Stayed at this backpackers hostel for 2 nights in a private room. The room was very clean with fridge and our own bathroom. The owner is a very nice and kind lady. We really felt at home. There is a shared kitchen, with all the cooking facilities and out side barbecue. Lovely garden to sit and relax. Few minutes walk... More

The dorm rooms are very clean and cosy and very reasonably priced. Also stayed in a single room which was large and very comfortable. Lovely outside garden area and large kitchen you can use (with free tea and coffee). Short walk from the centre of the city. Staff helped me to book day trips and were very friendly.

I stayed in a 3 bed dorm for my entire duration. The place was clean and the service was decent. There was an older white lady, who was around during the day and a local Namibian that helped out. They were always ready to help out with booking tours - skydiving, sandboarding, rental cars. It has a decent sized kitchen... More

The place seems extremely new, facilities are in great shape. The dorm room that I stayed in was extremely spacious and well maintained. The kitchen was the cleanest that I’ve seen, with sparkling refrigerators. A huge pitfall is no free wifi. One has to pay another N30 for wifi access.

We spend one night there with our group after a 2 week wildlife session. Was great to have a warm and proper shower after this time and also that we could stay in a room with the group. A really nice place especially for backpackers which is definitely to recommended :)

my friends and I spent a few nights at this lovely backpackers hostel. I stayed in an ensuite room which was decorated to a high standard, clean and extremely comfortable. It was nice to have such a lovely hot shower after camping in the desert! The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Visited this backpackers at the end of Dec 15. Had a pleasant stay and met interesting people during my stay. Even met a local South African celeb at Dessert sky on our 1st day there. I recommend dessert sky to any one.

Spent 3 nights at Desert Sky Backpackers in Swakopmund. The place is clean, organized and nicely designed. The hostel does extremely well on things I usually look for: the wifi is relatively good (one of the better wifi connections I've had in Southern Africa); the kitchen is very well stocked so self-catering is easy; beds are comfy; showers have decent... I stayed in the big dorm - it was clean and comfortable with enough space for about 8 people. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, answering all questions and assisting in any way they could. The location of the hostel was perfect as it was in the center of town - completely within walking distance of the beach and... More

The place is easy to find, and the location near attractions and town center is superb. Staff are really friendly and helpful, they want you to have a good time. We stayed in the family room which had two bedrooms with a door that closed off the rooms and it's own bathroom with a nice shower. What little time we... More
