Pros: Conveniently located, only a short walk from the metro; decent price; breakfast was included and typically consisted of juices, some pastries, oatmeal, the basics; the front desk staff is very helpful with things like directions and setting up taxis. Cons: We arrived with a group, and though it was rather large, the hotel was unprepared for us. We arrived...

We stayed here for several days of sightseeing in St. Petersburg. The hotel is conveniently located near one of metro stops which is only about two stops from the center of town. We had one of only two of the rooms with air-conditioning and it was very nice. The rooms without air-conditioning are a little smaller and not quite so...

We stayed here before and love the central location. Our room was comfortable, spacious and has everything we need. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We have a very good memory of restaurant, where you can taste a lot of different Russian and European food, prises are very affordable too. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and...

Hotel is pretty basic, but probably good value for money In a good position. Easy walk to the metro and right into the city if you are happy to walk a bit further. We often got the metro one way or the other but enjoyed walking around the off the beaten track streets. Strange, but very small towels! WIFI was...

A small little hotel set a bus/ metro ride away from St. Petersberg's central area. Excellent Reception staff- spoke impeccable English, and went out of their way to organise things for us. They organised cabs for our trips to the opera and night boat trip, and followed up with the cab drivers until we were back in the hotel. The...

The hotel is very nice and comfortable. Rooms are quite spacious and clean. It was obvious for us that the staff doing their best to satisfy guests. The Metro station is only 5 minutes away which was a good point for us too. We really made a good choice staying in this wonderful hotel.

The front-desk staff spoke good English and were really helpful. The rooms were nice and the food in the restaurant OK. That turned into a fairly sociable bar later in the evening. There is free internet, but you have to stand up and use it in the lobby. The problem is the location - it's 15-20 minutes walk to the...

I recently completed my first trip to Russia. I was travelling on business to a small town but at the end of the trip I took an extra couple days to visit St. Petersburg by myself. A colleague who has lived in Russia for several years now recommended the AlexanderPlatz to me. It's a small hotel and it feels great....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel welcomed its first guests in 2006. This modern, five-storey building, complete with elevator and in-house restaurant , is located on a quiet back street near Ligovsky Prospect, within 5 minutes' walking distance of Obvodny Canal metro station. The name of the hotel chosen by no coincidence, traces its roots back to 19th Century Berlin. The hotel was named in honor of the square by the same name found in Berlin - AlexanderPlatz- which in turn was named in honor of the Russian Emperor Alexander I. The distinguishing feature of the hotel is the availability of saunas in deluxe rooms, as well as the sauna found on a separate floor for all hotel guests. ... more   less
