The beds are comfier than the standard Japanese type. The hostel is clean and quiet and well located in the Gion area, close to most of the major temples and the geisha area. The wifi works well, and there is a 7-Eleven 20 meters away...More
The private rooms are about the cheapest in Kyoto, they have no windows, and they get all the noise from the dormitories as well as the stairs and the toilets... when a group of young people comes back in the middle of the night.
Good location for it is literally very near a subway stop. The rooms were clean as well as the shared bathrooms. The common areas were clean but unfortunately, coming from the cleanliness (and space) we noticed from the hostel in Nagoya, this paled in comparison....More
The guy who was running the place during our stay was hopeless even by English standards, let alone Japanese. He was late opening up, so we called the phone number on the scribbled sign, and he still took ages to appear from wherever he had...More
