Detailed Reviews
This beautiful bed and breakfast is an excellent accommodation option, even after more than a decade after I first started staying here in 2011.
I stayed here for two nights in July 2023 on my way back to New Zealand, after a month in Indonesia. I was in Malaysia for too brief a time to go somewhere like Penang, but it was too long a time to spend it all at an airport hotel. Rumah Putih was the perfect place to stay in between these two options.
A short 15 minute drive from the airport, Rumah Putih has spacious clean rooms, a small but refreshing pool, comfortable shared living and dining room areas, and a tasty breakfast each morning. Get a Grab, Air Asia ride share or official taxi from the airport. Don't jump in a metered taxi, as there is a high chance you'll be overcharged. Get a vochure from the taxi ticketing area for a set price, or use one of the ride sharing apps. The latter are a bit difficult to download and register for before arrival in Malaysia, so a taxi might be the best option on arrival.
The local area near Rumah Putih has become very busy with cars, often driving at speed and traffic since I first started staying here in 2011. Whereas it was then just an easy stroll to the local shops, where there are a number of excellent eating options, it has now become extremely congested. There is no direct or easy pedestrian access and you have to cross busy roads to get to the local shops. But once you do, you're rewarded with amazing dining options, and the food is incredible.
Rumah Putih is well recommended for a few days in KL.

We stayed at this bed and breakfast to break the journey from London Heathrow, via Dubai,Kuala Lumpur to Ko Samui. The owners were amazing making us feel very welcome. We felt they treated us like a couple rather than just a number. James even cheuffered us to the local shopping mall to show where we could get an evening meal. The property is a private house and is well maintained in a residential area. So it is very quiet and off the beaton track. Jo left out an early breakfast for us as we had an early morning connection flght to Ko Samui. Which was much appreciated.
We would definitely go back and also recommend to friends and family.

After a big day travelling we arrived via taxi from the airport and were warmly welcomed at the door. The room was spacious, and comfortable. After a full breakfast we were provided with some ideas as to how we could spend our time before our flight. Our stay was not long but would definitely return for future stop overs.

We slept in the hotel one night, between two flights. The owners are very friendly, polite, helpfull: they offer free transportation from/to the train station, which is one stop from the airport. Pool is great and open whenever you want, which was extremely important as we arrived late. ...we forgott to order breakfast the night before, so we got muffins and they were delicius.
Overall nice stay.

Simply loved this property. Perfect hosts, beautiful accommodation and excellent facilities. Loved the calm location near KLIA and would recommend the property for short transits or longer stays. We would definitely stay again if visiting KL, but would make it a longer visit to experience more of the peace and tranquility.

We had 7 hours during the day to kill in KL which wasn't enough to go into the city but too much to spend at the airport, so we used this B&B for a short rest respite. It's hard to comment given I was asleep most of the time, but the owner (english) was friendly and the rooms were fine, the pool was lovely and there is a local shopping village within 5 minutes walk. Free coffee is available and the wifi works. Our family room had 2 double beds and served its purpose. Public transport from the airport was a bit daunting but turned out to be quite cheap and easy - you can catch a train from KLIA (1st stop, maybe 10 mins trip) or a bus from LCCT (20 mins) and the owner will collect you for no charge from the train or bus station if you ring him. It represented great value and my family will definitely use this hotel again for similar airport transit purposes in the future and will recommend it to others.

My friend & I stayed a night in a Superior Room...
Price of the room consider reasonable...
Everything looks new with simple English Deco...
Such a quiet & lovely place to stay...
Friendly & helpful owner James, his wife & their very cute lil girl (miss this girl so much!)
Definitely will recommend friends & family to stay here...
If you transit in KL, this place will be the best place for you, friends or family...

After our Philippines trip we had to return to KL since our return flight back to Europe was from here.
We stayed at RP three years ago so decision to come back was easy. James picked us up at Selak Tinggi train station at 10pm (3,20 RM for train ticket from KLIA 2). It was more like seeing an old friend at his home then checking into B&B. We had two kids (2+6 yo) with us that had so much fun in the pool and playing with James's daughter that we had hard time getting them on any trips. After James gave us the contact from the local rental guy we rented a car (we got really good price) and went to Batu Caves (45 min) and visited some shopping malls that we were suggested.
Overall another great stay and we are coming back again for sure. This is a highly recomended place for either solo travelers, couples or families.

What a hidden gem!
We stayed in Rumahputih for one night on our way out and for 3 nights on our return from touring Malaysia. Ideally located near KLIA, it provided a great rest bite after a long international flight and enabled us to recover before our travels. We stayed in a fantastic family room with three children and it was more than we had expected. A previous comment about the child bed is unfounded and our 4 year old had a great sleep. Rumahputih is ideally located near some great restaurants, a 7/11 and a much needed cash point machine.
During our return stay we made two day trips into KL and it was very easy, especially as Rumahputih is located so close to the train station and the owners provide very convenient shuttle runs. The owners were also a fount of knowledge and offered some great advice on where to go and what to see. Again, as it was ideally located near to KLIA we were able to rest before our flight home in the very early hours.
In summary, two fantastic stays, ideally located and of great value. The rooms, amenities and breakfast were excellent. More importantly, James and his family & staff could not have been more helpful and hospitable. We will definitely return. Tx

+1
This was our 2nd time staying at Rumah Putiah and once again it was brilliant. Arrived in the afternoon and were able to completely relax and enjoy a swim in the lovely pool. We had booked the family room which is a great size and very comfortable. Wifi is available and the tv comes with a great selection of movies.
After a nice breakfast (continental + scrambled eggs) Jo took us to the local station where we caught the bus to LCCT.
Highly Recommend to all travellers seeking comfortable and quiet accommodation close to the airport.

We used Grab, but it sure wasn't RM65. Grab hasn't informed us of any minimum, & I think the most we've ever paid them is RM40.
a set breakfast is included. There is no buffet.

Hi Anna, Thanks for your enquiry. The train station at Salak Tinggi is about 5 minutes from our place and the trains run to the city and the airport terminals every 20-30 minutes, from 5am until midnight. Normally during the race weekends there is a shuttle bus from the airport terminal to the track which is a very cost effective way to reach the track. Alternatively taxis are easy to arrange and cost approx 50MYR each way or car rental is also an alternative as car parking at the racetrack is no so expensive.
All the best
James
