Hi:
Yellow fever vaccination is only required if you come from a country when the yellow fever exist, is a precaution of Panama Authorities in order to prevent Yellow Fever in their country. The vacconation proof -at least in my case as peruvian tourist- is a yellow card extended by “ministerio de salud” that certifies that I have received the vaccin 10 days prior to arrives at Panama.
Tocumen is in panama city (Pacific ocean shore) and Melia Panama canal is in Colon (Atlantic Ocean shore). I was at Tocumen in August, and I went to Colon by Taxi Cab for US$ 90.00 (3 persons plus luggage) in a very confortable TOyota SUV that we got at 5he airport. You can also ask for the service at internet, and is about $80 from Tocumen to Melia in Colon.
The trip is about one hour long, in a very good highway, sourrounded by the forest and lago gatun.
