Detailed Reviews
The cheapest hotel I could find. Stayed for 15 days. The rooms was on 4th floor nice and clean.
I say rooms because halfway through our stay our air conditioning unit gave out so we were relocated(for free) to another room.
The employees were all kind and willing to help with everything we needed.
Location is nice. Almost next to Ayala mall and the general area is safe and easy to navigate/find transport in the form of either jeepney or bus.
Decor is a bit gloomy and outdated. That beige on the walls is the only thing I disliked.
It is by no means a 5 star hotel but it's a bargain for its price(15 euros a night) anyone would be stupid to pass. I recommend it to everyone who want to visit Cebu on a budget.
We didn't taste their kitchen or visit the gym they have.

I booked this hotel because it is just walking distance from our Cebu office and it advertised that it has a gym. It indeed has a decent gym, but apparently, hotel paying guests are not allowed to use it unless they pay for gym use. Which was not clearly stated on the booking websites. I'm actually ok to pay, but unfortunately, the way this message was relayed to me was very unprofessional. The front desk lady just blatantly told me I cannot use the gym. I was a bit surprised on how she informed me, considering that they are in the service industry.

I tried to choose a hotel near airport and piers, form where I traveled to Bohol and Siquijor.
Booked by e-mail without prepaiment, checked in very early morning.
My room was simple, but absolutely clean, bathroom was OK too. I orderebd meal (omlet) two times by calling to reseption, and both time in 15 minutes I had it in my room.
The girl on reseption answered my quastions and helped me to find the adaptor for electricity cable and place to by food.
And small present - when I checked out and wanted to pay for food I'd ordered it appeared that it was free. Not a big economy but very pleasant.
The location of hotel is OK too - near big crossroads with a lot of jeepneys and taxi but in a calm street. It is comfortable to get to ferries to islands - just 3-5 minutes and not more than 3$ on taxi. Huge SM supermarket also not far and about 10 minutes and 3-5$ by taxi. Round the corner there was a fastfood restoran (like McDonalds) where possible to buy food in evening.
The district is rather far from beach (30 minutes, 15-20$ by taxi).
I liked the hotel and definitly stay there again if will be at Cebu sity.

I don't usually write reviews of places which I've stayed at, but I felt compelled to write one for Allson's Inn in Cebu City. I was previously in Malapascua when I had a lot of foreign currency stolen from my money belt in a private room. I left Malapascua and headed back to Cebu City and reserved a private room for four nights. I had previously stayed at Allson's Inn one time, and found it to be a secure place.
During my four days at Allson's Inn, I had probably left my room no more than ten times, most of the time to buy something to eat or go to the mall. On my last evening, I opened my money belt to get out some cash when I saw that it was significantly lighter. I had made a list of the exact amount of foreign currency I had a few days prior, and now I discovered that a total of AUD$1,050 and USD $100 was missing. I am extremely positive of this because I had specifically made a list of my remaining foreign currency just a few days prior.
Upon discovering the missing cash, I immediately spoke to the young manager in charge. I was informed that even though the hotel had CCTV cameras all around, the one outside my room was not yet connected. Whilst his reasoning was plausible, I still found it hard to believe that that one particular CCTV camera was not connected. The young manager was very understanding of my situation and offered to refund the four nights of accommodation I had already paid.
The next morning, I spoke to his father, who owns the hotel. Even though I had AUD$1,050 and USD $100 stolen from my locked room, I thought it was fair if I got reimbursed half of this amount. Despite the fact that the CCTV camera in question wasn't working (to back up my case that someone had in fact entered the room), the owner refused to believe my explanation and wouldn't reimburse any of the stolen cash. His reasoning was that my case didn't fall under the "Depository Law", and that my case was not beyond a reasonable doubt in his mind. The fact that if the CCTV camera in question had been working, it would have been evident that someone had entered my room.
Basically I was furious that I was somehow labelled as the party at fault for leaving my money in a locked room (which I never asked to be cleaned) when I was in fact the victim. I found his young manager son to be sympathetic and genuinely trying to help. However the owner was doing everything in his power to deny that something had happened, even implying that I had fabricated the entire story up. Even though it was in fact myself who had requested for the (unavailable) CCTV footage didn't seem to have any bearing on his point of view. He said he was going to do some further "investigation" didn't particularly fill me with any confidence when I left.
Be extremely careful of your belongings if you decide to stay here.

I booked a room for a 2 month stay. I contacted them via Email in October 2011.
Jamie Craig replied to me. He was very friendly and we did some exchanges about prices and reservations. Then he said he's reserved a room for us for end of December to end of February.
Upon arriving in the Philippines (at another city), I rang them in November to confirm the booking. They said I don't have a booking. I emailed Jamie back and he said I had lost my booking because somebody else paid for our room in advance!!
If only he told me that a payment was needed to secure our room, then we would have done so. They are terrible. What's the point of reserving a room when you're gonna lose that reservation anyway??
I don't recommend them as you cannot trust what they say!

Uhm. Hmm the value was good. I had no internet in my room So they upgraded me to a family room free. Beds are small and cheap. Mattresses are foam covered in plastic. Very cheaply made. Uhm. I saw a cockroach in my first room and one in the hallway....but this is Philippines, So maybe that'd hard to avoid? Place is alright, short TAXI ride downtown. Uhm. Noise....dogs barking and roosters crowing all night long.

I had the misfortune of arriving without reservations in Cebu City during Sinulog week when accommodations were scarce. The room itself was adequate for the price, but the location left much to be desired. There were no significant shops closer than a couple blocks away, mostly street vendor stalls.
GOOD: demand water heater provided hot shower, the first I had outside of a private home in several visits to the Philippines. Front desk was staffed at all times. Discounts were available for massages and fitness center in the building.
BAD: complementary meals need ordered ahead of time, for breakfast, that means the day before. Room service limited hours. Forget having morning coffee: The hotel did not have brewed coffee at all (default for "coffee in the Philippines is instant, premixed with creamer and sugar unless you specify black.) The closest available brewed coffee was a couple blocks away at Jollibees, with a long line in the morning. Even the closer Dunkin Donuts and "eateries" did not have brewed coffee. The lobby fridge for drinks was not restocked when Items ran out.

I stayed here for 6 nights April 2012 Its a budget accommodation rooms have hot cold shower
a fridge, and TV. I booked a deluxe room on the top floor to avoid the noisy of passing traffic.
The Inn is locate at 129 Gen. Echavez St Cebu City, tel 032 232 1640 .
This Inn is undergoing major building work with 40 rooms being added so be prepared as its
an ongoing work during the day...
The inn serves food hot and cold beverages, but what i found about this place was that if you
needed help with any situation then the staff and who i later learned was the owner, really wanted to help you. I became Ill after eating a fish dish in the Ayala mall...The owner gave me medication and 2 days later i was in good health :) I would like to thank them for all their kind help and making my stay very pleasant.( I will stay here again ) its located about 10 mins away from the Ayal shopping mall by taxi and 15 mins from the ferry port and 45 mins from the airport..

I stayed in Allsons Inn for 3 nights in September and enjoyed my stay there. There is a 24/7 security guard that helps you get a safe cab whenever you need one and makes you feel safe. The rooms are for around 20 $ per night and include one meal (choice of breakfast/lunch/dinner) that is brought right to your room. The room is functional with a bed and small desk and even a tv. private washroom with hot water. the staff is friendly and helpful. the location is secure but not right in the center. however cabs are cheap and readily available. i would stay here again!
