Short distance from Kyoto station and a welcoming atmosphere in the lobby area. Staff was very professional and very accommodating. Enjoyed the areas many restaurants and all were within 5 minutes walk around the block or across the street.

It was my fourth visit to Kyoto and my second time staying at Daiwa Roynet Hachijogochi. Considering the price, I would say it is the best or the second best hotel among the Kyoto hotels I stayed.

Hotel is walking distance from the Kyoto main station. Staff is super friendly and baby friendly too. They provided baby toiletries and little origami papers to entertain the little ones. Highly recommend this hotel. Thank you staff of Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto!

The hotel is ideally situated within walking distance of the Kyoto station. Then turn left out the door and a few 100m you can get on the subway or catch the bus 207 to Gion district. Breakfast has a mix of Japanese and western food.

Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the

Great question. My wife and I stayed in a very traditional ‘Ryokan’ on about the 2nd day into our holiday - and it was a shell shock! They spoke little or no English and it was hard going. Having said that, it was a good experience. However, we stayed at a more relaxed Ryokan later in our trip, the staff spoke limited English and tried to accomodate us. They also put on a (Japanese version of a ) western breakfast which we appreciated.
So give it a try - if it is too hard, have a backup plan - and my saviour was Google Translate with the Japanese dictionary
