As noted in other reviews, the hotel is in a great and central location (a few blocks from the subway, lots of restaurants, and a bakery next door and convenience stores within easy reach...and a Starbucks a couple of blocks away if you're so disposed). Concierge is very helpful, and the staff friendly and accommodating. The rooms small but nicely...

The hotel is located right in the heart of Kyoto close to most of the shrines and temples you'd want to visit. Plenty of food and fun around the hotel. Room was a little small with a view of an alleyway, but it was quiet and quite cozy. Coin laundry machines definitely can't handle large loads, so ensure you split...

A stylish hotel on the northern side of the downtown shopping district, the Royal Park is close to two subway stations and a host of bus routes. It's well-staffed and generally well-run, though occasionally things are just slightly amiss. No suggestion here that anything is bad, rather a few details miss the mark. The room decor can appear a bit...

The hotel is located in best possible location in Kyoto main city, near Street market, near eateries, near subway, bus stops, high end brand shops, 1 km away from Central banking district. The concierge is very helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms are surprisingly large and "Japanese clean". I'll go back to the same place again and again. Great value for money.

This is a wonderful hotel in an excellent location. Wonderful because the rooms are new and big, the bathrooms are huge and cozy, service is excellent and the breakfast is delicious. Location is right in the heart of Kyoto. Bus stops, shops are are a few feet away. The Nishiki market is about 500 meters away. I would say that...

The location was perfect.. close to great restaurants and transport links. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was large by Japanese standards, well furnished and provisioned and the bed very comfortable. The availability of a free laundry was handy. A very short walk to a terrific Japanese restaurant "Tsubaqlo".

Room size is good for 3 adults even though is expected small but cosy with great cleanliness . The convenient location give it a plus and we are glad we booked this hotel as it's in walking distance from the famous Nishiki market and surround with eatery and shopping streets.

This hotel was recommended by a friend who had stayed there previously. We had a pleasant stay at this hotel, even if it was just overnight. The entrance and lobby was very classy and had ample room for us to sit while waiting. Our room was clean and very comfortable for 3 persons (corner deluxe twin). Bathroom also very nice....

Staying in City Center

Neighbourhood Profile
City Center
No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
