Having spent 2 weeks in very Japanese style hotels, the Hyatt Regency was certainly a change. All the staff spoke English, the breakfast buffet was Western-style (although Japanese foods were available). It is a very stylish hotel. Our room (on 2nd floor) had a horrid view of a wall disguised with a bamboo screen, but we didn't spend much time...

I recently attended a conference in Kyoto and stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Kyoto. The hotel was clean, rooms were well appointed. The beds were firm, the bathrooms were spacious with all the amenities. I was impressed with the lighting as the switches for all the lights were by the bedside table. The toilet seat was heated and had...

There is Japanese garden with 5 storey hotel building, spreading over the mountain valley next to Sanjusangando. Service is great with most staff speaking good English , courteous and helpful. Breakfast choices is not much but good quality. Only that there is hospital nearby, you might hear ambulance sirens at night time.

We spent 3 nights at the Hyatt with our young kids. They charged us extra for converting the sofa to a bed, but the cot was provided free of charge. Like a typical luxury hotel, they charge you for everything. We visited Kyoto at the end of October and it was very pretty with all the foliage changing colour. We...

The Hyatt Regency Kyoto is fine. It's in a pretty good location (walking distance to lots of temples, not too far from the train station), and the rooms are fine. That's right - it's all fine. Except for the Concierge - the Concierge is AWESOME. What's not fine? The fact that an espresso in the cafe is over 8,000 yen,...

This is a very beautiful hotel with stunning gardens. Our standard room was very small, we had requested to upgrade but it was fully booked. Our friends got a corner room which was much better as it was spacious with a lounge area. It was disappointing we couldn't get this room. The breakfast is an exceptional buffet with a baked...

We stayed 3 nights at the Kyoto Hyatt Regency. Although we had a mediocre room with no view what so ever not to mention the small size of the bathroom, but we really enjoyed our stay there with many thanks for the very helpful and well trained staff, from the bellboy (girl) to the manager.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto for several nights in 2011. On that occasion we had a Deluxe King Size Room. We returned again in October 2014 and used Kyoto and the Hyatt as our base for another holiday. This time we stayed for some of our time in a Standard King Size Room, some was in a Deluxe...

We spent four nights in this somewhat quirky hotel. Walking into the hotel, there is a wonderful spa-like aroma. The staff is absolutely outstanding and almost universally, the English spoken was the best we heard anywhere in Japan. The level of service outpaces the high levels of service we found all over Japan. The breakfast was terrific and the location...

A really stylish hotel with large, beautifully designed rooms. I love the headboards. The bathroom is huge and has everything you could ever need. Staff are lovely. The lobby and restaurants are remarkable spaces. $8 taxi ride from airport. Bus outside that takes you to heaps of great places. Not a cheap hotel but so nice that we splurged a...
