Far too many little cockroaches in the room this time around. I must have killed about 30 in a few days. Also the room is poorly maintained with a dripping aircon unit that i had to clean the clogged up filters. A broken latch on the window. TV was terrible, with picture quality fuzzy. Old linens and towels. They are renovating the 4th Floor of the hotel at the moment, and not too soon. Only stay here if you are desperate.

This hotel is just opposite the Petaling street or China town of KL. Rooms are just ok and not spacious. NO tea coffee making facilities were present in my room when I stayed. DOn't know about other rooms of the hotel. Helpful staff and good location is the best part of this hotel.

Stayed a few days here again in December 2017. Not many changes, but now there is no BBC Channel, just local Malaysian channels. They charged me my usual rate of 80 Ringgits per night which is good value for what you get. Wifi worked well which is the main thing. Hotel rooms are clean, and there is aircon, a lift, and a filtered water dispenser. No noise problems from traffic. Good, pleasant location.

MR R and I have been visiting Winsin Hotel Chinatown for many years. We have found it to be comfortable after a hard day shopping or sightseeing. On one visit, we spent over two weeks there. Winsin Hotel Chinatown, a budget hotel with 46 individually controlled air-conditioned rooms. Located at one of the oldest streets in Kuala Lumpur where guests would be able to access both the historical and modern parts of the city. Winsin’s objective is to provide an international-standard accommodation to travelers at an affordable price. With a cozy roof top garden which you will be able to enjoy a cool breeze night under the lime light of KLCC and KL tower. You will be able to have a bird view of the night activity of the Chinatown market that is not far away, and a busy bus station full of local working crowd taking buses to all other parts of Kuala Lumpur and suburb. Set in the heart of China Town, this hotel is central for all the sites, shopping and transportation. The staff and management are more than welcoming and attentive; nothing is too much trouble for them. Rooms are clean and serviced every day, by two lovely chambermaids. This is a wonderful, friendly, clean and quite hotel. FACILITIES Hot and Cold water Dispenser 24 Hrs Internet Wifi Services Laundry Services 24 hrs CCTV security and safe box 24 hrs reception Air Conditioned rooms with individual control Hot and cold shower private bath Satellite TV (Astro Channel) IDD Telephone/ Colour TV Hair dryer and Ironing board upon request INTERESTING PLACES AROUND THE HOTEL The hotel is ideally located in the historical area of Kuala Lumpur. Places of historical such as SRI MAHA MARIAMAN TEMPLE, CHAN SEE SHU YUEN TEMPLE, CENTRAL MARKET, JAMEQ MOSQUE, KUALA LUMPUR RAILWAY STATION, MERDEKA SQUARE, SULTAN ABDUL SAMAD BUILDING, ST. MARY CHURCH are within 5 to 25 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Besides, there are museums such as ISLAMIC CENTRE, NATIONAL HISTORY MUSEUM, TELECOM MUSEUM located at the neighboring streets. The hotel is also surrounded with souvenir shops and stalls for authentic art and craft of Malaysia. The Central Market, which has a variety of gifts selection, is only less than 2 minutes walking distance from our hotel, and the Chinatown Market is only 3 minutes walking distance from our hotel. You will also be able to find pre-war building shops, which are selling goods such as traditional Chinese praying items, textiles, hardware and even pets. A wet market, which is supplying the daily vegetables, herbs, fishes, meat and fruits for more than 50 years of history, is also located around the corner. For food lovers, you can find various local delicacy food stalls surrounding Winsin Hotel Chinatown

Winsin hotel is situated just few walk from Petaling market which they also call it Chinatown Market. As we enter the hotel, the receptionist welcomed us nicely and even gave us discount. Then he also gave us map to use while traveling around Kuala Lumpur. As we reach our room, we saw that the lift is not that clean. The aircon inside the room cannot be adjusted. The ventilation ia poor. The TV is blurry and you can only watch 2 or 3 channels which are in bahasa and chinese language. The bed linens are untidy. The shower provides very less amount of water. This is a budget hotel but didn't met my expectation.

Booked this as a walk in having stayed elsewhere for one night. It was refreshing to have a decent bed, a clean room, and excellent service. The bathroom eas good with a decent shower and the building felt secure. It is just across the road from Petaling Street Market so you are near to stuff without having to deal with the noise. It's also very reasonable prices.

Off the centre of China Town, I found this hotel for 65 ringgit a night, for a double bedroom AC, with a window overlooking the Kuala Lumpur tower and private bathroom. Very good reception and high speed wifi. I can recommend and wouldnt hesitate coming back. Clean for what I saw around in the area!

My experience at Winsin is similar to other travelers, as reported here. This is a good budget hotel option. I have stayed 3 times now. First stay I booked on booking.com for 88 Ringgits a night (single occupancy), then on subsequent visits they have given me the same rate. You can pay daily (in advance) or for as many days as you wish to stay. The hotel is quiet and does not suffer from traffic noise even though buses pass on the two streets surrounding the hotel. Wifi works well. TV has the BBC, a movie channel and about 6 other Malaysian channels; that’s all, which is similar to all other budget hotels I have stayed at in KL. Aircon is split set and only has one setting: ON. Works pretty well at cooling the room. On all floors of the hotel there is a filtered water dispenser for both hot and cold water. This is a great saving on bottled water. The hotel has a lift too, and is staffed 24hours on reception. The downside for me was the occasional cockroach in the room. Management should really do something about this, like fumigating the entire hotel. My room on the second floor was particularly bad and I had to kill at least 20 small cockroaches during my multiweek stay. For my room on the 4th floor I had to kill only 3 cockroaches, and for my room on the first floor none at all. Overall the quality of the hotel, good location, and relatively low price make this a good budget option. Will stay again.

the hotel room is just your common bedroom.. a spacious room with comfy beds, ref, tv, table and chairs, aircon and a simple bathroom and daily room service. but the extraordinary here is the view outside our window.. the petronas twin towers and menara tower can both be seen from our room. the location is just a little walking to chinatown, cental market, merdeka square, gokl bus stop, mydin mart, star shuttle bus to klia1&2, and lrt free wifi also

Booked this hotel on line based on previous reviews and we were very pleased with it. The location in fantastic, literally in the midst of all you want to see/experience and a short walk from the rail station. The Hop-On Hop-Off bus stop in Chinatown is just a short walk away. We had a perfect view (albeit hazy thanks to the fires from Indonesia) of the KL Tower from our window - and were able to watch the base jumpers! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Wifi is decent and the rooftop seating area is nice at night. There is no laundry service at the hotel but you can avail of a good service at the Dragon Hotel in Chinatown, just a short walk away (behind the Watson's). The staff also permitted us to store our backpacks for a few hours after we checked out.
