The location is okay. Walking distance to JR Sapporo Station. You can access to New Chitose Airport or Shin Chitose Airport but going out to the left side of the hotel, toward the next hotel, ANA hotel, juat in front there you will see a bus stop. You can get airport bus there at 1030 Yen. Room was greatly clean...

This is an easy walk from the JR Sapporo Train Station but may be worth a taxi if you are arriving when it is dark out. The staff were polite, English a bit of a struggle but every one is trying. The accommodations are large compared with other more modern Japanese Hotels there is a convenience store downstairs.

Recently stayed here for our one night in Sapporo. The location was great - within walking distance of the TV tower, Susukino, and few of Sapporo's other main city attractions. Personally, I had no problem speaking to the staff and thought their English was fine. I guess it depends on who is working at the time that you check in....

We were in Sapporo to do some snow skiing at Sapporo Teine, just outside of Sapporo. Since there were 4 of us, we requested a room to accommodate 4 people. We were pleasantly surprised to find a room with 4 single beds, which worked out great. Luckily for us, the location of the Monterey Edelhof was perfect. It is only...

We stayed 2 nights, well located for Train Station, use exit 21 which has a lift and the hotel is a short walk away. Close to Odori Park which was great as we were visiting for the Snow Festival. We found the reception staff had adequate English. Room was comfortable, although small and only one lounge chair. There is no...

Check in staff could not speak english at all, no one to help for the luggages. Visited with my family and we had one child even he had to carry the luggage due to that. My children said should not have visited Sapporo. The hotel was expensive and was average or rather would say that it was old fashioned, room...

Staff at the reception are very friendly and helpful. They are willing to help you out with all kinds of questions and concerns. Rooms are not too small, facilities are nice. There are two strange experience I have though: 1) they could not announce where breakfast will be; you have to look it up in the elevator each morning..funny and...

My family and I spent 3 nights at this hotel before moving to Club Med Sahoro. Nothing to complain about in terms of location and room, but wasn't blown away either. What did impress me was one member of staff who went the extra mile to save the next leg of my holiday from impending disaster. I was terribly let...

We stayed for 3 nights in a room for 4 paxs. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I would have rated it a 5 stars if not for the the smelly toilet. Althought we have requested for housekeeping daily, the toilet is always reeked of ammonium smell. Perhaps the housekeeping could wipe or even wask the toilet floor more thoroughly.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hotel is designed to evoke the luxury of late 19th Century Vienna, with the name Edelhof meaning "Manor House" in German. The hotel is built on the site of the former Hokkaido Regional Forestry Office, and to this day there are many reminders of the site's history such as the big leafy trees in the hotel grounds, helping to create the ambience of a traditional Manor House garden. We hope our guests will feel part of the story of classical Vienna during their stay. ... more   less
