Very much enjoyed the hotel's unusual aesthetics during our stay, but what really gives the place character is Aung, the gentleman at the reception desk in the café. Combining professionalism and a warm, friendly personality, attentive and patient, he went out of his way to help us with any request we had. He made our stay in this exceptional place all the more memorable.

The hotel's location is superb, right next to Petaling Street market and within walking distance of the MRT/LRT station Pasar Seni. According to Google Maps, it's also conveniently close to Plaza Rakyat and Merdeka stations, though I've only walked from Pasar Seni. The hotel is co-located with Lim Kee Cafe, but regrettably, I didn't get a chance to sample their coffee and desserts. The check-in process at the hotel is unique, with a small table tucked into a corner of the cafe serving as the counter. Overall, I'd describe the hotel as average; cleanliness could be improved, as there were some stains on the bed and towels, and there were quite a few mosquitoes. However, they do provide mosquito coils, and there's a mosquito net surround the bed.

Beautiful room and great location! Very warm and nice staff. Saw had given me loads of recommendations and was super helpful! Unfortunately I don’t know the other staff members name but they were all super helpful!! The hotel itself is tiny which makes it so much cozy than the big corporate ones. The location of the hotel is great in the middle of China Town which offers a lot of lively and nice places to eat at. The bed and cuscino is super comfy and the highlight is the outside door shower and toilet! I enjoyed it so much the shower especially in the evening coming back from long meetings and just relaxing. There’s a close public transportation and with Grab it’s always easy to move. The room is super clean and there’s a place (in the coffee shop) you can fill in your water bottle. Very recommended!

Stayed here again after so many years! The upkeeping is still tip top and the staff is still ever so friendly and helpful! This has been my go to hotel whenever i visit kuala lumpur! Superb location and notice that there are many more eateries around and 5mins walk away from both LRT and MRT. Also, 5 mins walk to the second WORLD tallest building which is opening soon!

I took the Starmart bus from KL International Airport to Pudu Central, and it was a short walk from there. (I took considerable longer but that was my own fault for not having the correct address. A kindly lady helped me out - God bless her!) Room with high ceiling with an overhead fan, with noiseless, slow moving blades - the room was comfortable and cool and I slept very well. The ensuite was in the balcony - both toilet and the shower - facing a brick wall, and open on top so lots of natural light in the room. There was a blind to draw down for full privacy, but it was not really needed. I never heard ny neighbours using the facilities. The room was absolutely quiet at night. The hotel rooms are on the first floor, with a cafe serving light meals and coffee/tea on the ground floor. The first floor had a breakfast lounge, where light refreshments and tea/coffee were available in the morning. I really appreciated this hospitable arrangement. Lots of restaurants all around so myriad food choices. I enjoyed my stay and would be happy to return.

Easy to get the train into KL Sentral from the airport using a credit or debit card. Then it is only one stop on the metro to MRT Pasar Seni Station. You have to buy a ticket at the kiosk to use the metro. It is then only a short walk past Petaling Street to the hotel. There is a coffee shop downstairs in the hotel but there is a check in desk on the left. There were only a few people staying at the hotel so there was no breakfast buffet, You had to order your food using a sheet the night before if possible and select a time. The breakfast came with orange juice and tea or coffee. There are plenty of cheap places to eat close by that serve beer.

Great location as amazing food is within easy walking distance and lots of things to see. Interior design is quaint, cozy and gorgeous. I stayed at the room on the ground floor which had the toilet and shower looking into a private courtyard / greenery. Most beautiful and no regrets!

This is the most amazing find in Chinatown....a converted old shophouse turned boutique hotel right in the centre of Chinatown! King sized bed, great air conditioning, concrete floor and a patio outside that is the bathroom with the incredible water pressure! Bed is firm and so comfortable! Huge tv and free wifi in the room. The thoughts gone into the architecture was gorgeous, breakfast area upstairs just lovely. Out front is a small cafe that serves cappucino etc etc and you get a complementary one every day of your stay

Whilst this hotel may not be everyone's cup of Teh Tahrik, it was certainly mine. I loved my stay here - the aesthetic of industrial chic was brilliant, the bed was super comfortable, the A/C and fan effective, staff friendly and inobtrusive, and in a great location on the fringe of Chinatown. Though I didn't have breakfast included, I did get a complimentary drink in the cafe downstairs each day. The outdoor bathroom was great as well - not for everyone I'll admit, but I quite liked it. If I had to point out some flaws, the lack of fridge was a surprise omission - though complimentary water bottles were available whenever I wanted (just not chilled). The room also was not especially dark at night - lots of LEDs from smoke alarms and the A/C, plus the lights from the courtyard/airwell plus the general light of the city coming in from the top windows. If sensitive to light, take eye masks. Otherwise, this has absolutely become my go-to hotel in KL.
