Due to a change of plans we suddenly had to book a hotel in Kyoto for the night with no notice. I was scanning a bunch of sites and mainly coming up with either cheap hostels or ordinary rooms that cost more than $200 per night. Then at the last minute a room at this place popped up, and we...

This hotel is conveniently placed for anyone coming into the city by train as it's only a block from the train station and easy to find. It's modern & minimal as you would expect from a Japanese Hotel. The room was simply furnished but ultra clean and the beds comfortable. Lovely bathroom as well. Although we don't go on holiday...

We are very grad to hear good comments from you. Next time please try our Japanese dishies at our restaurant, casual one at lunch or Kaiseki at night.

The hotel is in a great position near the station and many shops and restaurants. Keeping in mind this is a very traditional hotel the rooms are a little smaller than westerners are used to but very clean and comfortable. The Japanese traditional breakfast takes some getting used to and I had to sneak a peek at the locals to...

This place was great. The hot springs on the 15th floor were fantastic, well set up of course. Great facilities all round. Rooms spacious and spotless. We had a semi-traditional Japanese room. Beds not Tatami but mattresses on floor were super comfortable. Service and hospitality great. Location close to Kyoto station so access for Metro and buses great.

I'm a frequent japan traveller, and have been staying in tons of japanese hotels and ryokan of different classes, price ranging from 3000 yen to 80000yen per head.   I'd like to book those special rooms with private onsen few months prior to my planned day of staying, but there seems to be some problems with their booking system in...

last stayed here in April 2015 for 4 nights for sakura in a spacious twin room of 30 sqm only. This time we picked a good deal which includes a 23 sqm double room, with breakfast and bus passes for 3 days. The room was a corner room facing the main road. Though it was on 7F, sometimes it could...

Thank you very much for your staying with us. Your good comment about our breakfast is the point we try to sell. We are serving Japanese style set menu, not buffet style. Our customer like this Japanese breakfast. We are very sorry about missing your tooth blush. We keep convening information accurately. We are looking forward to seeing you again.

We used to Ryokan and grand-opened in May 2014 as a Japanese style hotel. We try to keep a Japanese style eg. tatami space in a room, entrance, garden and Onsen. It is 5 minute walk from Kyoto station and very convenient for sightseeing and shopping in Kyoto and Osaka. We are waiting for your next visit.

We decided to go for a Japanese style room on this occasion. This is good in the sense that you seem to get a center room which is a little bigger. Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
