This is a kind of budget hotel nearby Pasar Seni and Chinatown of Kuala Lumpur, if you were out most of the time and just need a comfortable bed and shower then this is your choice. The room is small, the bathroom is of glass then if you are not couple it is a bit uncomfortable. The room does not have free drinking water, but a water dispenser is at lobby area, bring your own bottle. The kettle is provided with instant coffeemix but they don’t replenish it and even no housekeeping services during my three days stay. The area during night is a bit dark and a lot of homeless and it is not well litted. Dataran Merdeka is just a block from the hotel. The hotel is between two LRT stations, Pasar Seni LRT and Masjid Jamek LRT. A lot of eating places nearby the hotel. For a short stay and cheap room rates, then this is the choice considering the best location and price.

Simple hotel. Pay MYR 300 for 3 night include everyday nasi lemak breakfast in variation of rice (lemak, halia, biasa). Tip top in location. Closed to masjid jamek, so you can access 2 LRT, 1 MRT, 2 free shuttle GoKL stop, central market or pasar seni, dataran merdeka, klcg, Chinatown, masjid India easily.

Just stay at the hotel as it the closest hotel to Dataran Merdeka, which is about 100-200m away where the KL Standard Chartered Marathon event held, so that I didn’t have to waking up early and rushing to KL. As the location wise, it is quite strategic place for city travelers as it close to LRT & MRT station and some tourist spot like Sultan Abdul Samad Building, KL City Library, Central Market and Masjid Jamek. The room I choose is without window and a bit cramped, but that suit with my purpose staying there only for sleeping and prepare myself for the event.

Around 5mins walk from Masjid Jemak train station and Pasar Seni train station. Just walk long the river side and you will able to see the hotel. The Hotel just located at the river side. The room I have with window of the river view, you will be able to watch the blue river when at night. Room is small but everything work well. Good to stay if you want to explore the city and not just stay in room whole day. Wifi working well, TV and bathroon ok too. Have convenience shops, eating places, cafes nearby. The lobby look nice, hotel restaurant is at lobby. Not try the breakfast, so, no comment. No bottle drinking water provided in room, but there is a water machine at lobby that you can fill drinking water.

Stayed here in June 2022 and booked the Deluxe Room. Surprised by a lack of reviews for this hotel so I decided to play my part by giving my honest review. Did not try breakfast though, Pros: - Location unmatched. Central Market beside, Chinatown (Petaling Street) behind, Kuala Lumpur CIty Gallery & Dataran Merdeka a few minutes beside & of course, the River of Life & Masjid Jamek just in front. -Aesthecially pleasing hotel, just like the buildings and scenery around it. There even is a few rental Beam E-scooters to cruise around. - Masjid Jamek LRT a few metres away. Just walk the whole River of Life and there is the metro. - Straighforward hotel that does its job, Room was decent and there is hot shower with one small soap and shampoo. Staff is approachable. Cons: - Not enough hangers. Seriously just one? Surely it does'nt hurt to provide more. - No freezer :( - Housekeeping I feel should be done more. There was only one housekeeping done during my 5 day stay. - Some TV channels no signal like TV3 (the local Malaysian channel). How is that possible lol? Overall, I really recommend this hotel and I hope it keeps upgrading as there is a lot of untapped potential and could even be a 4-star hotel. But hey, I only paid $25 a night so maybe I shouldn't ask for too much lol. 4.5/5 hotel.

This hotel is good value for travellers on a budget. Compact, quite clean & comfortable room facing onto the main road with a view of the river. Breakfast (which was included in room price) was okay, staff are pleasant. Just one major boo boo on the part of housekeeping when we checked into our room.. the toilet bowl in the bathroom had not been flushed!! A clear indication the toilet wasn’t sanitized. Didn’t want to make a fuss and flushed the toilet ourselves but that did put an initial blight on our stay. Toiletries provided were also very scarce, just a tiny tube of shower gel between two people which also had to double up as hand wash so a small bar of soap at the sink would have been nice. Overall, a pleasant stay, but Housekeeping, please buck up!

New hotel, very nice rooms. Brilliant location - right next to the blue pool (part of the rive lit up beautifully at night) and the Central Market - great for shopping for arts and crafts. Also smack bang between China Town and Little India so loads to do and see within walking distance. Good breakfast.

I wanted a 2D/1N staycation & decided on Avenue J due to the Hotel signage's font type style & exterior look. Besides, the Hotel was close to Central Market & the River of Life attraction. Avenue J Hotel does not have ample parking space. However, a basement parking which could hold at least 4 cars was available for a fee of RM26.50 per stay which was ridiculously expensive! Parking proved to be a nightmare as the basement parking offers only 1 way traffic in & out. You have to alert the Front Desk before going into the basement parking. They will only open the shutters upon request. Best to head over using public transport. Check-in was fast & we were assigned a room on the 2nd floor. Booked a windowless room on Agoda which proved to be a disaster. Didn’t expect the room to be so small. Although the room was tiny, it was able to fit a queen size bed & some space to perform prayers. The stickers on the wall were certainly catchy & made the room have an urban fun charm of its own. We were pleasantly surprise to find that the TV channels were equipped with a few international programmes. There was no closet space but a few hooks to hang your clothes. A safety box was also available to keep your valuables & important items. The air-conditioner was good & provided enough comfort. There was a kettle for us to make some coffee or tea. The boutique Hotel also provided complimentary mineral bottled water. The bathroom layout was long & nicely done up. The wall tiles caught my attention. They were very beautiful. I also liked the lights at the sink. It gave an uptown American feel to the bathroom. A bidet was installed & the water pressure was unbelievably strong. Bathroom amenities were complete except for dental kits. The only complaint was that the water at the shower area would not drain out fast enough as something was stuck inside the floor trap. Housekeeping staff was called in the morning to solve the problem. Buffet breakfast was served from 7 am – 10 am near the lobby. The spread comprised of baked beans, scrambled eggs, chicken sausages, fried noodles, porridge, toast & cereal. But the coffee & juice were so bad that it had ruined my breakfast experience. Tables were not cleaned & I suspect they have a manpower issue as the same Housekeeping staff cleaned the tables later on. The upside to the Hotel is its location. It is close to a few tourist attractions & value for money. Furthermore, the Hotel is beautifully decorated with designer lights. It has adopted an American atmosphere. There are many American paraphernalia & props at the lobby. The staff are also friendly & helpful. If you’re out most of the time, this Hotel will serve its purpose for a goodnight sleep. But if you’re thinking of staying in, there are other better Hotels nearby as the room size is just too small.

This Hotels that are still with new buildings with very friendly service ....We are allowed to check in faster, because we arrived at the hotel around 10:00 and are allowed to check in immediately The hotel is right behind the Kuala Lumpur Central Market, close to Petailing Street, Dataran Merdeka and Malaysia National Art Gallery Across the hotel there is a garden for children playing and a famous place to eat song kee beef noodle ... the best place to eat noodles and porridge while we are in kuala lumpur This hotel breakfast menu in my opinion is somewhat lacking, maybe because we are accustomed to the typical Indonesian food menu. For rooms, it is minimalist but still with an attractive design that is very cozy, so far like this hotel over all Thank you avenue J Hotel
