Detailed Reviews
We booked a basic room just for the night as we had the boat going to Redang Island from Merang Jetty the morning after. The room wasn't very nice and, for the first time in my life, there was no sink. For one night it was ok but I couldn't have stayed more.
Maybe non basic room were better.
The girl who welcomed us was very kind though.
The best part of this place were the beautiful cats hanging around :)

Stayed for 3d2n together with 40 numbers of family members . We booked all the resort rooms that available The resort really Cheap and have very basic ammenities . The resort really suitable for family gathering since the area very privacy and far from other villagers. We have great fun over there . We cooked , play some telematch , karaoke and enjoyed the beach . Positive point , it is near to Merang jetty to Redang Island , one of the most beautiful island in Terengganu ie Malaysia . Negative point , the tap water smells very bad ..........

the only thing good about this resort is the fact that it's extremely near the merang jetty and very cheap. the resort is basic. i regard the resort as dirty and extremely run down. i had a hard time sleeping. they should improve on the cleanliness of the place.

i have been here a several times and i must say that this resort is a real good choice for low budget travelers. a nice lonesome beach is right in front. you should not compair with the 5 star resort near by but considering the reasonable roomrates it is good value. just come and relax.

+1
Frequently travel to Merang and these area.
New management and they did a great job furnishing their rooms and cleanliness. I would recommend travellers for transit before getting in Redang Island. Also those who plan to spend weekend for day trip to Bidong Island, Redang Island or Lang Tengah Island.
Very comfy bed and bed sheets with Air Conditioned room. They also have Flat screen TV in rooms with own ASTRO decoders.
A nearby local food stall selling fried rice, noodles and Tom Yam for dinner.
You could also get to a Shell petrol kiosk for provisions ( they close at 10pm )
Do not expect exclusive treatment here…but the staff did their best to accommodate us! Even offering service to buy our food at nearby food stall.
They also have dormitory for budget group.

the location is direct on the beach (please take care of strong current!) and nice setting with coconut trees. rooms are really dirty and towels/linen have undefined dots - you don't want to know what happend ... You share your room with different insects - but lucky we didn't get bedbugs. There was no restaurant offering dinner, snack or breakfast.

Resort is located near their local community school. Local malay stall are also within walking distance. Petrol station is 15min walk away from resort if u required any daily necessity. Walking distance to the seaside.
5 star for the resort staff. Not only speak good english, very helpful and friendly. They offered to drive me to a nearby restaraunt for my dinner. Totally appreciate their effort.
Only feedback is their aircon, the first time i on it, there was cranking sound, and a lizard tail drop in front of me, that was settled with a tissue paper, just clean and dump it away.
Thank you to all the kembara resort staff for making my first ever solo trip so meaningful!!
