We stayed here one night after our tour ended in Hiroshima. We know we want to stay at Kyoto Station for the convenience of taking public transportation. This hotel is right across the street from Kyoto Station West Exit, very convenient. The room is clean and comfortable. The staff speaks good English and very helpful. The hotel has many restaurants... More

I arranged by phone for an elderly couple I was traveling with to stay here, and they had only positive things to say about their experience. My friends don't speak any Japanese and had no problem checking in or getting to their room, asking questions. They were very happy with the hotel, loved the beds after sleeping on futon for... We had a wonderful stay at this fine hotel. Opposite the Train station and the subway system. So easy to get around this great city. Rooms, service, breakfast - all were great. We found the beds and pillows a little hard though.

Someone else booked this hotel for me, it have a great location, just in front of Kyoto Station, the hotel is large and is always crowed, people coming and going, anyway everything looks to go smooth, despite the people check in was fast, room is good for a Japanese hotel, clean, small size as expected, pillow and bed were hard... Fantastic location right opposite the Kyoto station. It's a Large hotel so caters for lots of bus tours but rooms were spacious and not flash but well equipped. Bathroom had shower over bath and all personal amenities supplied. Rooms were very clean and had a vending machine for drinks and an ice machine which was handy. Around the corner a... More

Good hotel with easy access and walking distance from Kyoto Station. Nice rooms. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but there are several nice places to have breakfast at the train station. Good location to tour the city.

This hotel is right across the street from the East end of the train station. Beautiful property. Helpful staff and easy to access all transportation throughout Kyoto. The room was modern, fairly large, and very clean. Wifi is available at no cost. Restaurants within the hotel and many across the street in the train station. Great place to stay in... More

Nice Hotel and good location as it is just located just opposite the Kyoto Station. There is a mall just beside the hotel with GAP outlet and Daiso. However appreciate that if the hotel provide the safety box.

I recently went to Japan (Oct 28 to Nov 5, 2016) and upon arrival we stayed first in the New Miyako Hotel in Kyoto. It was situated near the Shinkansen station and other train lines which made it easy access for us since we rode the Shinkansen to and from Hiroshima. The hotel was also near a number of restaurants... More

The room was nice. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights. My only problem is the comfort room is too small. The glass door is transparent. You can see someone's shadow using the toilet inside. It was nice especially the location. Though wish there is more food option at breakfast buffet @ Rondo cafe.

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighbourhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
