This is one of the few ryokans to take bookings over the internet. Their level of English meant that our stay was comfortable and easy. The futons are comfy, and we were served hot towel and local snack plus green tea each day. We didn't brave the same sex open bathhouse, and opted not to eat at the ryokan. Would...

It was my first stay in the Ryokan and quite phenomenal experience. The traditional building seems very old and surrounded by bamboo walls. When we arrived the Ryokan, they assigned our dedicate staff. She was very friendly and always smiling (Some people might think that it is too much) and also keep make atmosphere lively. My wife quite good to...

Stayed at Seikoro while visiting Kyoto for two nights. I wasn't too sure what a Ryokan was to be honest, but my daughter wanted to try it so we did. Still for the price they charge, I felt they could have done something to make the rooms more comfortable. Part of the problem was that the rooms are fairly small,...

I am confused by the reviews left by other people — perhaps they don't know what to expect from a ryokan? First, what people describe as 'nagging' is better understood as traditional Japanese hospitality. Each room comes with an extraordinarily attentive maid whose job is to guide you through the phases of a stay in a traditional hotel, including tea,...

The hotel is a classic design with well appointed tatami rooms. The mats are in perfect shape, the room is beautiful, the garden outside is perfectly Japanese. What i love the most are the people here. Although their english are not so fluent but they are very helpful and hospitable. Would definitely be back if I was to travel to...

Persistent staff who wake you up and not flexible. Over price for the place The feeling is like staying in a house with nagging parents. They insisted us to sleep by 9pm. Dinner and breakfast is not worth the price .....

When I found out how much my husband paid for this accommodation booking I just about fell over. But I did look forward to spending 3 nights here to see what the big deal was. We spent several nights in Tokyo and then Hiroshima in Western style hotels so this was supposed to be a nice change. The staff were...

If you are a little nervous about staying at a traditional Japanese inn, or worry about language, or dealing with unfamiliar customs (or wonder if it's really worth a chunk of money) don't be. This is a remarkable, unmissable experience, and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Our attendant ( you will see a lot...

If you want to experience a traditional japanese inn, this is very nice. clean, pleasant staff. However, it is next to a major road so it is LOUD all hours of the day and night. The staff is not too helpful if you want to get information about going other places as their english is limited to so do your...

Had an amazing experience from the time we checked in to the the time we left this place. All the staff were very nice.My family and I got to try on the traditional kimonos, Our room has a private bath but we still used the public onsen to truly experience the ryokan. The ten course meal is indeed a Japanese haute...
