I've stayed in this hotel a couple of times during business trips to Cebu, which I vist very often. The rooms are small(-ish) but very comfortable and "homey". They have complete amenities for the traveller in the rooms (Wi-Fi, good sized refrigerator, TV with a lot of cable channels to choose from) and for the religious, a church right across the street where you can hear mass daily.

The breakfast buffet is "sufficient" and the staff in the hotel are super-helpful.

It was a very cheap hotel considering the location (Kensington, 10 mins from the Natural History Museum). We also got breakfast for free! Indeed, it wasn't of the best quality (cheese, milk, ham *better than usual cheap quality; it tasted like real meat*; generally, it was basic and very much edible but not fancy,,, however, I didn't expect this to be Hilton quality for such a hotel - still great it was incuded in the package) but at least something! We had a very lovely view balcony view that reminded us of Paris! The only issue was that the prohibition of smoking in the room space which included the balcony! We had also spotted hotel staff inspecting balconies from the ouside whether someone's smoking... Very weird. However, our room was very clean. We booked for 3 person room and we got a double bed with two singles which allowed all of us sleep separeely. Super convinient. Hence, I can recommend this hotel. Indeed, it's not 5 star quality, but we've spent just one night and we were more than satisifed for this advertised hotel quality.

I have to say this place had the most comfortable bed I slept in so far on my 2 weeks in the Philippines. However I found it very noisy, even though I was staying on the 6th floor I heard the noise from the street level and even things in the hall, however The staff were amazing and helped me with my laundry and did other general things for me. However the Hot water wasn't available for the evening I was staying there.

We were due to stay here for 3 nights. The first night we had no hot water. We reported this to the hotel, but they could not fix the problem. They said an engineer would be needed the next day to solve the problem. The next day, the "engineer" arrived and said that the problem could not be fixed. They suggested another room, but that too had no hot water. Senior management were not to be found. The reception staff were forced to try and manage the situation whilst management stayed away. Eventually I forced myself into the back office to insist that the managers took responsibility for the situation and not leave the poor front staff to deal with it. The solution offered was to bring buckets of hot water to my room. I did not feel this was acceptable, so I asked for a refund. The hotel front officer manager, Ms Christine Vildozola said it was not the hotel's policy to provide refunds. From our point of view, the situation was untenable, so we left the hotel and moved to one which does have hot water at our own cost.
Other points. The roads around the hotel are dark at night and beggars and homeless people surround the hotel. If you walk anywhere, you will have to pass these unfortunate people each time. It can make one feel quite uneasy and unsafe. We had breakfast one day. These is tailored to Filippino guests so European guests may feel the choice is quite limited.

Don't be fooled by all this glamour reviews . I visited this hotel last and this year and I'm very disappointed this time. First the GOOD - Location , in the heart of Cebu ,
Second the BAD - Everything else . You will see very dirty hallways , stain bed sheets .
Dated furniture and mold smell in the rooms . The breakfast is a joke ,and there is not hot water in the bathroom. Obviously they change the management and this hotel is on free fall. Save your money and look everywhere else .

I checked in on a Sunday. There was no hot water. The safe did not work. The toilet was leaking on the floor. The tv did not work. The room was dirty. The staff was friendly but I want HOT WATER. They sent maintenance up to try to get hot water to no avail. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at.

I payed for 2 nights by Agoda service about 3500 pesos. Biggest mistake ever. The hotel management made me pay 2250 additional pesos for early check in . I do understand what the policy of every hotel are different (most of them will just welcome you and try to made you comfortable even if your room are not ready yet) and after 5 months of travelling in Asia I'm sure I will stay my 2 weeks in Cebu as far from here as possible.
I would never agree to pay such money for the half of night but there is no hope to go anyway in this part of Cebu after your taxi is out - it's more like getto around, urinating people and such staff. It's just unsafe for single foreign woman traveller to stay on the street.
I don't like hotel managment who made money becouse of it. They spoiled the beginning of my first visit to Philippines so much.
But room was fine and clean, even noisy. Lift isn't working properly. But safe, teapot and iron were ok, and bed was very comfortable.

SnezhanaK, It is unfortunate how you view your experience with us as the "biggest mistake ever" because of the early check in charge. I understand that you got a very good deal from one of our partners making the charge seemingly high for your 5am check-in instead of the 2pm regular check-in time. We are glad to hear of your positive feedback regarding all the other aspects of your stay. The mention of our bed defines the sleep experience of our guests and is considered one of the most important aspect for a traveler. Thank you for taking time to write this review.

Hi! John B. I am glad to know that you were able to get the discounted rate of Php 6,300 per night (double occupancy) as compared to other guests who paid for Php 11,400.00 per night for 3 nights (double occupancy) and were very happy. As it is Sinulog, we have prepared special procedures for various reasons and on top is to ensure that controls are in place and guarantee smooth operations, sound sleep and security while other guests are enjoying the event. As part of check - in porcedure, set of guidelines were presented while staying at the hotel. Per the records in the security camera you had multiple guests inside the room past visiting hours which is 12am. I trust you understand that we have other guests too. The property being a boutique hotel caters to various top markets thus we provide complete complimentary amenities inside the room which includes the coffee and creamer. Charges only apply for requests of more than what is provided on a daily basis. Thank you for taking time to write this review about St. Mark Hotel.

Check-in and check-out went smoothly. The hotel was clean. The room was quiet. The junior suite was very spacious. The bed was quite comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms need more electrical outlets. I had to unplug lamps in order to charge my laptop and mobile phone. It was difficult regulating the room temperature. The AC unit was positioned to blow cold air directly down onto the bed. It was hot and humid during my stay. So the room was unbearably hot with the AC off. However, setting the thermostat to keep most of the room comfortably cooled made it intolerably cold in the bed. So every night my sleep was restless and broken. I woke up repeatedly to turn the AC off, then on, then off, then back on again. The bathroom shower’s water pressure and water temperature were lower than desired. I would only recommend the hotel’s restaurant as a last option. You will have limited choices if you do not want pork, and the buffet items were always cold. Some items on the breakfast buffet were clearly old items left over from the previous night’s dinner buffet. The street in front of the hotel was loud and congested when the church across the street held services, but the street was always quiet at night. Despite the room from improvement the hotel is decently priced. And if this is the area of town you desire to stay, it is one of the better options available. It is not a bad value for the price.

Dear HM Travel 1 Thank you very much for this review. It is only through feedback that we are able to improve upon the service that we provide our valued guests. I would like to address in bullet points your concerns. 1. Aircon unit was already fixed by our maintenance staff for all of our guests to have a comfortable sleep. 2. Water pressure should not be an issue anymore on your next stay. 3. The restaurant now has wide variety of food choices from Filipino to International Dishes. We hope to see you again and experience these new improvements.

I've been in this Hotel for 2 nights! It's located in the North Part of the Cebu City, near Fuente Osmeña Circle. From the airport you take like 40min to 1h just for a 15km distance (the traffic is insane) and cost near 250 pesos. Nearby the hotel there are several malls but the best option is to go on foot! The best is Metro Ayala Center Cebu just 15min walking!
My room in this stay was in 4th floor with an interior view for the compound! The room had a decent size for a 3 stars hotel and also had several amenities as coffee, tea and bottled water. The breakfast is in the style of Philippines with lots of food, like a lunch or a dinner, but with a lack of options in bread and without cheese and ham.
The best of this hotel really is the staff! Very nice, attentive and with several tips of things to do in Cebu City
