What started as just an inquiry was so impressive that I had to book. The innKeeper
Lorenz was amazing, handling inquiries and flexible in accomodating his hotel guests. Definitely a rarity with hotels nowadays.

Rooms are very clean, linens were fresh and spotless, putting some other 4-5 star hotels to shame. Shower were powerful and hot water hot enough, rooms are spartan but thoughful and had space for everything. including a small table for your lugagge!

Location was perfect, in the old part of Chinatown, nearby are local eateries, a few cafes and restsaurants, and weekend they have a local night market just a very short walk away from this hotel

Now I can see why this joint is very popular with returnee clients.

Stayed here awaiting transfer to Redang Island resort for second trip. Strategy location, not far from Terminal MBKT & Shahbandar Jetty, center of KT Chinatown, few walk to famous chinatown restaurant. Booked single room, clean & acceptable size room, big bath room.

Great value. Nothing fancy. Clean, good beds, great Chinatown, location, and quiet. Service is great. If all you require is the basics. Nothing fancy. This place is for you. Late check-in available. Good for a stop over in route to the east coast islands.

This is a pretty new establishment and they are fabulous!! Some good comments:
1) Rooms are large (the ones on 2nd floor & 3rd floor are larger) - only 15 rooms available
2) Super clean and spanking new, complete with towels and 3 in 1 shampoo
3) Airconditioner is strong but quiet
4) Comfortable beds and comforters (yes the ones with quilt covers!)
5) Location is the best - all within walking distance in KT town
6) The hotel is so attractive, quaint and new all in one
7) Wifi is free and super good speed
8) Free coffee & tea & chinese tea at the lobby (can have it there at the balcony and watch the people go by) or can bring to your room if you need the privacy, flasks are provided for you to keep the hot water from the termo water flasks at the lobby - yes, there is no kettle provided in the rooms.
9) Free 2 bottles of drinking water
10) Price is really value for money, from RM88-RM138 depending on the types and size of room
11) Service is super excellent, any requests are entertained promptly - they provide hairdryers on request

What is not great abt the place:
1) The biggest complaint of this establishment is the noise level...OMG, the swiftlet houses are everywhere in KT town and the recording of the swiftlets chirping is blaring all the time. Only reprive is at night where they stop the recording around 7.00 pm. We have complained to the proprietor and they are taking steps to insulate the rooms from the noise but it may take a while
2) There is no lift so a climb up to 3rd floor may be a problem for some
3) Would suggest having a small kettle in the room to make it perfect and complete
4) TV channels could be improved - more Astro channels please?

All in all, this is a really good stay (but swiftlet noise must be tackled). Highly recommended!!

We had a room facing I city KT and it was so noisy for the whole night. We heard motorists racing and vrooming all night and somebody was banging with hard tools all night long. We could hardly sleep and just stayed awake until almost 6am when the noise subsided and we could slept for an hour before getting ready to catch the ferry to Redang Island. Nightmare for us and definitely not returning to this lousy place!

The room was clean and there were thermos flasks and free Nescafé 3 in 1 coffee sachets provided in every floor for the convenience of guests. That's all!

Hi there, we are really sorry about the noise, it was long weekend, some night kids were riding at the Island behind and there was a car accident at 2.15 am behind our hotel, maybe all the banging sound were from the handling and towing away, once again we apologize for the inconvenience, thank you for staying at our Lodge and hope you will reconsider to visit again, Best Rgds.

Has clean rooms and basic necessities and location is very good. Good free WiFi service. Booking via WhatsApp and I deposit required. No complaints. Parking is the only downside. Need to park on the street.

the room was very clean and the hotel is located in convenient area in Chinatown and also near to the Jetty for public ferry.
The owner is very kind enough to advise how to return from Redang to catch our flight at 3pm. we left kampong jetty at 1000 ahead to laguna beach by private boat and took Laguna ferry at 1130 to sharbandar jetty and we reached jetty at 1315. then airport at 1400 by Grab.
Although it took long time to reach the island and come back, it was worth for staying there.

Stayed here for two nights. Room was clean and the shower was just perfect. Only grouse I have was that the rooms are not sound proof and if you're a light sleeper like me, be prepare to wake up at the slightest noise.

The lodge is located at a strategic location. Only 5 mins walking distant to Pasar Payang, and 10 mins walking distant to both Shahbandar Jetty pr KT Bus Terminal. Finding the lodge is a challange as there was no signboard. You need to look for "Riverview Cafe" signboard and the lodge's entrance is located next to it. As it is located on the 1st floor, walking up the stairs with heavy luggages is challanging. The lady who greeted us were friendly (maybe she is the owner). The room has no window but it is very clean, neat, and I find the room was very comforting although I am claustorphobic. The only downside of staying here is that there were no hot water for shower. Also, it would be better if the door has a peephole. If you plan to check out earlier than 7am, do inform them the day before for they are no one at the reception before 7am.

Pros:-
1. When it comes to cleanliness, this budget hotel makes some 5 star hotels cry. It is very very very clean.
2. It is located in Chinatown and 5 minutes walk to Pasar Payang. Very strategic.
3. The beds are comfortable.

Cons:
1. Signboard is hidden. To find this hotel you need to look for Riverview Restaurant, the entrance to the hotel is next to it. The signboard is not visible from the roadside.
2. Rooms have no windows. Not appealing to clusterphobic.

Please take note as this is a budget hotel, it is located on the 1st floor. No elecators available. If you have back problems you are adviced to get help to carry your heavy bags or just travel light.
