well situated only a 15 minute walk to klcc and bukit bintang the hotel has a 5 star lobby which is very impressive. we spent 18 days here and had a premier room with a balcony and gate straight onto the pool..service is good and ala carte food is very good and reasonably priced. tofoyal and saiful who waiter in the restaurant are awesome and a credit to the hotel..we had a night flight and hotel gave us a 6,pm late checkout which was also a nice touch ..but to be honest the hotel is not 5 star for the following reasons...the furniture in rooms and carpets look tired..the cladding on the side of hotel has come off and is just piled up like a rubble site..some sockets in rooms don't work..and every shaver socket doesn't work ( i tried several)..in 18 days never saw pool being cleaned..also lots of loungers but very few parasols and mattresses for the loungers also the pool showers are hidden out of sight and consequentlypeople don't shower before entering the pool..the lift buttons so worn you can't make out floor numbers..food and breakfast buffet was luke warm at best at times. BUT ..your not paying shangri la or trader hotel prices..generally a good hotel that I would say is 4 star and i would stay again..because I enjoyed it overall and staff looked after you…
Situated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, near to Pavillion Shopping Mall, Night Food Market (Jalan Alor). A perfect hotel for family, solo, business nor stay-cation. I consider myself as regular here and they are truly Malaysian Hospitality. Starts with front desk, Jamie, Yati, Danialle, Naiman, Carol, Ramesh, Ridzuan and other associate are super friendly. F & B, Yassin and Sales - Suzy and Aida they all great ambassador to Malaysian Hospitality and Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur. I also met the GM, Mr Badrul - super friendly and nice person. This is the perfect location to stay, events, wedding and tourist super extra friendly. Book their 1 bedroom apartment, you will thank me later, also their normal room is superb. As for in room dining, do order their Mee Goreng Mamak and Carbonara - thank me later as well. Thank you for the great Malaysian Hospitality by Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur. All the name mentioned, you are an asset to the hotel. …
We were visiting Kuala Lumpur and we booked into this 5 star hotel. We stayed in this Hotel about 5 years ago and we were really happy then. We booked 2 apartment rooms and right away we noticed there were no cutleries. The cupboard door between the hallway and the bathroom could not be shut properly and anyone could see through to the bathroom. A bit of the valance sheet bottom came off. We have managed to change the rooms to the hotel side. The rooms were better but not clean. There was a bit of bread left on the floor by the door. The cleaners definitely didn’t do a good job. The change of towels was another joke. I had to ask for fresh towels virtually every day. The cleaner would take away used towels but they never got replaced! Tea bags and coffee replacements were a hit and miss. They were replaced one day and not the other Breakfast used to be so good. Not this time. I found certain food quite cold. Earl Grey tea wasn’t on display and I asked for it a couple of times. One day I was told it was actually chargeable but it was given to me as a compliment. I can’t recall any 5 star hotels with no Earl Grey tea for breakfast. Enough said. I must say most of the staff were very polite and courteous, except the one who served me the earl grey tea reluctantly. Would I choose this hotel again? I think not…
Really enjoyed this stay on our stopover to Sydney. The location is ideal as KL Tower & Petronas Towers are within walking distance. The only minor criticism is the photo used on the booking websites of the Petronas Towers. You can no longer see them from the swimming pool owing to building work.
15/10/2022 Room 403 A night out with wife, always wanted to stay at this hotel, so should we get started.. The hotel been 20 years plus ? From the external looks of it it have the old Malay House design right in the center of the city, looks special of it. Parking: The parking space consider OK, but if could with some extra lights available would be great. For in-house guest is complimentary. Lobby: Looks huge big, bright with Victoria century themes sofa design and malay house themes. Check in was fast non issue with it. 2-3 receptionist available open counter. Booked the lowest categories but been upgraded to higher level room. Thank you very much. Lift: Long waiting time even with 4 running operation, there's even one without any lights on in it... Looks scary and creepy. Really needs upgrade on it. Room: As says before this hotel is about Malay culture theme, so the room would be the same. Some might think a bit old school... but we are okay on it. The room comes alongside with a balcony ( looks nice ) even the room I takes without any views. Only small issue is TV set looks small size for the wall behind. Swimming pool: The pool is huge, clean. But too bad we not keen on it...Very sorry about it not much information to be given for readers. Breakfast: Sorry as we have others plans during morning, so no information to be given all readers. #Overall is a great hotel to stay a night or two, if don't mind with the theme, walking distance to Pavilion shopping mall, FnB would not an issue at all. But when walking to Pavilion, just be cautious as the road is a bit dark. …
We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in 2012 and so decided to revisit 10 years later, this time with two children as well. Such a stark contrast. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment. The size of the room is excellent however it was very rundown. There were scuffs and pen marks along many of the walls. Two of the floor lamps did not work and on closer inspection i noticed the cables were loose. It's such a shame as we really enjoyed our stay there 10 years ago. The breakfast was very good although we noticed the selection had reduced somewhat. My advice would be to avoid rooms along the first floor as the whole corridor looked very tired and rundown.
The hotel might have been very grand in 1995. It is still quite lovely in the foyer and pool area however the two rooms I’ve been allocated are dated and have lost their sheen. Carpet is stained in both rooms and it needs cleaning. The first room I was allocated 248 faced the main entrance road with motor bikes and noisy motor vehicles coming and going until 03.30am. The room air con sounded like a jet engine so I had to turn off air con. Room has cigarette butts outside window sill. An awful room! Avoid if you like quiet. As for breakfast, well it was passable. Food was cool. Toaster did not toast. Cappuccino machine made undrinkable coffee. Staff approached and asked for deposit as they said my room did not include breakfast (wrong!). No apologies. Annoying too! I asked for a room change and reception provided a new room overlooking the pool. The new room is much better however TV reception is awful. I guess one cannot expect too much then one will not be disappointed. Not worth what I paid via Agoda as a Platinum VIP😀…
This is a wonderful stopping point in Malaysia that feels very elegant and excellent. Everything is clean and modern and the food is plentiful and delicious. Easy to take a taxi for your sightseeing trip.
I've stayed here with my inlaw and the family with 2 kids (4 & 2 years old). We've booked 2 bedroom apartment. Normally for my staycation, I will review based on these factors, Overal Room Experience, Checking & staff experience, Facilities & the most important would be the Breakfast experience. Overall experience I would give 5 out of 10. Here goes. Room Experience: The part I love about it, is the room was spacious, It's big and my kids can run around the whole area playing hide and seek. It provides washing machine, Fridge, cooking stove, bathtub and other amenities. It is great to have a dryer in the room cause we use it to dry out our cloth after a walk to Pavillion during rainy days, a good thing we got the dryer in the room. The best part of the room is the BED! IT IS SO SOFT & EVERYONE COULD SLEEP LIKE A BABY! But here comes the negative review that I have to place. 1. Kitchen Stove provided but there is no such utensil stored in the room (Probably it's upon request if it is Please do provide clear instructions for the customer either to post it on the kitchen cabinet or allow us to know upon checking in. 2. The room looks very old, The cleanliness is kinda disappointing, Some part of the walls were torn due to water leakage, Its dusty, I can even find an old hotel slippers underneath the table. The sofa was torn, Sliding door not able to open nor close back, Living room TV is broken & phone was not working, I have to go to the reception to report on this, Luckily the maintenance guy did a great job done, I didn't get his name, But whoever he is, I am truly grateful. 3. The view that I got....well sadly there is no view, I could only see the breakfast area from my window as my room was on level 1... We cant change the room as well due to the receptionist inform that my type of room has only 5 units, Even with 5 units, Please make sure it is taken care of & maintained well.. 4. Bathtub kinda dirty... I can see hair and some sort of mucus or sludge inside... hae to wash it myself before using it. Check-in & Staff Experience. 1. The person who checks me in kinda meh... I've came at 12PM and the 1st thing upon arrival, there is no greetings instead just say "our check in time is at 3PM". I'm like okaaay... I've told her, if there is no room available, just register me first and I can go to Pavillion first, But then she able to get me a room... I guess because of this I might got a defect room? well I will never know. 2. Concierge and Restaurant Staff are friendly! They like to make funny faces for my kids and tease them, They are friendly with greetings and make myself feel welcome :) Facilities 1. Overall facilities looks great! SPa, Swimming pool and gym. Didnt manage to enjoy the spa and the gym but the swimming pool is great! Sadly due to the building is not high, alot of construction dust around the area spoils the feeling. Cant blame on the hotel for that. Breakfast buffet I will always use this as part of my benchmark for a review, so the breakfast experience kinda average. This is due to the breakfast variety kinda meh, The food taste also kinda meh, Baked beans doesnt taste like baked beans, But the staff is great! This is probably I've check in during weekdays instead of weekend where its a low occupancy time. But there is my comment on that. Here is my overall review of the hotel, Would I recommend this to another person? Yes I would, it is solely because of the BED! But if anyone going for the hotel, go for the normal room instead of the apartment room... It's disappointing to pay 600 plus but with this experiences.…
