In all my years of travelling, The Alami garden crowns it all as the worst hotel I had ever stayed.
Hotel staff is pleasant and courtesies. However the room fittings and facilities is more of dormitory than a hotel.
The following basic facilities are not available.
1. There is no wardrobe or any form of furniture to keep our clothing—only a tripod track to place our luggage.
2. In the bath room, tooth brush and soap is not available. Washing hands and face means, having to step into the shower cubicle and squeeze liquid soap onto our hand and bring it to the wash basin.
3. Air condition—even at the lowest setting it is not cold.
4. Electrical outlet- only 1 outlet—charging of handphone and note book cannot be done at the same time.
5. Electric pot to boil water is not available, if hot water is needed- only available in the lobby.
6. There no sight of any coffee or tea bags. Only 2 small bottles of bottled water.
Breakfast – Although it is included in the room rate. However taking the buffet breakfast is a test my patience. Buffet spread: consists of 5 items-fried rice, friend noodle, bread, coffee and local sweet meat. On 2 mornings one of the 3 food trays was empty. When I complained, I had to wait for more than 15min for the kitchen to prepare new replenishment.
The following is missing from a normal breakfast buffet spread: fruits and juice is not available.
Hotel is isolated, eatery and shopping is not available. Room is small, 2 persons in the room will find difficulty moving around.
.
Just a small issue that the housekeeping missed out our bath towels, request at reception and got them easily.
Restaurant next door was closed for private function hence not much food choices available nearby so with the walking distance to the Tesco Supermarket nearby (around 8-10mins) is a plus point.
We have chosen this hotel because of its walking distance to the Shah Alam Stadium (30mins walk) but do walk in group as it is quite dark to walk along the roads.
Will definitely stay at this hotel again should we visit Shah Alam again.

There are no buses/ taxis that ply regularly, however, the hotel does have a provision to call taxis. On the other hand, there are 2 Tesco extra malls on both the sides of the hotel (a slight walk) where you can hit the main roads and get access to transports.
Bathrooms do not have a lock, so if you have kids, you must take precautions. They are also semi transparent, so a little caution. There are no amenities/ activities for kids.
The staff at the reception are very friendly although we had some problem in understanding what they were saying. There are a few restaurants nearby like the Jim's burger etc. Priced reasonably. Complimentary breakfast provided by the hotel is nothing to boast about since they serve mostly Malay cuisine and the only other thing is bread, butter and jam. Sometimes there are fruits and sweet meats. The egg you order will have to be paid for and salt/ pepper have to be ordered separately.
Overall, I would rate the room good and value for money.
What I Love:
1) Clean - The toilet and room is CLEAN and i LOVE it... 'nuff said. I hope they maintain the cleanliness. Kudos to whoever is "quality-checking" and maintaining the cleanliness of the hotel and hotel rooms.
2) Modern Furnishings - The bed is comfortable, the room is modern - and the flooring is covered in laminate which is easy to clean and gives your feet that luxurious feel when you move around the room, as opposed to dirty carpets and cold ceramic tiles. For a budget hotel, this is very impressive.
3) Well-maintained - Granted; its only a year old but the rooms, furnishings, bathrooms looks spanking new, and squeaky clean and I must say that i am very impressed by this.
What I Don't Quite Fancy:
1) Location - Not very prime and far when walking out to the main road / civilisation. Its in some obscure lane that it is easily missed if you take the wrong turn. You need a car to move and flagging down a taxi is a hopeless cause. Plus point is that its a stone's throw away from the Tesco Hypermart - which has a food court and some shops.
2) Breakfast - Food is cold, lacked variety, and tasted horrible.
3) Water Pressure - In the morning, the water pressure is really "water-cooler quantity" low. And when i asked the staff for help, it was acknowledged but no action was done to increase the pressure, which was disappointing.
4) Staff lack of knowledge - I asked for directions to two different areas in the district of shah alam but none of the staff knew where the places were and how to get there, which can be frustrating if you are a first-timer in that area.
I'm probably asking for too much since its a cheap budget hotel. I am very very happy with its cleanliness and modern rooms, but feedback on water pressure and some knowledge about the area around isn't asking for too much either.
Good, comfortable stay for a couple of nights stay-over or quick business. Not sure about longer term though - might be a tad too boring for some.
need improvement on many-many thing especially space and bathroom and beds and others things...
