Kyoto is amazing! We stayed at The Almont Hotel, easy to find, very close to Kyoto Railway station, room very clean and well equipped. The hotel has a public bath, so very clean, private and wonderful! I left my watch in the room, I emailed...More

The Almont is clean, modern, stylish, and a five-minute walk from Kyoto station. The staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating. It's a fantastic value for seeing Kyoto for those on a budget. Negatives: the other buildings on/across the street are kind of shabby, and the...More
This is my second time staying at Almont Hotel, first time was in 2013 shortly after the hotel opened. 4 years later I am really pleasantly surprised by how good the condition of the rooms and hotel remain. I could not tell any difference, they...More
The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Very competitive price for the area.
Just be careful to exit Kyoto station at the proper exit and it will be a 5-7 min walk- cut through by the 7-11 for a shortcut.

Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the
mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
