We just returned from the Inkaterra Amazonica Reserva and provided below is an accurate assessment that may be useful to future visitors. Bottom line, this Inkaterra is a unique and wonderful experience that I recommend. This is an upscale ecolodge in the jungle of the Peruvian rain forest. But it is an ecolodge in the jungle. That means no wifi,...

This is my first stay in an eco-lodge. Absence of tv, wifi, or cell phone signal are all expected. However the limited availability of electricity during many hours of the day requires definite personal adjustment. It is hot as expected in Amazon even in their spring season. Very difficult to sleep without a fan on at night after 10 pm....

My family and I stayed at the Reserva Amazonica for three nights while we went on many of their offered jungle excursions. The staff there takes care of you from literally start to finish - they pick you up at the Puerto Maldonado airport, drive you to the boat port in a private bus, and take you down the river...

There were tons of great people working at the lodge. Our guide Alberto spoke great English, was super knowledgable about plants and animals of the area, and helped us to see a ton of animals. We were lucky enough to see a monkeys, Caiman, lizards, and many birds. The cabañas are close packed but comfortable and quiet, and right by...

What made this stay memorable for me was the guide, Javier. As you arrive to Puerto Maldonado, you will be greeted by IRA staff who will pick you up and take you to the lodge. You will then be assigned your guide for the duration of your stay and it was an absolute pleasure to have Javier. He is someone...

We were met at the airport and transported by boat to the lodge set alongside the river, and arrived to a warm greeting from the friendly staff. Our cabana was lovely - comfortable and perfectly designed from an eco-perspective to fit in with the rainforest environment. We found the food and drinks to be of a very good standard and...

Being an Eco experience, there is no air conditioning, and it is hot and humid The electricity is turned off for periods during the day so the fan in the room will not be available at these times. The room is basic but pleasant. The bed has a full mosquito net though we weren't bothered by mosquitoes in September Large dining area, Food...

Our 3 night stay in our beautiful cabana was delightful. We did this as an add-on to a main package holiday. The setting was amazing, waking up and going to sleep to the sounds of the rain forest, the cabanas are well screened with mosquito netting all around, the lighting in the cabins remains low so as not to attract...
