I stayed in this hostel 2 days, and I have to say that I just needed a place to sleep and rest while I organized my trip. The staff was able to communicate in English (something that unfortunately few places places in Japan have) and...More
The place is well placed, just near the Kyoto station and the facilities provide you everything you need, rent bicycle also.
However, the low price reflect the quality of stuffs : Smelly toilet, little futon.

A very basic hostel. Booked due to everywhere else being full. Accommodation was quite old and so therefor cold even in April. There was a heater provided so that was certainly used whilst we stayed. Again showers etc old but met the needs of backpackers...More
This is the worst hostel I ever been to. Smelled bad, something between wastes, smoke and mold. You could basically hear your neighbors breath. Bad service. If you want the reception to call a hostel, restaurant or what ever, prepare to pay for it.

Hi, I have already booked 4 bunk beds in the Female Dormitory Room at Tomato GH in Kyoto. The room description I saw during the booking was "Dormitory offers 4 beds / 2 bunk beds". I take that to mean there are only 4 beds in this room, so we don't have to share the room with others.
However, later on, I saw the offer "bunk bed in Female Dormitory Room" again. The description of the room is the same - "Dormitory offers 4 beds / 2 bunk beds". Does this mean the room we have booked actually has more than 4 beds? We would like a private room for 4 persons / 4 bunk beds and do not want to share with others. So, if the room has more than 4 beds, then we will have to re-consider our booking. Please clarify. Thanks.
