My daughter and I stayed at this Ryokan. From reviews and looking at the photos thought it would be perfect. The staff was very nice, especially when we did not accept the first room they offered since it smelt of cigarettes. They do not have non smoking rooms, which means most rooms can smell. The street it is on is...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

This is a great place but what impressed us most was the front desk person's advice (which he offered without our request) that saved us much hassle on our return to Tokyo. Specifically, he recommended changing from Shinkansen to Narita Express at Shinagawa instead of at Tokyo because Shinigawa is a much smaller station so save about 15 minutes of...

This is a very traditional Ryokan, in the sense that you can still see Japanese business men staying here. If you are looking for a classic experience this is the place. Its very affordable and the lovely women who works there is so helpful. We made our booking from Malta and when we arrived she had written down all the...

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely ryokan along the Shimamani Kaido. To be clear, it is not in Onomichi, but the town of Setoda on another island. This means you take a bus or ferry to get there, and these do not run often or late. Back to the ryokan, though, it's really nice, the service and attention to...

Awesome location, heaps to see do and eat right outside your door. The people running the place were some of the most friendly / lovely people I have ever met. Definately get the traditional breakfast - it was awesome! The rooms are very big for a Ryokan, we also had a balcony with some seats as well which was handy...

My first Ryokan - I have no idea what to expect but this place set a good standard. Perfect location to Dotonburi and busy area in Osaka. About 5kins walk to nearest station and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The best of all is that you have the option of shower in your own room and communal Onsen....

The building is older, the staff are very helpful. Wish there were nonsmoking rooms. A bit noisy because of location but that wasn't a problem - we just used earplugs. The location was great! Didn't try the breakfast.

This is our first ryokan experience in Japan. It took us a while to get used to the raised floor and small bathroom, but the location was fantastic. It's right by the side of a waterway (canal) as well as within walking distance to a big shopping hub with numerous restaurants, shops, bars and department store nearby. Our only disappointment...

I really loved this ryokan! The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious. I loved the cultural experience of a traditional Japanese room and there was a nice view of the city and canal below from the window. The staff were also really lovely and accomodating! One of the gentlemen there even went so far as to call us a hatchback...

Two years ago I stayed at Kaneyoshi Ryokan and after staying in a ryokan in Fukuoka, this was a cleaner and nicer upgrade for us. It was conveniently located in the Dotonburi area but in the heart of the nightlife. We could definitely hear the drunk people outside as we slept but those kinda things don't bother us. It's apart...
