We were greeted by very friendly staff and promptly sent off to our room. Room not large but well appointed with great bathroom. Good range of food at breakfast with enough to satisfy the western appetite. Hotel is near to restaurants and a long arcade...More
Modern hotel - we upgraded and got a large room. Breakfast not impressive so eat out. Has laundry facilities. Does not provide body lotion in the bathroom else every thing is fine. Quite easily accessible if you have luggage. Ask for english tea bags if...More
Nothing special in this hotel. Bathroom wad best feature of the room. Concierge lady was helpful, in that she carried out a tour booking without creating a problem. Their credit card machine didn't recognize my Visa Card, issued by a non-Japanese bank, and they weren't...More
We spent our first 4 nights in Kyoto in this hotel and it was a very nice introduction to Japan, a gorgeous country. Very convenient location, the rooms were clean, the bed comfortable and we even had a view of the neighbouring buildings rooftop garden.
Enjoyed the room, albeit bit small for three. Services very standard. Hotel breakfast overpriced and a bit militant in terms of seating and eating, which is why 4 stars. But good place next door. Good location of hotel and great hotel service staff to help...More

No district of Kyoto is quite as representative of its blended nature as the City Center. By day, the covered shopping arcades along Kawaramachi and Shijo Street bring deal hunters and fashionistas out in droves to peruse the clothing, accessories, gifts, and home goods offerings. When it grows dark, the City Center is a hip spot for nightlife, alive with bars and clubs. A trendy culinary scene and an abundance of
local watering holes give the Center its youthful vibrancy. In contrast, the quieter areas of the City Center seem a world away, shielded from noise by the foliage of the public gardens and zen spaces surrounding the area's shrines, castles, and the Imperial Palace. These ancient and sacred spots are seamlessly folded into the scenery, providing a respite from the energy of the city, but close enough to put you directly back onto the pulse of the city when you're ready.
