It’s the second time I’m staying at the Eastin, and if I have the choice this will be my default base for business stay. The customer service from front of house to room service is impeccable. I love how ergonomic the room is: there is plenty of storage for me to unpack into, so that I can keep the room tidy and restful for myself. Both times i stayed here I was under an extremely tight schedule, but in-room dining sorted me out: the portion sizes are large. importantly, for business stay, the WIFI is excellent and most reliable. I could do Zoom calls with no lag at all. The only mild challenge is the traffic right outside the hotel: at peak times standstill traffic runs right in front of the hotel that makes it slightly challenging to get a car, but i factored that in and just left sooner. …

Hotel is old and room is non functional despite paying a premium for better room. The hotel is also unsafe as there’s no lock from inside. The ironing board fell off the wall. The TV are not working but more importantly is the security of the room as it is near the stairs but one can’t lock the room. The front deck is inexperienced and can’t handle request effectively when it comes to early check in. But as long as you mentioned you are willing to pay a bit more the room became available. The service standard is also bad as I was given 3 different replies when it comes to make up room timing from 930am to 10am to 1030am. The toaster at the cafe is also not working for the 2 days I was staying. Overall, avoid paying premium price 4.5 stars for a 2 stars hotel like this.

28 oct 23: Stayed here for 1 night. Check in process very slow since i have to wait around 30 minutes for the room to be ready. I can finally go to my room at 345pm. The female indian staff at the checkin desk did not even say sorry for the lateness. That is the only frustrating thing have to face. Will definitely come here again.

Was with group. Group handle check in very smoothly by front office, Mr Seelan. The gala dinner was good. The staff at banquet service good. The hotel atmosphere excellent. Service rendered 5 star and all the group participant enjoyed the 4days 3 nights

I went on a group trip 7 people over 5 rooms and Harry was really amazing how he organised massages, food drinks and even transfers to airport with his friendly smiling nature. If you want to be treated well stay here. Well done Harry and thankyou for your service.

I have escalated the matter to the morning manager and told her to revert to me since she promised she will but nothing until now. I was in room 1424 and aircorn was horribly hot. I complaint at 6pm before I left at the lobby and after 6 hours returning back nothing was repaired. At 12am I asked the front desk to send their technician and I asked the abang why didn't you come earlier and he said I only came in at 11pm. Even so nothing done. I requested to change my room even after the repair because the aircorn had no change. I was shifted to the following floor. The room was so stuffy,carpets were super smelly that I had to spray my own perfume. And the most awful thing was opening the bathroom toilet bowl and discovering tissue and urine in it. I wish I took a picture but I needed to urine badly so I flushed it without taking a picture. And it was 2am by that time so my husband and I slept. Next day by 10am I had to check out as the room was so dirty and smelly. I need my compensation ASAP. I am still waiting for a call from the manager. …

The staffs were helpful. Check-in and out were smooth and hassle-free. Some parts of the hotel bare some signs of aging, but overall they are well-maintained, and clean. The room was comfortably organised. Pillows were soft (I prefer firmer ones), but that is ok. Overall I had good rest before my hectic next day. Breakfast was adequate, though not exceptional. I may choose to stay here again if coming to this area.

In order to evaluate the standards of Eastin, I have decided to stay in Eastin Kuala Lumpur to assess and see whether the services are in accordance with customer-centric and booked for two nights and paid in full online. I arrived at the Eastin Kuala Lumpur, the front office did not smile, just asked for the information, and informed me that I should pay an additional MYR 150 of which MYR 130 is refundable on the day of check-out. Here too no one bothered to help me with the luggage. The next day morning at 8:15 AM, I have hanged the “makeup” room placard and went out. When I returned to the room in the evening the placard was still on the handle of the door and when I open the door, the room is still untidy. I called reception and questioned; she told me we have a higher number of check-ins; hence we couldn't make up the room. It was clear that I am not one of those Customers. However, in the next 15 minutes there was a knock on the door from housekeeping, he told me his report stated room no. 617 check-out is on Saturday, BUT my actual check-out was on Sunday. Wow, what a mess of communication and negligence. Furthermore, FO informed me there is no late check-out policy and for every hour beyond 12:00 noon, there is an additional pay of MYR 30. No empathy, and only money matters. If the customer has to pay for a late check-out, why can't the hotel pay for an early check-out which I did at Eastin Penang? 4 hours and 20 minutes earlier than the standard check-out of 12:00 noon? I cannot fathom, how the management is driving money-oriented cultures in Easting Penang and Kuala Lumpur. For sure, I am not going to revisit this hotel again or even recommend it to someone.…

Absolutely awful. Both telephones and safe didn’t work. Booked an extra bed in advance as arriving quite late, it wasn’t in the room. Requested it be brought up quickly as kids were exhausted. After multiple requests gave up and slept on the floor. Never again.
