This place was awesome, I loved the little huts on stilts over the river/water. There was a kitchen to cook your own food and Awi was very helpful and chilled. This is one place I'd specifically come back to as it was such a cool place to relax. If you like to sleep in you'll probably not like the 20... More

Awi's yellow house is a small haven of peace, with lovely wooden chalets on stilts standing in the Terengganu river. Beautiful view, charming chalets with attached bathroom, beautifuly decorated, very clean and quiet, in the middle of a Malay kampung. We only stayed for 3 days, but I wish I could have stayed longer! This is one of the best... More

I met there people I would not even talk to in my daily life, especially Stan and Donald I was so surprised to actually like them. I even consider my stay at Awi's house as an experience you don't see that often. This place is unforgettable, you need to see it and live it by yourself, I swear you won't... More

This place is an oasis in a local village... built on steels and fully decorated with lots of wooden handicrafts and many colourful flowers. The owner is a very open-minded, honest, smart guy...who rebuilds old boats into new to use ones. There is a kitchen with all the needed equipment to prepare your own dishes.... The five small, lovely rooms...... More

It is truly amazing if you love nature without door and window lock. Park your car at the roadside nearby at your own risk. There is Nibong mosque nearby with good PA system. There are several boat making industries in the village

Chalets and dorms were built on stilts with solid wood. Stayed in a chalet. Beds are covered with hanging mosquito net. Fridge and electric kettle are provided. No TV, air-conditioner and hot shower. Expect lots of mosquitos in the evening and sound from mosque nearby. It's a great stay with local village style experience.

After reading reviews and seeing pictures of this place, I was very excited to stay here. And it was exactly how other people had described it. There wasn't anybody else while we stayed, except for a couple who moored their boat outside our hut. It was mostly very peaceful and quiet, except at night when I could hear club music... More

I am 73 yrs and have been backpacking malaysia for 4 months and Awi and his Yellow House was the most enjoable stay I had. Awi with excellent English is a treat in himself. “We stayed at the biggest and the furthest hut. It was not too big for just the two of us, perhaps just the right size. There was a bed, a day bed, a mattress up at the loft, and some spare mattresses and pillows for bigger parties. I think there were a couple of blankets, too, but we used the one we brought with us. As for electrical appliances, there are three fans and a fridge.”
