Detailed Reviews
Amazing setting, recommend club rooms overlooking the lake and golf course to spot friendly Monkeys and squirrels. The staff were fabulous, couldn't fault them. Wish the breakfast selection was a bit better but the Chinese restaurant was sooooooo good! My wife used the Spa and said it was the best massage she ever had - This is a fab place to stay about 30-45 minutes ride into KLCC so if you want some peace, wildlife and luxury instead of being right in the city then this place is highly recommended.

We had such a great time celebrating our daughter’s 12yr old birthday at Senja Restaurant. Very careful and helpful team who ensured we had an eventful and memorable celebration. Special mention to Mr Roslee, Mr Theva and Ms Hema. They worked hand in hand though on different shifts and did a splendid job. Great team work and excellent service! Environment was cosy. Food was delicious too.

ARRIVED direct from Shanghai and was picked up by hotel taxi. Smooth ride from KLIA and took about 50 mins.
Got to check in desk and was invited to take a seat in reception whilst having a refreshing juice drink
Shown to my room. Well I say room, it was more like a suite. Had a reception area with TV and sofa. And bathroom with shower, separate sunken bath and separate toilet. Final room was the bedroom with massive bed and huge wardrobe that was bigger than some hotel rooms I ha e stayed in
View was over the lake which was nice.
TV channels a little limited but ok. Old films rather than newer movies. Wifi was fast enough to FaceTime : Skype family.
I was traveling alone so I felt somewhat alone on this massive apartment. But this is a review site not a therapy site so I'll leave my feelings behind
Entrance to the rooms are all outside so to get from and to room from reception you can get a bit warm. Fortunately the aircon was good enough to reverse global warming. It helped keep me cool
The hotel bar was quiet and calm and the restaurant in the club section was nice and peaceful. Great service from ALL the staff.
Rooms had iron and board for those that like to look smart In their clothes In the heat. I was there on business so this is essential for me.
The walk to the main hotel is via the pool and lake. Took me 7 mins from my room to the main hotel where I was training. But I walk like a man being chased by a pack of hyenas in the wild. It could be warm so worth noting.
I left this hotel and traveled to Mumbai to stay in the orchid hotel (see earlier review). I guess this hotel spoiled me a bit as it was so good.
Would I come back again. Yes. Absolutely.
Incidentally I came to this hotel a few years ago for a meal and they had a sign welcoming Chelsea football club to stay for preseason tour. If it's good enough for premiership footballers it's likely to be a great standard.

I booked the room in your website and giving all the details. Upon arrival my booking was cancelled before my check in. The receptionist told me the book was cancelled and there was no room available on my booked room however after standing there for good 20 minutes they upgraded my room.
I got to know that the hotel cancelled my room as my debit card was declined hence they cancelled it. While it is common for hotel to charge guest card before arrival, the hotel should call me first before making the cancellation as i was driving up to KL from JB and i made the booking while i made my stop at R&R.
I booked using my debit card and i need to activate online purchase authorisation for the debit card to work. Frankly i was disappointed with how the hotel handle the booking.
Very disappointing

I did not stay at this resort but went to enjoy a day at the Spa on Valentine's Day, which is today incidentally, 14 Feb 2013. The overall ambiance of the place was good and the reception staff was courteous. We booked 2 sessions of 90mins Balinese massage at 3pm and was told to come early at 2.30pm as there were having a promotion whereby we were given a 20% discount off the therapy price, a complimentary 15mins steam bath before the massage.
We got there around 2.20pm, asked to wait at the reception, filled up our respective registration forms and were served a welcome drink. After 10-15 mins we were escorted to Villa 1 for our massage. We had our 15mins steam bath and showered after. We then started our massage session. To be fair, the masseuse's technique was not too bad. However, we were told our massage has ended at approximately 3.40pm. I then questioned the staff as to why the massage time was shortened as it was suppose to be 90mins and it ended after only 40mins, reply was that the time for the steam bath and our shower after was included in the session time. I decided to take this up with the management after the both of us had changed. Upon our arrival at the reception, the staff was already aware of the situation and I told her that of all the Spas that I have been all over the world, nobody includes the complimentary 15 steam bath as part of the massage session, and if Saujana practices this, it should have been told to us upon booking. What's the point of asking us to come early to enjoy COMPLIMENTARY steam bath when in actual fact it isn't?? When it is part of the massage session time? This is definitely shortchanging the customers! Again, to be fair, the receptionist was courteous and agreed with me and apologised for the so called "miscommunication". She offered to compensate us by giving us a 45min massage session voucher for our next visit but she still has to charge us for the 90mins session. If you do the math, this is no compensation, I'm still paying for the so called "compensation" 45mins session as I'm charged 90mins for a massage that only lasted 40-45mins!! I voiced out my discontent but the staff was reluctant to budge. Then the manageress, Sophia, came out and apologised. But verbal apology is not enough, they shiuld put meaningful compensation into action!! All she said was she will take note of our names and if we return, they promise to give us longer massages. Point is, would you return to a Spa that has shortchanged you the very first time??!!
And not to mention it was a special Valentine's occasion, with our moods ruined, I'm sure there was more they could've done to make it up to us.
And to top it all, we discovered on the promotion pamphlet on the reception desk that we were also entitled to a COMPLIMENTARY 20min foot reflexology in addition to the steam bath. We were not even aware of this and neddless to say, we were not given any foot massages.
Finally, I said that I will only pay for a 60min massage and not 90mins which they agreed. To our further dismay, the 20% discount does not apply for 60mins session as the value has to be above a certain amount. We have heard good things about this spa but unfortunately this experience was totally disappointing. We expected so much more from a reputable resort. Maybe it's overbooking or human error but I'm sure there's more the management could have done to appease its customers. I hope others will take note of our experience and make sure of the time and not be shortchanged or disappointed.

I stayed at the Club Saujana for business in June. When I checked out, they insisted on charging me an extra night's stay as they claimed they had to reserve a room for me due to my early flight that required an early check-in. That is the first time I have ever heard of a hotel charging their guest for reserving a room for them in advance. When I demanded to have the extra night charge removed (as I had checked-in after 4 pm on my day of arrival, why did I need a room reserved the night before?), the sales manager offered me 2 nights' free accommodation as compensation. So I thought, well, why not? The facilities at the hotel were great. When I arranged for the free accommodation, the sales manager took a very long time to respond and asked me to send him an email requesting a site visit. I found that dodgy but did it anyway. When I arrived with my partner, we were subject to endless humiliating shifts in our schedule (golf and spa pre-arrangements were messed up) and we felt as though we were being pushed around and treated like beggars. When I complained to the new Asst GM, the sales manager actually called me after that and demanded to know why I complained and said he was going to get fired because of me. I was mortified at how unprofessional and ridiculous these accusations were. The straw that finally broke the camel's back was when I received an email from the sales manager 3 weeks later, saying that I had to pay for the resort's special laundry charges for the room, and that amounted to almost RM400+. How crazy is that? I was livid and still am. I feel there is something very dishonest and dodgy about this resort despite its beautiful exterior. I would never go back and would not recommend this place. Something is not right with its management and I suggest the owner of the resort needs to properly investigate the conduct of the sales manager.

Responded 13 Aug 2013
Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on your recent stay with us. On the first claim, the hotel did not wrongfully charge you an extra night. The local office booked you in an extra night due to your early flight arrival which was scheduled at 0805hrs. This is not what you claimed as “dodgy” as this procedure is followed consistently in all hotels when there is an early arrival. This is to ensure that there is a room guaranteed for you to check in when you arrive. However, your plan to arrive after 4pm was not clearly communicated to the local office nor the hotel prior to your actual day of arrival, hence, the sales manager did offer to make it right with complimentary two nights on your subsequent visit. I am sorry to learn that your spa and golf arrangements were not up to your expectations; nevertheless, I am made to understand that there were adjustments duly made. It appears that there was clearly a gap in the communications flow and this was being followed up by respective sales person. On the claim of the special laundry charges, any irremovable stains from soiled or damaged bed linens, be it mattress or sheets will be incurred/charged to guest as it is considered items damaged. These items cannot be reused for sanitation and hygiene reasons; therefore they have been disposed of. This in our view is not unreasonable due to the condition the items were left in. Your further claim on “there’s something very dishonest and dodgy about this resort”, is defamatory and untrue. On behalf of the entire team I regret that your stay was less than satisfactory but evidently, your insinuation on the resort’s image as “dishonest and dodgy” is clearly inappropriate as all points raised by you have been answered in detail with facts and explanation. We thank you very much for highlighting the issues to our attention.

In all our years of travel, we have never stayed at a hotel run more poorly than this one. In less than 48 hours, we had to deal with the aircon breaking down at 3 a.m. and a night manager who was rude and condenscending about our predicament with no sense of urgency to rectify the situation. With very little sleep, we returned to our room later in the afternoon to discover our room filled with maintenence people and no way to access our room. Turned out the entire wing of the hotel was now without aircon. The day manager was helpful and upgraded us to another room but it meant we had to pack up everything and move. When we went downstairs for the complimentary happy hour that the upgraded room was entitled to, the front desk manager loudly proclaimed in front of other guests that we were not entitled to this event because we had not paid the upgraded price. Then housekeeping lost our laundry and we were up well after midnight trying to track it down since we needed to check out the next day.

Responded 26 Jan 2015
Dear Lynn T, Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay. We had noted your stay was booked through a third party using our hotel loyalty program, and it is a misfortune to learn that you had experienced a poor encounter at our hotel after all your years of travel. The first room air condition malfunction was an isolated case and we regret the staff who handled your predicament was below expectation. The manager on duty the next day immediately made a service recovery with a room upgrade to The Club Saujana Resort. The Club Saujana Resort is usually full in occupancy with The Club rate paying guests, hence our upgrade policy is limited to room benefits, without Club inclusions, which our Front Desk Manager had attempted to explain of which you alleged that this information was proclaimed loudly in the presence of other guests. However, the team immediately made every effort to remedy the situation and provided access to the Club Lounge happy hour with complimentary canapes and beverages offered to you without delay. In addition the Front Office Manager personally met with you to apologize on the situation. The laundry which you sent was safely delivered and placed in your room closet before 9pm on the same day. The Club Saujana Resort is ranked #1 at Shah Alam and we are committed to the highest levels of service and hospitality. We encourage readers of this forum to read our 100+ reviews on this site to form a balanced opinion of the hotel, service and facilities. It is very unfortunate that we were unable to meet your expectations on this visit. We remain available at any time as direct contact is always the best way for us to provide assistance. Wishing you safe and pleasant onward travels. Belinda Leong Executive Assistant Manager

we stayed there on the 18thoct and my hubby got th club room as a complimentary from shell. The hotel was out of what I was expecting for, clean, luxurious and very private..love the surrounding and this hotel is not for couple with small children at all.it is cater for adults as the swimming pool for children available next to the club in saujana hotel.we had to walk like 3 minutes to reach there.the only swimming pool available in the club is totally for adults.the only downside for this hotel is the front office staff..Now I know we received the room as a complimentary from Shell but we are still guests who stayed in your hotel..The receptionist by the name of kiki was very rude upon check in..the customer service skill was on a scale 1 being the best and 10 being the worst i would grade as 9..that bad!we had few hiccups during check in tht took us 40mins to check in.when we were there we told her wht happen all she said was oh!wait i call my manager????at least smile and said oh im sorry for the confusion, pls just gimme 2 mins and lemme call my manager to sort out your issue.and we waited for another 15mins,suddenly there's another staff'receptionist' came over and sent us the room key?and where the hell is tht bloody manager?i couldnt care less anymore and just took the key.i kept on reminding myself its free im not paying for this room.and seriously i am so thankful that im not paying the room at all..i could have wasted my money so much with such unethical behaviour of front office staff.my suggestion to the club is no point for u to maintain such lovely hotel if the attitude of the staff is rude and not friendly at all..pls do refresher training to ur staff at least once a month since none of them is polite(front office)..but your restaurant and housekeeping staff is so polite and friendly..i think the attitude came frm the leader who lead the team in your front office. :(

i stayed club saujana for a night to celebrate my husband birthday.
when i made a booking,i wrote the request telling i appreciate that if they give us some complementary birthday service for my husband birthday.
i expected them to do something because it is not my first time to stay in 5star hotel to celebrate someones birthday and all hotels did something so far (ex. cake, flower)
instead of special service, they made us to wait when we checked in. we arrived after 2pm and they said we have to wait about 45min because the room is not ready.
while we were waiting, they didnt serve welcome drink till i asked for that.
even when i asked for the drink the lady asked me "did you make check in?"
i told her "they said i have to wait for 45min" she even didnt apologize for that.
and they forgot to set two toothbrush.
we wend to the Japanese restaurant for dinner.
when i made a booking for restaurant, i asked them to prepare a small dish of desert which wrote down "happy birthday".
they prepared one slice of cake as i said however when i checked the bill, i was surprised.
They charged 20RM for that slice of cake!
yes.... i am the one who requested for that... but i thought they will do this as complementary service because i am the hotel guest and they said themselves "CLUB"
i think even budget restaurants dont charge for this things. at least in japan no.
if they had to charge for that, at least they should had informed me about that as a manner.
i didnt read review here before i stayed there.
after i came back, i read reviews and i found that another guest also wrote about "afternoon tea, cocktails"
hotel said we have free flow cocktails and "canape buffet" but it is wrong.
as another guest said, there was no canape buffet.
it was small cups of soup and fried foods.
when the waiter came to serve the food, i asked him "is this canape??" few times and he only kept saying "yes". they even didnt know how to apologize and excuse for that.
or they dont know what is canape? ??
some people might not care about that, but some people do.
i think if it is not canape, they should not say "canape".
it is better to say "snacks".
so overall, i was so disappointed with this hotel because they said they are 5 star and CLUB hotel but the service which they gave us is not CLUB service.
i think it was lower than average. i didnt see the receptionist smile and i didnt feel their hospitality spirits at all.
for good points, room and swimming pool was good. thats it.
