The service here was truly outstanding. The attentiveness level is off the charts. They make the Four Seasons seem like a Motel 6. Every day, when we returned to our room, they would immediately bring tea and cookies, and the food is incredibly good. One evening we returned to our room and they had brought our bottle of sake on...

I stayed one night at Seikoro Inn. The inn itself is very cute and timeless. You can tell it has some wear and tear but not to be considered a bad thing. It is original and authentic. The rooms was fine. My only reservation was the staff was not very communicative - all other hotels I stayed at in Tokyo...

Stayed here for my 1st visit to Kyoto. Situated at a quiet lane, of which just 1 block apart from the subway station. We arrived in the early morning, staff are friendly and helpful. They helped us for keeping our luggage, and sending directly to our room before we back. The room is spacious and clean. A real Japanese style...

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for three nights and almost cried when we had to leave. The staff was so friendly, hospitable, and generous. Their main goal is to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Taki (I know i'm butchering his name) helped us make reservations, find vegetarian options, and gave us excellent recommendations for things...

I stayed at the Seikoro Inn, a ryokan, on my first visit to Japan and it was an amazing and unique experience. The staff takes care of you as if they were your favorite grandparents - making sure you are well fed, have had your tea, know where you are going and your room is perfect. Upon arrival they took...

What an amazing way to experience a more traditional (but clean and minimalistic) side of Japan. We stayed here for 2 nights - and I would 100% recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a different type of hotel. From the tea to the beds - it's something worth experiencing. We opted for a room with a shower and...

We spent a few days in this beautiful, traditional and family owned ryokan. The service and food were outstanding. The hotel is well located to reach Kyoto's hot spots by subway or by an extended walk.

We stayed at the Seikora Inn Ryokan Kyoto for 2 nights. It’s an aged inn [opened 1831] located close to a subway line station and walking distance to several key temples in Kyoto. I am glad I had the experience of staying at a Ryokan but you could get that in 1 night. You get to sleep on futons/tatami mats,...

This was the only ryokan we stayed at during a 2 week trip to Japan and it was a unique experience. The thing that stuck us most was the attentiveness of staff - they took time to explain all the traditions of the ryokan and make us feel comfortable. The communal baths are spacious and well maintained - definitely worth...
