My title may have been good enough summary about this resort. Whoever owns this place might be not be too soc-med friendly or could'nt care less about reviews. My mistake was not taking heed about past reviews and maybe just to give them the benefit of doubt. For instance how much would a small packet of soap and shampoo would cost the management to provide for the guest? Just imagine after snorkeling trip and spending time on the beach, you came back to the room to refresh and take shower.... and found out there was no soap and shampoo? Sounds trivial but wait until you experience it youself. My suggestion to the management - charge a few extra RM and do provide this "insignificant" item.

If you think I am nit-picking in my review, well I am not. A few other things worth mentioning like general cleanliness and upkeep of the room bla..bla..bla.. which is rather standard item in this industry. Maybe the owner is not interested to take his hospitality business to a hihger level but even if one is not that ambitious, basic amenities and services shall be made available for the guess...... because if you asked me, I will not only come back here, I will not even recommend this place to others.

I'll see you once you improve!

If you are looking for long beach and muslim friendly affordable price at Redang, you should book this resort. Their food is complete from breakfast to dinner but the snorkelling trip for this resort quite disappointing because of marine park is closed during covid 19. So they just go to snorkel at open sea.. 3 checkpoint. If you want many checkpoints, should check on other package or u can just snorkel in front of the chalet.

Do find also this is the average type of room. If you are looking for luxury kind of thing, you can book other resorts.

Snorkelling equipment rental is cheap here if you are staying in this chalet. At night you can walk along the long beach to see night view

Me and my friends were contemplating on where to go for our holidays... decided to follow another friend who had booked at Redang lagoon last minute. Good thing we went on a weekday, they still can accomodate the 5 of us!

3 days 2 nights for triple sharing is RM 300 and double sharing is RM 320. You get a clean, air-conditioned room with attached bathroom. 3 x snorkeling, breakfast, lunch, dinner and tea is provided daily as well. You can rent the snorkeling equipments at the resort for RM 10, and another RM 10 for the life jacket. Oh, yes and the ferry from KT (shah bandar jetty) to Redang is also inclusive of the price.

The guides there are quite friendly I must say. They'd be more than happy to chat and hang out with customers, even with their limited english. They were extremely helpful during my stay with my friends, and we had tons of fun during our trips with the guides!

Food that was served was so-so, there will be no refill for the food, but for drinks its available throughout the day. Do take note that for the BBQ dinner, you'd have to grill the food yourselves. They do have fried rice, coleslaw, and fried noodle apart from the grilled fish, chicken and beef satay. Me and my friends were glad we ate elsewhere first before the bbq, coz there was quite a few customers, and there were only 2 bbq pits usable instead of 4. We had to wait til there were space for us to cook our food basically.

Apart from that, we had a truly brilliant stay :) Its basically the only place you can chill and relax. The other resorts would have karaoke, disco and so on til late at night. Redang Lagoon has no such thing, thus its the quietest place you can find along the beach at night. Also, its run by a Muslim couple, thus no alcohol is served. But you can always go to the bar next door, or buy beer at the convenience shop nearby. They don't mind the customers having alcohol, its just that they don't serve it there at the resort.

Also there are no diving trips offered, only snorkeling trips. So you'd have to either go next door to pelangi or beach resort for diving trips.

The beach is simply stunning. Compared to the beach at redang beach and laguna resort, the stretch of beach along Redang Lagoon has no dead corals along the beach and its clean. The water is still clear blue and you can see some fishes near the beach.

So, if you're on a budget, and has no qualm about food, I'd highly recommend this place. :)

they have a website as well and you can check out the rates there @ www.redanglagoon.com

I'm most definitely going back there soon!

Not experience staff … looks like a very low cost chalet for me… nothing much that we can do here …
Room so small , towels not ready in the room, toiletries like soap & shampoo not given.
Snorkeling facilities outdated. No jetty to get on the boat … pity for small children need to climb on the boat.
Food not much choice .. place here not clean
Don’t even seen any cleaner around

This place is super nice but i book 3 room for 3 days and 2 night. 2 of My room got aircond got leaking and not cool even u put the lowers temperature.

When i asked receptionist to send the maintenance guy he came and check but from what i see the way he check that air conditioner is wrong because i also have a plant maintenance background so when i see and asked simple questions he cant answer somehow he is a Bangladesh maybe he dont have maintenance knowledge just need a work.

So when i came to reception and told the girl she just believe what that guy tell him… and she told me that nothing she can do (in the arrogant way). She also asked me to drag the bed to another way to avoid leaking is good of she give me the tools and i do the aircond problem. So for me this chalet u only can stay for 1 night not more than that. Otherwise u will suffer like me for 3 day like stay in a tent and u cant stay inside u room in the afternoon.

Stayed here last week (25th to 27th May) for 3d 2n. I found it very incredible for its cleanliness of the room & the beach stretch. The crystal clear water is stunning during the day!
Food wise is very good even it served in limited serving. Fried fish was so crispy & sweet! BBQ dinner for our last night there. 3x of snorkeling trips was so wonderful. My kids really enjoyed it though my eldest was a bit scared but they can swim & snorkel safely with the guide around them. Thanks to Man & Yo :)
The room is so cosy. My hubby & kids had a good sleep. Well maintain by Uncle Haris & his wife. I am so proud of them coz this is the one & only Muslim resort there I guess. They even have "qiblat" shown on the ceiling.
I will definitely come back here soon & now busy recommending friends about this cool place :) I really missed Redang Lagoon!

Stayed at Redang Lagoon after browsed over budget chalet in Redang. We booked 3d2n package with this chalet at only RM280/ person. The chalet is located at beachfront. Great view. Most of the chalet is Malay style with bathroom attached. The foods? It was great! I love everything they served. From breakfast, lunch, hi tea till dinner, everything was superb in taste and selections. They also have BBQ buffet where they served marinated fishes, chickens, beefs and prawns. It was yummy. I think this place is cater to backpacker who are keen to experience Redang in budget.

Highly recommended!

I stayed here during my second visit to redang in 2013. I stayed here this (3rd) time again. That alone should speak for itself.

Redang lagoon is pretty much the same as it was two years ago. They still offer the cheapest package. We stayed for 4d3n and paid RM460 per adult and RM230 per child above the age of 3 years. Now bearing in mind that price is for your chalet, 4 meals a day, your ferry ride to and fro from jeti shahbandar, and 2 snorkelling boat trips a day..........it's value for money!

Sure, the chalets & bathrooms are basic. But they have airconditioning which is a necessity in hot redang. They also have hot water for the shower albeit pressure was a bit low. Ask for chalet K5 if you need a quad chalet because its balcony faces the sea.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a slight problem with the airconditioning and someone came over right away to rectify it. The elderly malay/muslim lady who owns the place is very humble and she gives the resort a personal touch; she treats you as if you are a friend visiting her house. She used to run this place with her husband, but i heard he passed away last year. So now her son (who is an engineer by qualification) runs the place.

Food is abundant! I've been to resorts which serve just enough food and not enough for seconds. Redang lagoon is not one of those places. There's enough food for seconds & thirds. Breakfast is nasi lemak, chicken rice porridge, sausages and bread & spreads. There's free flow of tea & coffee. Lunch is boiled white rice with 4-5 dishes - a beef, a chicken, a fish and 2 veg dishes. No western option though. Tea is 2 types of fritters (cucur) - onion (savoury) and sweet potato. Dinner - theres a chicken & seafood bbq on alternate days (with fried noodles, fried rice and coleslaw as side dishes). On other days dinner is like lunch - white rice and various dishes. For the local tongue, the food is good. For those who want a western diet, probably best to go nextdoor for meals but be prepared to pay!

The location is excellent, in between two stretches of beach, so you have easy access to both. Also, it's close to the pick up/ drop off point for the ferry. There are small convenience shops and cafes just next door. Also, theres a dive centre next door.

No booze is served. A surau is provided.

No nightlife, but that makes it quiet & tranquil at night.

So redang lagoon is still the best deal if you can forego frills and luxury.

Ideal for a family holiday. The rooms were simple, clean with hot water and air conditioning. 4 meals a day were provided in the package. The meals were delicious, and more importantly there was more than enough food to go around. I've been to similar places where although food is provided, they never top up the food. It is dofferent in Redang Lagoon.

The kids loved the hammocks and huts just outside our chalet. Staff were friendly and ever obliging.

There is no dive centre but there is one next door. Snorkelling trips were good.

Ofcourse the facilities are not 5 star, but who needs 5 star for a beach holiday? All in all, for the amount we paid, I'd say we paid for a 1 star hotel and got a 3 star hotel for it. A bargain!
