A beautiful traditional ryokan in the heart of the park. Breakfast was homemade and delicious - best we had on our trip. Walk through park is pretty in blossom season. Easy to access public transport links. Not easy for taxi drivers to find the inn though! Rooms were nice with the traditional beds and attire provided. Hot baths. Always green...

We stayed three nights in this beautiful inn. The inn is located in a park within walking distance of Gion, one of the main sightseeing districts in Kyoto. It's the perfect combination of peace and convenience. We stayed in a beautiful room on the second floor. Every day when we came back to the hotel, our room had been supplied...

The staff is friendly and the setting is quite traditional. The location is remote enough to feel a bit exclusive but close enough to attractions that makes it walk-able. You would definitely want to arrive and depart in a taxi if you have suitcases though.

We were lucky enough to stay here on a snow weekend, and the place looked great with a good covering of snow. The rooms were warm and as part of the overall Ryokan experience, we prepared our bed each day, and had a warm shower, followed by a reflective soak in the bath. The rooms are private but the showers...

This beautifully situated small inn is the perfect place to stay in Kyoto near Maruyama Park and the Gion District. The inn is on the eastern (mountain) side of Maruyama Park and feels like a warm, traditional Japanese house. It is easy to take the 100 or 110 bus from Kyoto station to Maruyama Park on the eastern edge of...

Yoshimizu is a small bed and breakfast establishment located in the Maruyama park, ca 1K from the main gate of the Yasaka shrine and the streets of Gion. It is a bit hidden in the park. It is very basic and simple, no luxury. The building is old and in a quite poor condition. Many reviews were praising the quietness...

Another lovely Inn on our trip, rooms as usual basic but comfy, Onsen suitable for one person at a time or v close couple. Food for breakfast a bit eccentric but fine. Location ideal for visiting Kyoto, set in a park so once found easy to find again( take a taxi to get there on first arrival). Staff are excellent...

Great stay in this ryokan amid nature without the need to leave Kyoto City. Its located in the woods at the top of Maruyama-koen Park. You are surrounded by maple and bamboo trees so you are truly in nature. Rooms are traditional in that you sleep on the floor on futons that you need to make up so be prepared...
