We stayed there at the end of January for 2 nights. It is well positioned on the edge of Lake Titicaca but is old and most of the staff, although courteous, didn't really care. It is 2 storeys high and without a lift. There is no in room heating or air conditioning so they gave

We had stayed in a sister hotel in the Sacred Valley Sonesta Posadas del Inca Yucay which we loved, this place is obviously a purpose built hotel needing a facelift it has exceedingly dark corridors and rooms and feels very dated. I’d contacted the hotel via email requesting a

This was the last hotel of our 18 days tour of South America and after all the lovely hotels we had stayed at I was a little disappointed. It was dated and needed a bit of updating. It was comfortable and clean but the room was very basic and quite dark. Food was excellent and

Nice hotel with decent rooms. Carpets are a little worn and no lift to the second floor, but hotel staff are happy to carry your bags up for you. Restaurant is very good and we ate there exclusively as there wasn't much nearby. Restaurant view of the lake was beautiful and

Nice location on the shore of the lake, nice courtyard with alpacas and guinea pigs walking around. Excursion boats are available directly in front of the hotel. The breakfast and hotel offer is ok but far below the Sonesta hotel in Cuscou.

I found the e mail address on the website, they were very helpful. I was very glad to have the car to meet us at Juliaca airport and pay a little extra for reassurance and experienced driver who regularly collects and stops guests.

Best idea is to dress in layers. We were there in March, so early autumn. As we were doing the Lake Titicaca tour of the reed lakes, I needed to put on a windproof jacket when out on the reed lakes, but rest of time had on short sleeves and cotton pants to my ankles. Also carried a light weight fleece jacket but didn't need to use it. Can't believe anyone thought Andean Explorer was boring. We had a fabulous time as did other people on the train. My husband and I were travelling by ourselves but had lots of fun with others we met. it is a fantastic experience and one I have recommended to others.
