattress is on the firm side. As for the bathroom, the sliding door is quite difficult to slide. Water pressure is ok (there is no rainshower). The shower gel/shampoo provided is of cheap quality. Overall, i think the room is ok and value for money as long as you are not expecting a luxury room standard. 6) Wifi Wifi signals are slow in our rooms. I find it difficult to watch videos on youtube smoothly due to weak signals. 7) Buffet Breakfast The ambience and environment at the Hotel Coffee House is quite good partly because the breakfast area is huge with plenty of tables. Breakfast spread is just average in my opinion. Some of the items that tasted nice are the croissant, chee cheong fun, prawn mee soup and chicken rendang. Coffe machine quality is not bad too. Not sure why the hotel decided to serve spring roll, cha koi and curry puff in the buffet covered tray, as a result of the vaper, everything is soggy. They should serve it open air/uncovered. I am sure the chef can figure this out. Overall, the breakfast is just so-so but the environment is good and relaxing. 8) Hotel Reception Keep Calling Our Rooms We booked for 3 days 2 nights from 26 Dec to 28 Dec and book directly on the Hotel avante own website. However, on 27 Dec, the front desk called our room at about 1235pm and informed us that we have exceeded the check out time 12 noon. Not sure why the hotel system cannot capture our booking properly and correctly. The same thing happened again on 28 Dec, we were given late check out at 3pm (due to us booking the hotel special package which includes dinner), but once again, the hotel front desk called us at about 1220pm and asked us to check out. I really feel the hotel management or reservation team or hotel booking system or the hotel website booking system must be improved. It was messy, irritating and made us felt very unwelcomed in many ways. Because of this, I had to go down to the reception on Ground Floor and clarify with the on duty front desk officer on my booking. I had to do this clarifications on both days during my stay. I believe this is something that could have been avoided. Overall, this hotel is a good modern simple hotel to stay as it is connected to MRT and 1Utama. But if the rate is too expensive, then this hotel is really not worth to stay. Only stay if the rate is reasonable because the hotel system and hotel management are messy.

We stayed here for two nights. Whilst check-in was fast and professional, we were not warned about the incredibly noisy bar with live band two floors above us. We requested a high floor and we're assigned level 32. I've since read many reviews complaining about the late-night noise from the bar. We couldn't sleep a wink and at 12.30 am phoned the reception. No answer and we phone three times. We went down to reception and mentioned the noise. The reception staff immediately changed our room to the 27th floor. Once again, the noise was just as loud. By this time it's 1 am. We got out of bed and discovered that the bed sheets had lipstick stains on them!! Finally, the reception desk staff moved us to level 17 and away from the noisy rooftop bar. We were so tired that we just crashed asleep. In the morning we discovered what we presumed were pooh skid marks from shoes, next to the bed and quite a visual mark of mold, right next to the air con vent. That teally is a health hazard. The hotel has nice facilities like an amazing pool and a lovely-looking gym. We went to go to the gym by trying to swipe our cards in the door. It wouldnt open. A hotel staff member was sitting at a desk outside of the gym. She said to use the gym, we had to go from the 15th floor down to the reception to get a code. We wondered what her purpose was if she couldnt give guests a code to use the gym. Now, it's a reasonably new (opened about a year now ) hotel. The cleanliness really isn't up to scratch. I think this hotel needs to get the cleaning level perfected. As for the noisy bar, warn guests about the noise and that it bounces off the angular style design of the building, reaching several floors below. Overall, not a nice experience.

When i made my booking, the reservation team namely Jessica had made my reservation without any hiccups that i can say the team has good professional hospitality (this is the only time i feel like a valued guest) but the moment I came it's already a let down from the moment i step into the hotel. First, the hotel is huge with a big lobby but i don't see anyone care to help me with my luggage when i arrived and i can see 4,5 people at the front desk counter, can the management tell me what kind of hotel hospitality is this? So when this happens, my expectation is already disappointing, when my request at the front desk was just turned down without any other options or alternatives provided ..come on... is this what you guys make your guest feel? GET YOUR BASIC HOSPITALITY RIGHT IF NOT YOU GUYS WILL NOT HAVE GUESTS COMING BACK!!!!!!

Basic overnight stay at this hotel. Not sure if this is an isolated incident, toilet plumbing stinks at floor 21. The toilet plumbing smell will reek and stink up the whole room. Can’t ventilate as windows are locked. Bedsheet is stained. Otherwise, hotel is clean and basic amenities provided (but no cups/coffee/tea). Free parking. I do not recall seeing a kettle - but I could be wrong.

It was a pleasant stay at Avante hotel. The hotel location is great as it has walkway connecting it to the MRT and the One Utama shopping centre. The room we stayed despite a standard one is spacious and clean. Breakfast is great with good selection. The hotel obviously had a bit of staffing issue. We didn't get daily housekeeping and the breakfast room ran out of clean tables in the morning but as it was a short stay we didn't mind.
