You drive and drive on a gravel road then hit the sand. Have to deflate tires and then keep going. At the very tip a lighthouse and the hotel. Nice rooms but the toilet area is weird - no privacy. Comfy beds. Good views. Food good but ran out of staples like butter. Kayaking great fun and seals are everywhere...

A challenging drive in; a real 4x4 adventure, An awe inspiring location; truly beautiful. A comfortable, relaxing stay. A surprise room upgrade. A unique, memorable experience. Highly recommended. Disappointing that only the most expensive red on the wine list was available, perhaps being made aware of this when handing over the wine list would remove the awkward situation thereafter,

From the moment we were picked up it felt unique.... The journey to the lodge was quite something with a great welcome on arrival... The environment was cosy and the food just perfect.. The surrounding area is also worth exploring so glad we stayed here would love to revisit one day.

My very comprehensive review was submitted to you at Trip Advisor back in September. I had promised the hotel (Pelican Point) that I would be sending them a very good review because my wife and I had enjoyed a wonderful two nights at the hotel back in August this year. Unfortunately you do not seem to have shown this review...

Yes, one cannot deny that the location is remote and ethereal, but you are stuck on the spit, as Walvis Bay is a 45 minute drive away. Apart from going for a walk on the beach to look at a shipwreck, as well as look at the noisy (and extremely smelly!) seals, there is not much else to do. The...

Dear Mrs. BTow, Thank you very much for your review, we are sorry to ready that you did not fully enjoy your stay with us. The remoteness of our location is for many of our guests (as you will read in other reviews) a plus-point, especially if you want to get away from the busy cities like Swakopmund or Walvisbay....

The hotel in located in a beautiful spot in a peninsula in front of Walvis Bay. The place has some kind of uniqueness, as you face the ocean and seals colonies but: - on one side there the seals, but turn your head and you will see oil platforms and many cargos which is a lot less poetic and romantic...

Dear Cliistro, Thank you very much for your review and for staying at Pelican Point Lodge. Please allow me to revert to some of your remarks. The location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on the one side and the Walvis Bay with its harbor on the other side are still better than any other view you will get along the Skeleton...

The lodge is so unique, which made it such an attraction for us. Situated on a spit of desert sand blown land, in a protected national park, surrounded by thousands of seals, jackals, gulls, cormorants etc. However, the lodge website is a faint reality of the experience we had. The food on the website was nothing like we ate. A...

Dear Travelnut, Thank you very much for your review! As you wrote in your review, I've been at the lodge myself as the owner, working with my team and manager for the past two months. We thankfully were collected from town and driven out to the lodge, which is out on a sand spit (very soft sand and we watched a number of people get stuck). The Lodge is next to the lighthouse and is the converted harbourmasters building. We were there for two nights and initially i wondered what I would do for the...

Definitely worth the rather hair raising journey / skid across the sands to get to this unforgettable building. Truly alone by the crashing waves with only the seal colony for very entertaining company. Gorgeous rooms and lovely restaurant / food but the location and fantastic architecture of the place is really staggering. An adventure from start to finish and well...

Most visitors opt for a night in Swakopmund or Walvis Bay. But we loved the Pelican Point Lodge next to the active lighthouse at the end of a narrow spit of land that can be reached only by a strip of sand with no roads. Once we got to the salt factory drove on a narrow asphalt road, to arrive...
