This resort was absolutely beautiful, the grounds, facilities, snorkling right on your doorstep plenty of fish and coral to explore. the private beach was so relaxing and very much enjoyed by my teenage children,the blue water was amazing so clear and clean.
We had a partial Seaview connecting room spacious and very clean as expected. We had our own in room coffee machine ❤️it.
some of the staff where soooo helpful and some couldn’t be bothered especially in club lounge very disappointing.
Club lounge is where Shangri La feel way below standard. I’ve never been in a club lounge all around the world even in other Shangri la destination where the selection of food/snacks and drinks was minimal.
I highly recommend a staff member go visit and learn and see The Le Meridian in Kota Kinabalu club lounge if I can rate 💯 I would give more In product and service.
Your staff couldn’t bother them selves on more than one occasion to even ask what we would like or if they can assist in anyway even though was empty, very disappointing.
We walked out twice in our stay. The variety was exactly the same 4 trays with minimal tiny sweets on each tray all day till night, some biscuits, whole fruit on side who has time to peel fruit and dirty hands I think Should be cut up in a hotel,tea/coffee and drinks.. Not worth the upgrade.
Iam going to place a seperate review to the outstanding staff/chef who I applaud for the food and excellent service from staff that sit you down as you arrive to the whole team inside that go well beyond there time to make you feel as a welcomed guest in the Tides restaurant, I thank you all. 😘
Being a member for over 15 years I only stay Shangri La on most of my oversea trips so I know your high standards to your guest in making them feel comfortable and special.

We always make sure to include in our yearly bucket list to stay in Shangrila Mactan for our wedding anniversary and thankful that despite the pandemic God gave us the provision to still celebrate it here. This year’s stay was even more meaningful becuase despite the struggle in tourism, Shangrila still put their guest at the top most priority doing all the safety protocols and utmost attention in sanitizing the entire resort especially the rooms giving you the peace of mind for your kids and senior love ones. Cebu locals are extra previledge to avail of the beauty of the resort and the extra extra perks in this season of pandemic. Shout out to Julie Ann (Manager) for going the extra mile in ensuring the guests safety and also to Ms. Nica who’s always caring eversince! More power, Shangrila Mactan!

Stayed here with my 2 young children and my parents to celebrate my 40th birthday and enjoy a short 5 day break together. It was very busy and sometimes crowded but it was CNY weekend so we did expect this. Breakfast wait times can be 10-20 mins as I've heard similar experiences at check in. However the resort is quite large with many things to do. Good choice of bars and restaurants (Fish platters in Cowrie Cove were great). Excellent beaches with fish feeding and boat activities. The play place is divided into two so the toddlers can play away from the older children. Also has an arcade with games and air hockey, tokens cost 100 peso for 10 games so very cheap and easily keeps the kids entertained. The staff are very good, attentive and always smiling. My family and I had an amazing time and will be back again. I highly recommend this resort to other families but also couples who want to enjoy the peace and quiet. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Recommend the half or full day boat trip with fun fishing and snorkeling - can be booked at Scotty's place on site.

The positives for this hotel are the high standards of food, range of restaurants, cleanliness and beautiful beach front location with stunning coral reefs. However the rooms are very tired fro a 5 star hotel and you have to pay for everything!! Even water in the restaurants was charged for, and was 6-7 times the cost of what we had been paying outside of the hotels and more than a bottle of water in London! This was shocking for us as it was the 4th hotel we had stayed in on our trip and the only one that refused to provide free water in heir restaurants. For a hotel that claims to be sustainable it is also disappointing that they adding significantly to plastic waste by serving plastic bottled water! You will also find yourself needing to pay for Pool (£5/half hour!!!), table tennis and mini golf (over £10 each!) this is quite possibly the only hotel resort i have ever been to where you have needed to pay for these types of activities, and certainly the only one on our trip. Finally the trips they offer are over 5 times the price of the same trip you can book online! As the only 5* hotel on Cebu it doesn't leave much of a choice, perhaps this is why Shangdi La feel like they can get away with charging extra for absolutely everything.

We love our experience at Shangri-la Mactan. Couples and families will definitely enjoy the beautiful hotel and world-class customer service here. Beach is really well-maintained and since it’s a marine sanctuary, you can feed the fishes. Fish feed is free at their beach kiosk.

We stayed here for 5 nights in an Ocean Wing club room. Loved this room very spacious and luxurious in an older world charm, which is classical. The staff went beyond to serve. There was nothing they could not do for us. As an example when the WiFi went down they provided a portable WiFi devise when we told them we needed to maintain communication with our company.
The 40 acrea grounds are magnificently managed, the private beach was clean each day, the reef fish were unbelievable, very magical.
We enjoyed all the restaurants and the service and food was of the highest standard.
The spa is this hotels hidden gem, its vast, one of the biggest I've been to. The treatments were wonderful, they even severed us lunch in a very private small pool area. Fantastic. We'll done Shangri LA.

Shangri-La has always lived up to its name as a 5-star hotel that puts its customers above everything else. I was impressed with the hotel’s security because vehicles are thoroughly checked upon entry, and guests’ bags have to pass through a scanner every time they re-enter the hotel. Our room was very clean and smelled fresh when we arrived, and a wide selection of different cuisines is available for its guests. Aside from the hotel’s nearness to the airport, getting a cab or Grab is very easy. Because the Shang Mactan used to be the country’s biggest resort, guests can spend their entire stay there without having to leave the hotel premises. Their rates are reasonable (I call it affordable luxury), and the staff very helpful. The employees are not used to speaking Tagalog though so perhaps they can brush up on that.

Our sony action cam has been robbed from our room. When the management came to our room and to talked to us, they promised us that they will show us the cctv footage. Our room is at the corner and there’s a cctv near our door. But we are so disappointed that after 2days of investigation they changed their mind and they said that they cannot disclose the cctv to us. We are 101% sure that we didn’t take it outside the room because we left the underwater accessories of it at home so we can’t use it at all. It was placed in the table near the tv and kept inside the ziplock pouch (which is transparent). But when we are packing for check out, only the ziplock pouch of the cam was left in the table. It disappeared in the air! We had a wonderful time in shangrila mactan, the staff are so kind and helpful which makes our stay so comfortable. And I’m sad for these hardworking people who does their job truthfully and just getting damage by this kind of people. Robbery in this hotel is REAL. This is the first time that happened to us. I will still recommend this resort, and in-fact, I have already booked a room for my sister as gift. Just need to be extra careful with your belongings. Giving 5 star for the rest of hardworking people in this resort and the beautiful beach and facilities. Hope they can stop this robbery as it really damaging their name.

My wife stayed for 10 days as a quarantine arrival at Cebu. The room was nice, with balconies on two sides and lovely views. Two problems with this visit: (1) the food was poor - Shangri La seemed to be cutting down on costs by delivering cheap street food. If you were confined to a room for 10 days, would you like heavy carbs with rice three times a day? No vegetables either. After a couple of days she negotiated getting fruit and veg instead of the rice. (2) The service was really poor - most calls to reception resulted in zero action. It took follow up calls to get the service staff to do anything. I had arranged a supposedly nice hotel for my wife to undertake her mandatory quarantine, but her experience was typical of a budget hotel, albeit with a nice room. Look at the food pictures - this is what Shangri La Mactan feeds its guests...

It’s always nice to come back here after the Covid closures. The place when me and my partner Steve met. (It’s like Every year we try and make sure we can stay and come back here) . Sad to say but the resort were hit by the Typhoon Odette and you can definitely see the damages from it. But the resort were doing the renovations when we left there. Staffs need not to forget to greet their guests.(coz we observed that it’s lacking again)
Overall, we still love staying here and looking forward the Ocean Wing will be available. JuVy from Housekeeping always make sure we have a clean room and drinking water supplies. (8043)
