Opened just opposite the park's main gate on August 1, 2015, it is the closest hotel to the complex. When you step into the new hotel, you feel as if you have been transported to the U.S.A., the home of Universal Studios. [Operated by Tokyu Hotels]

The Park Front Hotel is one of my favorite hotels in Japan! I was a little skeptical when booking it but I have no regrets at all. For us, location and customer service were key factors when choosing our accommodation and this hotel does not disappoint.

Location:
It's very easy to get from both Itami and Kansai airport to this hotel. The airport limousine bus drops you off and picks you up at a bus stop near USJ, about a 5-10 minute walk away from the hotel.

The hotel is very conveniently located near to USJ and we were able to get a re-entry stamp when showing our tickets booked through the hotel. (This lets you leave the park to eat, shower, drop off your stuff etc.)

We only spent 1 1/2 days at USJ and the rest of the time exploring Osaka, Kyoto, Nara. The USJ station is only 2 stops from Nishikujō Station where you can change trains to Dotonbori, Kuromon Market, Kyoto, Nara... It's about 20 minutes away from Dotonbori which we went to every night after USJ closed.

There are multiple Lawson convenience stores located near the hotel, one is even within the hotel building. Midnight snacking encouraged ;)

Customer Service:
Service was excellent at the hotel. The staff were attentive and professional to answer our every query even at midnight (!) They helped us book USJ tickets, look up directions and reviews of places we wanted to go to, help us figure out our airport limo back to the airport...To me this service was very valuable. Having someone to help in a country where we couldn't speak or read the language is so important.

Value:
I noticed some reviews mentioning how expensive the food was in the hotel when I was booking. It is a little more expensive but if it bothers you just don't eat in the hotel? Universal City Walk is right outside the hotel with other options like MOS Burger (yum). Consider exploring other places in Osaka for your meals. There's so much good food to try!

A great place to stay and convenient if you are planning on staying near Universal Studios Japan (USJ). It is literally a stone throw away from USJ. Room is quite spacious for Japanese standard which is a plus. It also has a self service coin-operated laundry and dryer facility which is very convenient and easy to operate. Breakfast spread is reasonably good, plenty of choices. I love the toiletries provided in the room, I must say I used all of them. The shower was awesome, one of the best shower ever, super strong. The Hotel is only 3 to 5 minutes walk to the nearest train station, Universal City and the train can easily take you to the city centre in Osaka. Extra thanks to Morioka at the Front Desk who assisted us during our check in and helped us arrange our transportation. He was one of the few staff who could actually speak English. Overall my stay at the Hotel was good.

Stayed here 4D3N with my family of five (3 boys). The location is superb for any USJ visitors as it is literally minutes away from the park and also from the train station. If you are taking the limo bus from the airport to USJ, you will drop just outside the park and walk 7-10 minutes to the hotel.

The hotel is overall pleasant and comes with basic amenities and surprisingly large (we had two connecting rooms). There is space for three beds, sofa, small table, tv stand etc. There is a separate shower and bath tub as well as the dressing area. We were located on the high floors but did not have a view of the park.

Breakfast in the morning is very packed and be ready for long queues as families are down early to finish the food ahead of the park’s opening (though we typically only go to the park after 9am and the queues cleared very fast). Breakfast is basic with the Japanese curry, rice, noodles, eggs etc. Don’t expect anything fanciful. If you fancy some bubble tea or burgers,!you can get Gong Cha, Shake Shack just outside the hotel.

The biggest downside to the hotel is the WiFi / Internet. It’s almost impossible to connect while in room and unstable when you are at the ground lobby / restaurant. In this day and age, this would be considered a basic requirement which the hotel failed miserably.

we booked via Agoda and first impression as we walk to the hotel is "classy".  at the front desk we realize it is on a lower level while i request upper level.  the response came " it is expensive".  well this is what i was expecting.  A better response could have been 'let me give you the price difference 'and then let the customer make the judgement whether it is expensive or not.  so now we are stuck at lower level because they believe it is expensive.

Check in was at 3 so once we came back based on our experience with other hotels would have expected the bags to be in our rooms already but that did not happen either.

The room itself is not so great.  As you enter the room the lights dont come off automatically.  the switch is located at the bed rest right in the middle.  so one has to go around the bed and turn on the lights in the dark.  #Tip - Leave the corridor light on.

Internet is shared with everyone i think hence its open and no password.  its slow and in current day/age we would expect these basic things to be available at ease.  as a traveler i am surely after experience which is lacking so far.

advantage of staying here - Universal studios is right outside this hotel.  This is the only advantage.  Please weigh your experience against Convinience and if you are after convenience then this is not a bad place to stay with kids.

The Park Front is undoubtedly the hotel you want to stay in if you're ever staying in Osaka. Me and my Fiancee stayed here for 5 days and it is one of our favourites in all of Japan.

The location itself is the strongest part of this hotel. It is right outside the Universal Studios in Japan. But, that's not only the reason why it is so good. It's the fact outside is a mall which has a million restaurants and even a Lawson's at the bottom for all your convenience needs. The train is literally not even a 5 minute walk which is amazing. You're close to all the sites even if you're staying near Universal, Dotonbori is just a 30 minutes away by train! We even traveled to Kyoto from this hotel.

The customer service at this hotel was minimal as most of the time we didn't interact with the hotel staff as everything is ready to go. Every interaction was a positive one though! They can definitely help you out with stuff regarding tickets and attractions.

The room boasts a fantastic view of the park. You can even have a feel of how many people are lining up to go to the park. Although it's a simple view, me and my fiancee really liked it. The room itself was quite large and everything from the amenity to the bed was amazing. My only issue was it was a bit warm when we were there. I think there was something wrong with the air conditioning but guaranteed the hotel provided us with a portable A/C which worked just fine.

Overall, if you are in Osaka, this is the place to be! Don't bother elsewhere!

You cannot get any closer to Universal Studios or the Citywalk. The room was a decent size compared to typical Japanese hotels (in other words, I at least had room to put my luggage down and still move around the room).

I especially appreciated the quick taxi service. If you need a taxi, go down to the 2nd floor. There is someone standing outside who will arrange a taxi for you. Both times we used the service there was already a taxi waiting.

The room was clean and so quiet. I never heard another child the whole time we were there. There are a few eating options within the hotel and numerous convenience stores just steps away (7-11 and a bunch of Lawsons).

If we ever visit Universal Studios again I will definitely book at the Park Front.

This hotel had the latest checkout time out (12 pm) of all of the hotels we've been to, which I greatly appreciated.

We (a family of 4) had an amazing time in this hotel for 5 nights and we wish we could stay longer. We were lucky (or organised enough) to be able to have an interconnecting family room. It's spacious and it has a great harbour view. It's very quiet in the room despite all the screaming from the roller coaster just right in front of the hotel. It feels very luxurious despite it's not in the luxury floor. The beds are huge and comfortable. We also love the bathrooms with spa bath and toilet is in a separate area thus we don't have to fight to use the toilet. There is coin operated washing machine and dryer in every floor which is very handy for family with young kids going through lots of dirty clothes.
Location is perfect, right in front of the park and there's lots of shopping and restaurants all around the hotel. MRT station is just 1 min walk and there is a ferry terminal just across the road where we took the ferry to Osaka Port and visit Osaka Aquarium (which is also a must do - amazing views along the Harbour).
Daily breakfast is included in our package and it is a kids friendly restaurant.
Just a few little downside - slow internet, no swimming pool, no gym.
Overal, we had an excellent and wonderful stay! It's one of the best kid's friendly hotels we have stayed

The best factor of the hotel was without a single doubt the location. The hotel is just a neighbor to Universal Studios, so whenever I needed to go to the toilet or rushed to do something in the hotel room, it just takes me max. 5 minutes to go from the entrance of Universal Studios to the hotel room in the Park Front Hotel. Even though the rooms are not necessarily fancy and not considered the best out of the other hotels near Universal Studios (potentially), the Park View rooms are definitely a worth-it experience. Not only can I see people entering the parks but also the functional Hollywood Dream roller coaster (whether the roller coaster was moving for trial purposes or making fans scream). The breakfast in the hotel is also uniquely sublime. Foods in the breakfast area include typical egg dishes, cold and roasted meats, mozzarella balls, chicken nuggets, Japanese breakfast options, hot cocoa, hot coffee, and so much more! In addition, attempt to play around with the clock located near the back entrance in the hotel *wink*. I recommend this hotel for guests that want the closest hotel to Universal Studios and Citywalk.

I had a great experience staying at this hotel. The front desk staff was very patient checking us in and explaining to me how the luggage delivery works. The delivery service lady on the 2nd floor was very patient and careful. She asked me 3 times to confirm on the date I'm arriving at my next hotel.

For the room, I love the fact that the two beds are pushed together as one big bed so the kids don't roll off the bed. We also got a room that is looking down at the entrance of USJ. The day before we went to USJ, we looked down our window at the crowd at 8am and decided to go in after 9am on the day we actually went to USJ. The lines are a lot better and faster at 9am.

There are tons of restaurants and shops downstairs so we never tried the restaurants at the hotel. The hotel is also super close (3 mins walk) to the subway station. Overall, I would come back to this hotel again.

Our three night stay at the Park Front Hotel afforded a beautiful view of Universal Studios Japan (USJ) and easy access to the park itself. This is the primary reason customers should choose this hotel for your visit to USJ; no other hotel is closer to the park entrance.

We also found our room to be generous in size by Japanese standards (40 square meters). Unfortunately, the large size was just about the best thing about the room itself, which was otherwise dated and a bit run down. I’m a big “clean carpet” guy, and the Park Front scored low when it came to carpet in our room.

Lastly, with regards to the room, the internet speeds were horrendous. If internet is of any value to you, avoid Room No. 2006 (and perhaps others). Our amazingly bad internet afforded more family time, which was great, but being unable to load simple web pages got annoying quickly.

In terms of service, the hotel provides standard good Japanese service. Staff were friendly and helpful, though not out of the ordinary.

I have written about breakfast separately, but, in summary, it requires patience and a masochistic love for rooms full of rambunctious children and adults shimmying past each other in the hopes of snagging the last deep fried banana burger. Fortunately, Tully’a cafe is close, so there are other (paid) options.

Come for the location, leave your normal, non-resort, standards at the door, and you’ll probably be fine.

I think you will find that they aren’t booked out they just don’t take forward booking that far ahead. I had the same Issue when I booked my japan trip (with several hotels). They will release the rooms but I don’t know when. You can try going through a travel agent to book and they will certainly be able to advise you when the bookings will open.

Hi, no worries, what you can do after reserving the hotel, you can drop them an email to indicate what time is your estimated arrival they will get your room ready b us do not cancel the hotel as they will usually charge a day rate if you didn’t turn up.
